Keith Wilkowski will be a guest tomorrow at 7a to talk about the Odesky poll, his run for mayor, and the mayor's reaction which is an interesting read in and of itself. Off to the showers. I have a feeling there will be a number fark stories to follow as it appears that each time I post littlered decides that posting fark stories will move me down the page. Brilliant strategy and one I'm sure to win many converts.

Starting a candidacy 19 months ahead of the election brings the potential for voter antipathy. It's a mayoral election, for cryin' out loud. It's not like you have to criss-cross the nation to get the word out. If you're not careful, a year and a half from now, voters might be as fatigued by you as they are by Finkbeiner. I don't think commissioning a poll, releasing it to media and then doing radio interviews is a good strategy right now. I think you probably should have waited until we decided, in November 2008, who should be our next U.S. president. That's a bit more important than selecting Toledo's mayor in November 2009. Your "chomping at the bit" tactic is not going to sit well with a lot of people. And, by the way, you could have done a much better job at trying to get an Obama victory in Ohio in the March primary. Yours and Wade K's efforts proved to be very disappointing.

... Keith's LATE, if anything. We've been suffering under Czarty's rule for yet another term, and Wilkie Boy has had ample opportunity to criticize Czarty for years now. Where was Wilkie Boy when Czarty was trying to kill off the Westgate project?
Let's see if Wilkie Boy has developed any balls or brains for the next 19 months ... of if he's just another local political opportunist who wants his turn at the mayoral trough.

I would like to know what changes Keith will actually bring. How would he do things differently to reverse the downward trend this area has suffered for the last 20 years, when some of his candidates (wasn't he the Democratic Chair?) were in power and candidates of his own party?

Fred, I think Red does this because she doesn't want to see anything on SB that isn't vacuous. A lot of serious posts and replies have gotten lost in the sea of "a little humor". Well, a little becomes a lot after a while.
pete, when you are talking about me please direct any problems you have about me to me. i have told you many times IF YOU DON'T WANT TO READ THE STORIES DON'T CLICK ON THEM! how hard is it to get through to you? this is a free site for anyone to post stories they want. if you want more stories that interest you, then feel free to do so. btw, i have noticed you don't post many stories that interest you, why is that? do you like criticizing me instead? i've said this one before, but apparently you weren't listening, this is chris' site, if he does not see a problem with it, than i'm not sure why you do.

when there is a story i don't like, or am not interested in, then i don't bother reading it, or responding, maybe you can try doing the same, and quit attacking me. it's getting old.
Honey, these are not personal attacks on you. They are observations about the quality of your posts and the likelihood that some serious posts and comments will get lost in the morass of Fark citings. I believe I have a right to comment on your posts as much as you have to comment on mine. This thing cuts both ways. Don't cry foul if I exercise the same right that you have.

i agree we have a right to our own opinions. however, you keep saying the same thing over and over again on several threads. i understand how you feel, that's fine, but do you really need to keep repeating yourself? what is the point? so what we disagree, can we just leave it at that?
Are you thick? The reason I keep saying the same thing is because I hope it sinks in, but you don't acknowledge what I am saying. You keep telling me not to read your posts... well, I don't read them. But that is not the problem. You don't LISTEN to what I am saying. IT"S IMPOSSIBLE TO AVOID YOUR POSTS EVEN IF ONE DOESN'T READ THEM BECAUSE THE RECENT COMMENTS SECTION IS DEVOTED TO YOUR TRIVIA AND ANY THREAD THAT WAS ONGOING IS LOST. Can you understand that? The last time you preempted me with your amusing stories, I had spent some amount of time researching and writing a serious reply to a serious poster, only to have your trivial posts and the subsequent replies overwhelm the entire topic under discussion. An important topic was lost in an ocean of blather about this and that. The Recent Comments section was so far lost to the trivia at hand that any replies to the serious topic were buried. The discussion I was interested in stopped dead in its tracks. Sorry if I sound a little bitter about your light stories deep-sixing a serious discussion about something worthwhile.
But, o.k. I give up. You win, Red. This blog is beginning to deteriorate into something I am not interested in anyway. See ya. It was fun while it lasted.
I came to the conclusion - not specifically with this poster but with that type of posting - that they not only want to control what they say and do but they'd like to direct what others do as well.
The degree they are willing to go to varies. Pete, to my knowledge, hasn't been abusive - he's just repeating himself until the other side caves :-)
But I've been called awful names online by people who were so upset that I didn't agree to anything they wanted and I didn't fall into a mental lockstep with their beliefs.
I think they're called controlling personalities?

i'm not even going to bother responding, not worth the effort. it's a beautiful night, my family is hanging out having a good time. i'd rather spend time with them. life is too short to argue with people who keep repeating themselves. :)
