WJR 760 AM Detroit where Toledo goes to get its radio entertainment.

Ten years ago Jerry Anderson was a Speedy talk show host. He got top ratings and Speedy listeners hated to see him go. But the man had a face for television and it was only a matter of time till he moved along. Jerry reminded me of oldtime Speedy host Paul W Smith who now works for WJR 760 Detroit. Another example of a excellent talk show host that is civil and civic minded and doesn't race bait always positive and gracious. He draws in the big names with a Midwest flavor to his interviews. By-the-way Paul W show can be heard on the mega watt WJR 760 AM from 5:30 AM to 9:00 AM every morning. Yes he gets up 1/2 hour earlier than the WSPD host. WJR 760 Frank Beckman conservative host begins each day at 9:00 AM till noon with national guests from around the country debating the days events. He's farther right of me but tends to be less combative than the Toledo bunch. Then from noon to 3:00PM Thom Hartmann can be heard on 1310 WDTW AM Detroit a former business owner turned talk show host that debates guests in a civil and respectful way from both sides of the political spectrum. None of the juvenile insulting name-calling that is standard fair here locally. The one truly great host that all should aspire to is the late JP McCarthy of 760 WJR. This great talk show host was the voice of Michigan for decades. He was so professional that no one ever knew his political persuasion. A true Icon!
The Mitch Albom Show on 760 WJR is an award-winning sports columnist with "The Detroit Free Press", an Emmy-award winning television commentator, and a professional musician. Albom is a best-selling author of several books including "Tuesdays with Morrie" and "The Five People You Meet in Heaven" 5 to7 PM

While listening to WJR 760 AM Detroit I've noticed many local Toledo businesses are now advertising on WJR. It signal is stronger then any here in Toledo and covers a larger area.

You've already used this as a comment in one of your other posts, so how about you make up your delusional, third-person mind. If you post something as a comment, leave it as a comment...if you feel it's important enough for a blog post, post a blog. Now that I think about it, this is probably not the best thing to bring up because it will probably incite you to increase your cut & paste levels to "on steroids." Which is unfortunate because this seems to be your new modus operandi. Honestly, I'm surprised it's not against the terms of use...

Nice advertisement there buddy. Sometimes I switch to listen to hannity when I get sick of gary rathman financial mumbo jumbo. The biggest joke is the guy who comes on at 5:00, lolz. Mitch, or something? Pansy.

Also, we patronize wspd advertisers. Went to david kay last week, only because we heard it on 1370.

WJR lost me when they stopped carrying the Tigers.

The Mitch Albom Show on 760 WJR is an award-winning sports columnist with "The Detroit Free Press", an Emmy-award winning television commentator, and a professional musician. Albom is a best-selling author of several books including "Tuesdays with Morrie" and "The Five People You Meet in Heaven". This one is slightly liberal but adds diversity to the WJR 760 talk show host line up. His show is heavily into sports talk but not exclusive of current events. His show is aired from 5 to7 pm giving the mind a break from the mumbling moron in Toledo.
The talent level at this market is heads and shoulders above the rubes in Toledo!

He also is a a guy who makes stories up!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitch_Albom " Albom and four editors were briefly suspended from the Detroit Free Press after Albom filed a column that stated two college basketball players were in the crowd at an NCAA tournament game, when in fact they were not.[30] In a column printed in the Sunday, April 3, Albom described two former Michigan State basketball players, both now in the NBA, attending an NCAA Final Four semifinal game on Saturday to cheer for their school. The players had told Albom they planned to attend, so Albom, filing on his normal Friday deadline but knowing the column could not come out until Sunday – after the game was over - wrote the players were there. The Detroit Free Press also suspended the four editors who had read the column and allowed it to go through to print. But the players' plans changed at the last minute and they did not attend the game. Albom was in attendance at the game, but the columnist failed to check on the two players’ presence."

In fact my journalism professors had other documented cases where the facts didn't add up and used him and former Toledo Blade reporter Janet Cooke! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Janet_Cooke (Who also won a pulitzer prize!)

Oh yeah WJR was also the home station to Nazi sympathizer and anti-semitist, Father Coughlin! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Father_Coughlin

Nice sources moron.

And Paul W. hosted The Rush Limbaugh Show before, once for a week.
