A bird-watcher killed a cat, should he serve the max. sentence (2 yrs.) and pay the max. fine (10,000$)?

Dottie

I've had allergic reactions to cats my entire life. It is very unpleasant for me to be around cats! I have jokingly said that the only good cat is a dead cat. Now I would not harm an animal intentionally.

Frankly I'm not too familiar with the laws involving this type of situation. But this kind of sentence seems a bit over the top. Just curious, why not trap the cat and pass it on to those who would find it a home? Just not my home!
I can't say the bird watcher made the best choice.

How about a link to the story.

I see the link in the story above - was drawn to the poll and missed the story.

My bad!

The secret to getting cats off your property is to put food out on your neigbors property, do this for about a week and the cat will go there looking for food. 8-)

We put leftovers and scraps out front for our neighborhood cats, it keeps them out of the garbage in the back yard.
