The Obama 'Kiss of Death' Hits Toledo

I missed Rush this afternoon, so while listening to the podcast tonight my ears perked up when I heard Toledo being mentioned.

So...there was Jon Corzine (NJ), Creigh Deeds (VA), Martha Coakley (MA), the Kansas Jayhawks (March Madness) and unfortunately this has now hit locally with Amanda VanNess.

Let me first start off by saying that this is a terrible situation for Ms. VanNess. Losing a job is never pleasant, even though Marcy Kaptur thinks that I would know nothing about such experiences. That being said, I think this again raises the question as to why anyone should even consider voting for the TPS levy. According to this article, the Federal Government pumped $7.6 million of our tax dollars into the district with what appears to be, at best, mixed results and now we are being asked to "double down" with even more of our tax dollars. You know what they say about insanity; doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result.

One other underlying note, did you notice who the White House contacted about Ms. VanNess attending the event? If you guessed her employer, the Toledo Public Schools, you would be wrong. The correct (and probably more predictable) answer was her union.

No votes yet

Is Rush still performing? And they have a song about Toledo? Kick-ass! Man, I loved their stuff from the '70s.

Patience is a great virtue.
