The "Ducks" looked so impressive last week, I see them in the top 5!

Tell me you're not serious, please.
They barely got by Indiana last week.

Iowa? Credibility FAIL. You forgot to subtract points for all Big Ten teams in relation to the South, due to inferior talent levels.

You get a point for each win and lose a point for each loss. 1-AA teams- you get a half point for a win, lose two points for a loss. Divide the total by the number of games played. Margin of victory not a factor.

No bias against non-BCS schools.

Iowa's wins are simply better right now. Iowa State and Arizona are playing better than expected and at least Iowa played a decent 1-AA team.

However, Florida is gaining fast and has one, probably two more games than Iowa to play. I could see Florida moving past Iowa when all is said and done.

in real life Iowa finishes about 5th in the SEC (two divisions combined).

I'd point out that the BCS is a 'formula' too- a formula that's skewed against non-BCS teams.

But do we really know how good Iowa is? If there was a college football tournament that was fair and open to non-BCS schools, we would find out how good Iowa really is...and Boise State...and TCU...and Cincinnati...

for the update AHG.

Your questions are valid AH. Formulas to decide the best teams is a crazy way to go. That being said, thanks for adding more formulas. :)

P.S. I'm sure Congress will be holding hearings soon enough.
