Will God Curse Our Countries for Christmas?

Abominable Christians, those who have the perverted religious preference of tradition over truth, are just like every other sinner unwilling to confess and forsake their sins and seek to whitewash or justify them. The difference is such professing Christians often pretend to be better or more righteous than those physical idolaters and immoral folks (who also refuse to repent) while they engage in spiritual idolatry (putting tradition over truth) and spiritual immorality (whoring around with other gods and foreign ways) bringing divine judgment upon our nations.

May this day that recognizes the birth of Jesus Christ be a blessed one for you and your family. May this day remind all of us how much God loves us. Christmas is not just the commemoration of the nativity of Jesus Christ: it is also the celebration of the manifestation of God´s love.

David, your phonograph plays only one song and one record. Please update your record collection. And buy a DVD player. The same old refrain gets old.

But other than singing your blues, don't you have anything worthwhile and appropriate to comment about the issues raised in this thread?

Your "issues" are pure BULLSHIT and a waste of everyone's time.

No problem. That was then, this is now. Go educate yourself.

Furthermore, my "collection" includes Israel, Jerusalem, USA, Third Temple, Europe, Africa ,Lost Tribes, Gospel of the Kingdom, The Church of God, Herbert W Armstrong, Beyond Babylon, World News, God and the Gays, etc.

I certainly didn't flunk history and I have read the Bible in GREEK... how about you, Mr. End-of-Millennium Prophet? Piss off with your proselytizing and racist bullshit. I absolutely will not read any more of your posts. You are too much of a True Believer. [Eric Hoffer used the term true believer in his first book, published in 1951, which explored the nature of fanaticism and mass-movements in the political context. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/True-believer_syndrome ]

[Later edit] True Believer Syndrome is considered to be a cognitive disorder: "Most common mental disorders affect cognitive functions, mainly memory processing, perception and problem solving. The most direct cognitive disorders are amnesia, dementia and delirium. Others include anxiety disorders such as phobias, panic disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder. Mood disorders such as depression and bipolar disorder are also cognitive mental disorders. Psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia and delusional disorder are also classified as cognitive mental disorders."

David, please, you should seek help.

The Jewish religious leaders read the Bible in Hebrew and the Word stood before them and they still just didn't get it. It appears you don't either and instead choose to shamefully shoot the messenger.

You can't refute the pagan origin of Christmas.

You can't refute the Scriptures in both the Bible and New Testament condemn adulterating truth with error, mixing paganism with the worship of the true God.

But you can attack me and feel righteous about it. Sad.

Mike, why are you repeating the mantra that amounts to whitewash for a pagan hollow day? Do you still believe in Santa too? Let's be honest with ourselves. Apparently those who pretend to care Yeshua was born, the King of the Jews (how ethnocentric), the King of Israel (how racist!), prefer the helpless "baby Jesus" or "crucified Christ" rather than the outspoken and forceful Rabbi who overturns the tables of those who exploit religion for profit and who condemned traditions that contradict the commandments of God and who said He upheld the Law and the Prophets (even making them more binding by including their spirit or intent or attitude - not just the letter of the law) - the same Law and Prophets that condemn the vain attempts to modify pagan holidays to worship the true God.

If folks truly loved God and were appreciative of His Son, grateful for His life and example, they would accept the gracious gifts of the biblical Sabbath and festivals that portray God's plan of salvation for ALL mankind. After all, Yeshua, the disciples, the apostles, and the early Church of God faithfully observed and celebrated them with God's blessing. Every one of them reflect aspects of Christ. Instead folks have exchanged the gifts God has given mankind (through Israel), for cheap counterfeits, baptized paganism, whitewashed holidays, as misled to do by Romanizers pimping their accursed replacement theology.

Besides, what's "merry" about what God condemns? Don't you believe the Bible that whitewashed pagan hollow days are abominations? Aren't you a Bible-believing Christian? National captivity won't seem too merry. Merry national captivity? Merry catastrophe? Think again and have the change of heart God calls upon our nation to experience or suffer the serious consequences!

And for the record, I used to love Christmas and enjoy it with family and friends, because I didn't know better. Once I discovered the truth, that God condemns and hates modified pagan holidays as ABOMINATIONS, I forsook Babylon and quit keeping the unclean holidays, trusting Father knows best (Isa. 55:7-9).

Even if some sincerely mean to glorify and worship God and Christ on Christmas, they're sincerely wrong and their worship REJECTED - according to the Bible. Once God brings this light, this truth, to our attention, we're responsible to let it set us free from religious error and popular sin, not revert to traditional darkness.

And were you aware that our Puritan forefathers outlawed Christmas, and that it was also outlawed in England for awhile too? They recognized Roman Catholicism and its holidays aren't Christian, regardless of how some keep trying to force Christ into something He wants no part of and was never involved with! That's the plain truth.

Despite my efforts to offer you greetings, your obsession with the fact that Christmas has some pagan origins prevents you from even acknowledging a fellow follower of Christ.

You must be real fun at parties, dude.

Of course, your blind zealotry in this thread confirms that the religious traditions you follow are more akin to a cult than a group of believers with free will. Perhaps you should spend more time reading the four Gospels - the closest texts to the essence of Christ - instead of trying to make Old Testament prophets like Isaiah and Daniel fit your twisted visions of a German- and Papacy-led Apocalypse.

"If you were blind..." But you've weakly acknowledged the pagan origins of Christmas and yet continue in its sin and condemn yourself. Your choice.

If you read the Gospels without your traditional blinders on and believe what's written in them, you'll see I faithfully dare to share what's in them, however unpopular among the religious mob or pagan crowd: Yeshua upheld the Law and the Prophets (that condemn the BIG LIE of baptized paganism) that people like you vainly attempt to destroy or deny that you make keep your idolatrous traditions. Nothing new under the sun.

Do you still believe in Santa too? Let's be honest with ourselves.

The legend of Santa Claus can be traced back hundreds of years to a monk named St. Nicholas. It is believed that Nicholas was born sometime around 280 A.D. in Patara, near Myra in modern-day Turkey. Much admired for his piety and kindness, St. Nicholas became the subject of many legends. It is said that he gave away all of his inherited wealth and traveled the countryside helping the poor and sick. One of the best known of the St. Nicholas stories is that he saved three poor sisters from being sold into slavery or prostitution by their father by providing them with a dowry so that they could be married. Over the course of many years, Nicholas's popularity spread and he became known as the protector of children and sailors. His feast day is celebrated on the anniversary of his death, December 6. This was traditionally considered a lucky day to make large purchases or to get married. By the Renaissance, St. Nicholas was the most popular saint in Europe. Even after the Protestant Reformation, when the veneration of saints began to be discouraged, St. Nicholas maintained a positive reputation, especially in Holland.

If man has no tea in him, he is incapable of understanding truth. ~Japanese Proverb

THAT "Santa" is not the one folks lie to their children about, now is it? You know, the one who is greater than God and steals the show? Let's be honest with ourselves. Is that too difficult for some? The NYT lied - there is no Santa!

I know in your world it's a very ugly place. It's convoluted with racism and other assorted maladays. I know your life sucks so bad that the only focus you is race what, equality?

But you want to know something, my narrow-minded poster? There is a Santa Clause. Unfortunately, Santa doesn't dwell within your world because you won't allow it. Sure your hateful diatribe may excite you and stimulate you and the responses just make you all frothy, but none of it has anything to do with Christmas.

Santa is an entity which celebrates the happiness of an experence shared with loved ones. And unless you count your hand, it's looking like the anger has manifested itself into a sorry place to be in your head, all alone.

So tomorrow morning, while you envy the happiness which surrounds you as familes everywhere share in the joy of the holidays, just know this, Santa was at my house.

Sad that you consider the plain truth of the Bible and history (that could set you free from such fables) as "hateful." It is actually TOUGH LOVE, as necessary: believe it or not.

on my group at this site look up NW Ohio Jesus Freaks here on SB. But please post only sparingly , once a week , how about that . Chris , you can banish him to my group at some point in time. I think folk will weary of him eventually , but I will take even him . Mike , your comment s are very good here.

Are you aware that people left out their boots filled with hay, sugar and carrots to feed Odin's steed as he and his fellow gods made their journey around the world? Odin left gifts to the good children who fed his 8 legged horse. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In Norse Mythology, Odin's magical eight-legged steed Sleipnir, was considered the greatest of all horses. Myth has it that the giant Loki after taking the form of a mare, mated with the stallion Svadilfari who gave birth to Sleipnir (whose name means smooth or gliding, and is related to the word "slippery" in English). Odin's steed, Sleipnir was capable of bearing him "over sea, through the air, and to and from the land of the dead." - Christmas, or the nightmare before? Before the Christianization of the region, Germanic folklore sported lively stories of the Norse god Odin, who each winter at Yule, would launch a great hunting party with an entourage of fellow gods and slain warriors recruited from his realm in berzerk fashion - oohh, picture the horror, the DEAD flying through the skies! Little children would stuff their boots full of carrots, straw and sugar for Odin's flying horse to eat, and set them near the chimney at night... Odin, the prototypical Santa, often depicted as an old, bearded, mysterious man, would reward them for their good deed by "replacing Sleipnir's food with gifts or candy." In Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands, this custom survived after the adoption of Christianity, becoming associated with Saint Nicholas. In Dutch folklore, both Saint Nicolas and Odin ride white horses that can fly through the air - alas, there was also a cloth bag to capture naughty children! Letters made of candy given to the children are reminiscent of rune letters bestowed by Odin in Norse legend. Celebrational songs and poems of the season allude to Odin as the god of the arts of poetry. - Today, children place stockings by the chimney at night. Eventually the custom of straw-filled booties (or shoes) migrated to America via the Dutch colony of New Amsterdam. It evolved into the hanging of socks at the fireplace. In many other parts of the world, children are gifted on Saint Nicholas's Day, in accordance with the Catholic calendar. - Eight flying reindeer. Santa's "eight reindeer" of Christmas lore is a mild analogy to the eight legs of Odin's wondrous steed. No, You Shall NOT Worship the Lord Your God as the world Worships THEIR gods

spend much time with the family during this festive holiday day?

is that what is spoken at the dinner table with your family?

I went boogieboarding in the ocean with my sister and her family

guess who had the better holiday, per my perspective lol

Is that the depth of your post? Have you no rebuttal?

Of course you don't. You're happy with the LIE. Better to follow the world and it's gods than to turn your back on the world and SUFFER for Christ's sake.

You Shall NOT Worship the Lord Your God as the Nations Around You Worship THEIR Gods"

why are you trying to convince me that your train of thought is the best one?

I wholeheartedly disagree, carl. It's a weak mind to invoke Jesus Christ, or any Diety that only exists by Faith, to defend your situation. But considering the source of this abstract agenda, it's clear that you are too stupid to rely upon facts, unless you find that Dave's blog site is a reliable source, then you truly are a moron.

And while you have this weak mind, then you aren't reliable nor credible.

And I just exposed you for the fraud that you are.

I'm grabbing my gold star on my way out, no need to get up. ;)

Didn't use david's blogs as a source.

The roots of Christmas are clear to EVERYONE.

It came from Cathgolicism who brought it from PAGAN festivals. They tried to use the PAGAN festivals the "heathen" were used to and impose Christian characters and symbols to lead them into "Christianity". The only problem is, in doing so, they DESTROYED Christianity.

The TRUE followers of Jesus Christ adhere to the "Faith Once Delivered" (by the prophets, a;postles and Yeshuah)

It is also clearly apparent to all that you prove once again when you CAN'T debate the FACTS, you resort to NAME CALLING.

The "moron" is the one who continues to live a lie when NOTHING will exist in the end but TRUTH as GOD defines it

Sorry I injured your Sacred Cow. The only cure for someone DRUNK on Mystery Babylon is to take that first step--ADMIT ERROR

It's EASY once you face the storm and pass thru.

They appear to be the type that get violent when the alarm goes off or somebody tries to shake them out of their deep slumber...

"They" know who "they" are.

Carl ( David), children are not taught to worship or revere poor Rudolf. That would be idolatry. He is just a fun reindeer who the other reindeer made fun of . Maybe you were made fun of at some point in your childhood. Maybe that's why you are so hard on everyone today on Christmas day.

Nobody is "hard" on you. Consider it a learning experience. God (the ONLY God--the GOD of Israel) LOVES you enough to GENTLY call on you to abandon MYTHS and FABLES and follow HIM alone.

God hates mixtures of pagan customs and making them APPEAR "Christian" If you know anything about the inspired Word of God, you'd know that God warns that SATAN appears as an angel of light and truth. His goal is to separate you from the God of Israel.

May your love of God superceede your love of the customs of this world

Just like our British-Israelite ancestors who went into NATIONAL CAPTIVITY, just like they will too if they continue to be proud and stubborn and reject correction.

SO much for tinsel traditions that entangle them and strangle national sovereignty. At least they will know and rember they had been WARNED.

What times does the Westboro Baptist Church have it's services?

that was a genuine rolling on the floor laughing my fool ass off

nice job

…was in Asmara, Ethiopia (now Eritrea) in 1968 when I was in the Army. I did not give presents, nor receive them. I went on the spur of the moment (I actually got the evening off), and went with a friend to supper there at the mission headquarters. After a supper of English and Eritrean dishes I listened as Dr. Gurney, http://uk.reachacross.net/About_Us, related how he came to be there even though he had wanted to go to the Arabian Peninsula.

He grew up on the plains of western Canada (either Alberta or Saskatchewan), and his mother (who came from England) had a picture on her living room wall of a grave covered with flat, jagged stones. He also had that picture on the wall of the living room of the mission. It showed where his grandfather was buried in Arabia after dying there shortly after arriving. He had come to preach the Gospel, and died of disease, I think.

Dr. Gurney went on to relate how, after attaining his medical degree, he had arrived in Ethiopia with the hope of taking up his grandfather’s mission. He could not get the necessary permits. He had learned Arabic, but seemingly could not attain his goal. He was asked by his sponsors to go south because there was an outbreak of plague there. He demurred because he could not speak the language. They begged him to go, and when he arrived there he found that the language spoken was Arabic. That was providential.

That evening I sat spellbound as this man of faith related his life, and how what seemed obstacles worked for something better. I am not a man of faith, but I admire those who are. I wish I could believe sometimes but it does not seem rational to me. We are supposed to believe in a Supreme Being rather than many gods as the ancients (and some tribals still do) believe. I remember a Hindu friend once relating that it makes as much sense to believe in the snake of Hindu mythology that whirls around in the milk until it gives rise to the essence of the universe as it does to believe in Genesis literally. Thank God (or whoever) that we are not all “true believers”. Many of us can claim Christianity without believing in the literal reading of Genesis.

Yes, many can claim whatever they want (1 John 2:4), there are many professing Christians, but it doesn't make it so.

If you have doubts, little faith about a literal Genesis, try reading MIT scientist and Orthodox Jew Gerald Schroeder's books, Genesis and the Big Bang and The Science of God (mentioned within Does The Bible Teach There Were Human Prototypes? They could strengthen your faith and further instill awe within you for our Great Creator God. Did you see the stars in Ethiopian skies?

I used to be a Hindu for awhile, until the gracious God of Israel delivered me from its darkness.

A Higher Calling: Quest for the Kingdom of God

...of artificial light) once you got several miles outside of town. I guess a disbelief that Genesis is literal would be the beginning of my doubts. Even if Genesis were true, then maybe God left on a holiday to let us slaughter one another. He gives us free will, and then gets pissed when we exercise it. If we were made in his image I have to wonder if He is what we now term a schizophrenic.
