Common Law Grand Jury to be implemented in Lucas County

There is a nationwide campaign underway to constitute in each county a common law grand jury by the people for the people. There are presently five states that are completely constituted which are New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Florida, and Connecticut. There are many counties in which participation in this campaign has yet to be determined. If you would like to know how you may get involved please go to ...nationallibertyalliance.org

I would like to see more Common Law implemented throughout t the Country, in all areas too. Like trial by ordeal, trial by combat, trial by fire, and so on. It's time to go back to basics IMHO.

Thanks G-MAN for your reply. There is only one true law and it is "common law". Common law is the unwritten law that has guided men from mans' existence. It is promulgated by natural law and by nature's God's law embedding justice and righteousness into every man's conscience through moral reasoning allowing for man to express his free will of choice. This free will of choice can only be executed by understanding what our lawful standing in society is. This is what the common law grand jury is about. 25 men getting together and exercising their free will of choice in a righteous manner. I agree with you in that it is time to go back to basics and in doing so we all need to be educated on what the basics really is so we can make choices. One of my favorite sayings is this...."I do not know what I do not know because I do not know that I do not know. This is the mission of nationallibertyalliance.org. To educate us so we can make righteous choices as jurists.

Laws of man need to be written. This has been true through time. If the laws of man are not written the law that takes over is the law of force. Essentially what you're advocating by your definition is a devolution of the rights of man.

If I am under the wrong impression please correct where I am misunderstanding it.

If you are going to log on to a forum such as swampbubbles, as a (supposedly) new (4 days old) poster, and suggest that people get involved in a "movement" -- any movement -- you need to explain what that movement entails. You didn't do that.

Secondly, some, like me, will quickly bing or google to see if they can get a plain English explanation of what a "common law grand jury" is. Well, the info that was readily available was as clear as mud. And most of us are not going to "watch this video" etc. The organization you cited (without any explanation of what a "common law grand jury" is) ... well they are as bad as you are in being up front about their goals.

AND, by the way - for readers/lurkers/posters at this site - lots of red flags should go up when you read something like this original post. It could very well be a fishing trip to see who is into this. Be very wary of this kind of hit-and-run stuff.

**************************
Having said all that, I am going to do L-E-N, the fisherman here a favor, and give a personal example. I like something reported by a distant cousin of Leo Tolstoy, that Tolstoy's life rule in older age was: Avoid the authorities at all costs.

I shared this purported view of Tolstoy with a southern friend of many years who had sent an article about a woman who died in jail (she had cancer, which was not treated while she awaited trial) - who was an active part of the "pro se" movement. I can't go into what the pro se movement is here - but will supply a "neutral explanation" link at the end of this post. My friend and I instantly got into a HUGE argument about this. I did know that he represented himself "pro se" a few times... and hasn't paid ANY of those traffic tickets. He's very good. He could pass the bar without every attending one law class. But won't because, you see, if you don't have a bar ticket, the judge in any action has nothing to "pull".

People who get involved in this stuff generally end up immersed in it. They are often brilliant and effective, like the late great Sherman Skolnick. But you have to count the cost, and personally, I still agree with Tolstoy.

And am still suspicious of the purpose of this original post here.

What pro se is:

This was a very well thought out and principled comment.

I had the same thoughts. Your suspicion is well founded.

It appears we may be on the cusp of rapprochement between Mikey and Farmer Gal. This is a welcome development, similar to Ford's stroll with Brezhnev and Nixon's tea-sipping with Mao. Perhaps these signals of goodwill and shared interests will bring about peace in our time at Swampbubbles.

Patience is a great virtue.

Don, above all things I try to be fair.

I can criticize someone in one post and praise them the next.

Most of all I am protective of the community here. We can talk back and forth all day but we should all be mindful and villigant on those who would come from outside to influence this community. I would defend even those I disagree with from outsiders to this community because outsiders are coming in here with an unknown agenda when they come in here to attack active members of this community.

The purpose of the original post was to bring the topic of "common law grand jury" to the attention of the people of Lucas County. This campaign is being implemented in Lucas County and I feel as though people should know what is happening in Lucas County pertaining to this subject. This subject and the status of this campaign is networked from nla website.

As far as force is concerned, when all is said and done, more has been accomplished in the history of the human race by the application of brute force than by any other means.
