Awaiting use of a "big stick" on North Korea

Tagged:

As a candidate, Lyin' Don the Michelin Man who never met a burger he didn't like, talked really, really tough about America's enemies. One of those enemies was, and is, North Korea. In a most untypical fashion, after North Korea tested a medium-range ballistic missile, Lyin' Don stood in silence and let Japan's Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe, make a strong statement of condemnation of North Korea's provocative act. Lyin' Don then made a very short statement of full support for Japan's position on this issue.
Is Lyin' Don now coming to the realization that Teddy Roosevelt was right? It was Teddy who quoted an African proverb when he said, "Speak softly and carry a big stick; you will go far." So, the POTUS did speak softly this week. I'm awaiting the "big stick." Until this time, it appeared that Lyin' Don was doing the exact OPPOSITE! He talked loudly, and did little or nothing. We'll see.

On a related note, the current King of North Korea, Kim Jong Un [I know. His official title is, " Chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea and supreme leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea"], was made more secure on his throne [in his dictatorship] because his elder half-brother Kim Jong Nam was mysteriously assassinated in Malaysia. While both had claims to the throne of North Korea because they were both the sons and grandsons of the Kim dynasty, Kim Jong Nam seemed to have no interest AT ALL in being a national leader. In fact, there is some evidence that Nam even wrote a letter to Un begging that his life be spared. And, a lot is tied to a volcanic mountain along the border of North Korea and China. Here's a very informative article about the assassination of Kim Jong Nam: http://www.cbsnews.com/news/kim-jong-nam-half-brother-kim-jong-un-assass...

The Donald needs to quit tweeting, going to Florida every weekend and getting personal with the press and do his job. Wonder what our right wing conservative friends on this board think what a wonderful job he is doing so far?

Hope I didn't offend anyone!

met a burger he didn't like, who criticized Obama for not being in the White House enough?
Ironic, huh!

Donnahoney -- IMHO...as long as Lyin' Don buys off the conservatives with tax cuts -- even though those cuts will be much greater for the super-rich than they will be for the common conservative/Republican voter -- the conservatives will be falling all over themselves to praise him. Many conservatives claim to be ultra-religious, but most pray only to the holy shrines of money, money, money! They claim to be "patriotic," but they only care about Americans who are the most like themselves. They claim to be outraged by crimes, but they ignore the crimes committed by white supremacists. Most claim to be "pro-life," but they turned the other way when super-rich women flew off to Sweden or Japan for "vacations" and came back a few weeks later sans pregnancies in the pre-Roe v Wade days. In fact, most conservatives embrace xenophobia, segregation, and misogyny!
In short, almost all conservatives simply ADORE Lyin' Don and his messages of intolerance!! We, who are outraged by all this along with his gross incompetence, just have to suck it up and deal with it!

Have you noticed its people I don't like trump that want him to stop tweeting?

I wonder why that is?

MikeyA

hope he keeps tweeting his little heart out! It makes great fodder for all of the comedians. It also indicates that the Michelin Man who never met a burger he didn't like, has A LOT of time on his hands, because his job as POTUS is so overwhelming, he chooses to ignore putting in the time to actually do the job to which he was elected. It's really quite sad.
But, as I said above, I'm sucking it up and dealing with the reality of it.

I notice that you use a lot of insults when discussing the President.

Aren't you glad that I stayed above that type of behavior when President Obama was in power?

MikeyA

*Lyin' Don the Michelin Man who never met a burger he didn't like disparaged war hero John McCain, by stating, "I like people who weren't captured." Remind me again, Mikey. Where was Lyin Don during the entire Vietnam War?
*Lyin' Don consistently called Marco Rubio "Little Marco." And stated, (like this is SO IMPORTANT when one is running for POTUS),“He sweats more than any young person I’ve ever seen in my life.”
*Lyin' Don consistently called Hillary Clinton "crooked Hillary." He also called her "corrupt Hillary." (BTW -- When are those indictments of Hillary coming?)
*Lyin Don had the nerve to call someone else a liar! Remember his calling Ted Cruz, "Lyin' Ted?"
*Lyin Don called Jeb Bush, "Low energy Jeb."
*Lyin' Don called Bernie Sanders, "Crazy Bernie."
*Lyin' Don called John Kasich, "1 for 38 Kasich."
*Lyin' Don called Elizabeth Warren "Goofy Elizabeth Warren."
*Lyin' Don on Carly Fiorina: "Look at that face!" he cries. "Would anyone vote for that? Can you imagine that, the face of our next president?!"

Now, Mikey, really, should little me, Mr. Nobody, writing on a local site not disparage this internationally well-known phenomenon who is so mean to others who hold high office, and/or run for POTUS!? Lyin' Don seems to be especially nasty to women who have the temerity to challenge him. Under the term misogynist, are newer dictionaries going to have a picture of The Michelin Man who never met a burger he didn't like, as a prototype?
You know, Mikey, for someone who claims to NOT like Lyin' Don, and who claims to have NOT voted for him, you sure jump to his defense a lot!! Hmmm...

I defend anyone from unfair personal attacks. Ironically it was on this board where I defended President Obama from a then citizen Donald Trump over unfair attacks over a birth certificate.

I do that because I have a deep respect for the office and the people who hold it. Ever notice I referred to President Obama or as just Obama?

Show me a policy of Trump's I've defended? I'm happy to discuss them but most the discussion is centered around things that are not policy like tweets.

MikeyA

I will stop insulting him. When he starts speaking and acting like a mature POTUS, I will treat him with respect. Until then, I will continue to insult the insulter!
All evidence leads to the conclusion that for the rest of his life I will be insulting him! Leopards don't change their spots!

Well I guess I just have more respect for the office than you.

MikeyA

Lyin' Don the Michelin Man who never met a burger he didn't like will get my respect as soon as he shows respect to others. Obama earned our respect by the way he leads his life, and by the respect he shows others.

"Well I guess I just have more respect for the office than you."
Too bad Trump doesn't have more respect for the office.

Hope I didn't offend anyone!

Fool's joke. It's another tweet from the Tweeter-in-Chief: "When will Sleepy Eyes Chuck Todd and @NBC News start talking about the Obama SURVEILLANCE SCANDAL and stop with the Fake Trump/Russia story?"
As I stated, when Lyin' Don the Michelin Man who never met a burger he didn't like, stops making nasty personal comments against others, I will stop making the same types of comments against him!

You keep wondering Mike. All of Trumps tweeting and press attacks is nothing but a diversion. One simple act would clarify it all :
RELEASE YOUR TAX RETURN!

Hope I didn't offend anyone!

stop doing his impression on SNL!!

Is that why you want him to stop tweeting? Because he didn't release his tax return?

MikeyA

Hi Mikey. I want him to stop tweeting because I'm embarrassed for him. He sounds like a moron most of the time.
BTW, why is he still campaigning at taxpayer expense? Don't he know he won?
Why won't he release his tax return?

Hope I didn't offend anyone!

Well I am embarrassed for you. It's "Doesn't he know that he won?".

He doesn't have to release his tax return. You should move on from that issue.

MikeyA

to be the "grammar police" on this site? If so, look out! Don't type too quickly. Check everything over, Mikey!

I wasn't replying to you.

MikeyA

I choose. Too bad, Mikey. Watch your typing!

See my response to DH on how you missed the point. I've been relatively consistent on communication.

MikeyA

Are you going to scrutinize the grammar of all of those in Lyin Don's administration, too?

READ THE POST!

It's clear by this and your other post that you didn't read my response to her.

It's clear I really don't give a shit about grammar and I did that to show her a point.

You have a problem with reading comprehension.

MikeyA

You are trying to belittle a critic of yours, and cast yourself above them, Mikey! I get it, all righty!!
Watch your typing, Grammar Police!

LOL Says the guy who does little more than insult and ramble on here.

MikeyA

Watch your typing!

And I should take lessons on being nice from an insult king like you?

Good deflection on that grammar error Spicer, I mean Mikey. I know he "doesn't have to release his tax returns". If he did it would show that he is no where as rich as he claims.
It will also show how much debt he is in, especially his financial ties with the Russians.
There are going to be a lot of people making a ton of a money off Trumps presidency but people like you won't be one of them, Sorry.

Hope I didn't offend anyone!

I was merely pointing out a point that someone's communication shouldn't be dictated by others. In truth I don't give a shit about your grammar or how you convey your ideas. Just as you shouldn't care about the form the President chooses. Focus on the meaning of the message.

MikeyA

"...give a shit..." Mikey. Hmmm...

tweets from Lyin' Don. One of his latest tweets:
"The FAKE NEWS media (failing @nytimes, @NBCNews, @ABC, @CBS, @CNN) is not my enemy, it is the enemy of the American People!" And the original tweet ending with the word "SICK." [now deleted]
And here is John McCain's response:
"'Such talk,' McCain, R-Ariz., said on NBC News in an interview set to air Sunday, was 'how dictators get started.'" and:
"In other words, a consolidation of power," McCain told "Meet the Press" host Chuck Todd from Munich. "When you look at history, the first thing that dictators do is shut down the press. And I'm not saying that President Trump is trying to be a dictator. I'm just saying we need to learn the lessons of history."
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/politics/ct-john-mccain-c...
No wonder the Michelin Man who never met a burger he didn't like, has such a bromance with Vladimir Putin!

Dale, do you think Putin has video of Russian whores giving Trump a golden shower?

Hope I didn't offend anyone!

never met a burger he didn't like turns out to be a real, life "Manchurian Candidate." If so, maybe Vlad the Impaler DOES have such a video!!

Dale, seems to me the old school conservatives were not the ones who got him elected. It was the white, lower middle class citizen who fell for Trumps bullshit and decided to vote all of sudden. You should distinguish between the rich conservative and the want to be rich conservative.

Hope I didn't offend anyone!

conservatives talked as though they would not vote for Lyin' Don the Michelin Man who never met a burger he didn't like, and a twice-divorced person who was well known to have cheated on his wives and girl friends, [some family values], but when it came time to actually vote, he got their support overwhelmingly. In election cycle after election cycle, Republicans have consistently used the same strategy. They draw attention away from pocketbook issues and focus voters on the three Gs instead. Lyin' Don doubled down on this by adding xenophobia and other types of bigotry to the mix.
What projected him to victory was:
* Lower voter turnout. Republicans have done everything in their power to discourage voting, including running extremely negative campaigns to just turn off casual voters. Most casual voters vote Democratic.
* Women did not support Hillary in large numbers. In fact, Hillary actually LOST the white women's vote 53%-43%. Overall, Hillary's lead over Lyin' Don among all women was almost identical to that of Obama.
* African-Americans did not turn out in large numbers, as they did for Obama. Part of the lower turnout may have been because of the unreasonable barriers to voting erected by Republicans in most of our states.
* Hispanic voters did not turn out in numbers large enough to offset the drop in African-American voters from 2012 to 2016.
* Lyin' Don's appeal to the worst in human nature worked to shift enough traditional, blue collar Democrats into the Republican column.
* Finally, Hillary was just a poor campaigner, and was, quite simply, not likable enough. This could well account for the fact that women did NOT show up in record numbers, nor vote in record percentages, for a female candidate against a male who is on tape stating some of the most misogynistic statements ever recorded!

In short, it was definitely Hillary's election to lose; and she lost it!

Voter turnout as a whole remained virtually unchanged from 2012.

Hillary losing women just demonstrated her lack of appeal.

Not only did Blacks not show but Trump won larger percentages of Blacks and Hispanics than Romney.

MikeyA

The number of white voters increased from 2012!
The percentages of all eligible American voters who actually vote is embarrassingly low compared to other true democracies. While the United States barely breaks over 50% of all of those eligible, Belgium, for example, had a voter participation rate of 87.2%! http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2016/08/02/u-s-voter-turnout-trails... Congratulations to the Republicans -- voter suppression works!
And, as I pointed out above, " Lyin' Don's appeal to the worst in human nature worked to shift enough traditional, blue collar Democrats into the Republican column."
Really, Mikey! Can you imagine what would have happened if, before either the 2008 or 2012 Election, there had been a recording with Obama stating anything close to what Lyin' Don the Michelin Man who never met a burger he didn't like, said about grabbing women?
There is one standard for most people, and a totally different one for a super-rich celebrity!

Why are you comparing turnout rates of the US to other countries?

The total turnout remained unchanged from 2012. If you disagree then post a source.

MikeyA

you choose to comment. You missed the part about demonstrably LOWER voter turnout among African-Americans, and HIGHER among white voters. This from the Forbes website, referring to how lower turnout among African-Americans as the main reason why Hillary lost Michigan: "Mote [for Mikey, aka the Grammar Police, should be spelled More. I copied this directly. Glad I spotted the spelling error for the Grammar Police!] than 75,000 Motown Obama voters did not bother to vote for Clinton! They did not become Trump voters – Trump received only 10,000 votes more than Romney did in this county. They simply stayed at home."
This fits precisely into the Republican play book. They want to raise barriers to voting which have a great effect of voter suppression upon minorities than among others. I also agreed that Lyin' Don drew some normally reliable Democratic voters into his camp by appealing to their fears, even though those appeals were enormously exaggerated!

Now, as far as total turnout in the Unites States, as opposed to other countries, I'll post background information, not for you Mikey, because you already know this, but for others who read here. When I was first active in Democratic politics, it was back in the 1960s! (Yes. I know that I'm old.) One of the prime "rules" we learned was that most elections turned on total voter turnout. The greater the voter turnout in any election, the better (overall) the Democrats did. The lower the voter turnout, the better Republicans did. More of the "casual" voters tended to vote for Democratic candidates, while more of the consistent, every time voters voted for Republicans.
It's now 50 years later. This still holds true. As a percentage of eligible voters, the highest voter participation rate in recent elections was in 2008. It is no coincidence that, not only was Obama elected as POTUS in that election, but Democrats won a majority in both the House of Representatives and the United States Senate that year. In 2012, there was a drop-off. While Obama won re-election, the Democrats lost the House. In 2014, in off-year elections, with lower voter turnout, the Democrats lost the U.S. Senate as well.
Whether you accept it or not, Mikey, one long-term strategy of the Republican Party is to suppress the total who vote. The fact that the United States ranks so low among Democracies in the percentage of those eligible who actually cast ballots, is one indication of the effectiveness of voter suppression by the Republicans. They are really good at it! According to the Pew Research Center: "By that measure, the U.S. lags most of its peers, landing 31st among the 35 countries in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, most of whose members are highly developed, democratic states."
In more recent years, mostly at the state levels, Republicans have been very effective at targeting minority voters for their voter suppression efforts. And, among the tactics Republicans have employed, have been running extremely negative campaigns at all levels. Republicans have been highly effective using these tactics. I do not foresee a time when they will change, as long as they are successful. If they keep potential voters turned off of the process, suppress voting among minorities, and divert attention away from pocketbook issues and onto the 3 Gs and other emotional issues instead, Republicans will continue to be successful in election campaigns!

BTW -- Still awaiting use of the "Big Stick" against North Korea!

Sorry Dale but Black voter turnout just returned to pre-Obama numbers. So Clinton got the same turnout as every other white Dem running for office.

http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2016/11/09/behind-trumps-victory-di...

MikeyA

population is up by at least 2,000,000 people since 2008, of which at least 1,500,000 are eligible to vote! In addition, the lower-than-expected turnout among Hispanics, can also be explained, at least partially, by the successful voter suppression efforts of the Republican Party, particularly at the state level. And this occurred at a time when the legal, eligible-to-vote, Hispanic population in America is increasing at a greater rate than that of African Americans!
Mikey, as usual, you pick and choose how you refer to my posts. That's OK. That's part of the debate. I would just like to point out that I did acknowledge the weakness of Hillary's candidacy:
"Finally, Hillary was just a poor campaigner, and was, quite simply, not likable enough. This could well account for the fact that women did NOT show up in record numbers, nor vote in record percentages, for a female candidate against a male who is on tape stating some of the most misogynistic statements ever recorded!
In short, it was definitely Hillary's election to lose; and she lost it! "
Hillary's failure to ignite the Democratic base extended beyond women to minority voters as well. Lyin' Don's appeal to fear within American hearts extended to women and minorities, too. There are ALWAYS multiple reasons why elections are won and lost. However, there is no doubt that voter suppression, especially aimed at minorities and prototypical Democratic voters, has been a major part of Republican strategy for at least 50 years! Mikey, please keep in mind, that Hillary out-polled her main opponent by nearly 3,000,000 popular votes, even though she lost in the hackneyed, undemocratic Electoral College.
BTW -- Where is the evidence that millions of illegal votes were cast? The current administration has not been shy about using the awesome powers of government to get their way.
And...where are the indictments against Hillary for all of the alleged crimes she has committed?
Still awaiting that Big Stick use on North Korea! Oops! I forgot. Lyin' Don the Michelin Man who never met a burger he didn't like seems to be afraid to give Kim Jung Un a hard time, especially after Kim's half brother was assassinated by two young women rubbing poison on his face. Could this have been practice for literally "rubbing out" the current American POTUS? After all, would he be likely to see attractive young women as a threat to him? They might be rubbing stuff on his face while he is reaching for their nether regions. Hmmm...

Conservatives didn't elect him. Moderates and white working class did.

MikeyA

they claim to have, they would have refused to vote for Lyin' Don the Michelin Man who never met a burger he didn't like! He is twice-divorced person who cheated on his wives BEFORE he was legally divorced, and hardly lives with his current trophy wife now! But, being the hypocrites that they are, the conservatives voted for the misogynistic, serial philanderer, both in the Primaries AND in the General Election! (You probably did, too, Mikey, at least in the General Election. You just won't admit it!)
BTW -- Obama is still married to his ONLY wife. There have been ZERO rumors about any infidelity involving either Barack or Michelle. In other words, there's a great reason why Obama is so well respected. He earns respect every day by the way he actually lives his life!!

Sometimes I don't know if Trump is liar, ignorant. or just confused.
He keeps saying "I inherited a mess".
He is wrong. Obama inherited a mess.
Trump inherited a fortune from his daddy.

Hope I didn't offend anyone!

Well put, Donnahoney!!

How many riots occurred in the two years prior to Obama's election?

MikeyA

8 years ago, the "town hall" meetings of mostly Democratic office holders were emotional explosions by Tea Party types. Now, these near-riots are at "town halls"for mostly Republican office holders and the disruptions are mostly among people concerned about losing health care coverage if the ACA is repealed.
BTW-- Hundreds of thousands in America, and millions around the world have participated in overwhelmingly PEACEFUL MASS demonstrations against the man for whom you have a bromance going, Mikey. I'll admit it. Overall, those opposing the current POTUS have been MUCH less violent than were those opposing Obama!

Mikey -- The Republicans have been ranting against the ACA for almost 8 years now. When ARE they going to remove the ACA? What "plan" have they developed to replace the ACA in these past 8 years? While Obama was the POTUS, according to the Forbes website: "Republicans in the House voted to repeal Obamacare or greatly cripple it on 60 some odd occasions."
An all Republican-controlled Congress has been in ofice for almost 2 months, now, and there is a Republican POTUS! When was the vote to repeal the ACA? I seem to have missed that one. Where is the replacement for the ACA? I seem to have missed that announcement. Isn't 8 years enough time to develop an alternative program? (We know that the current Republican leadership CAN produce "alternative facts.")
Oops! I forgot! The ACA (or Obamacare) IS a Republican idea! it is Romneycare! It's based upon the program Romney pushed in Massachusetts when he was Governor there!
Hmmm...

The Tea Party responded to town halls of both Democrats and Republicans. They used that groundswell of anger to flip swing districts to Tea Party candidates and thus put the House firmly into Republican hands in less than two years. It was about accountability to the electorate.

These protests are not in swing districts. They are only in Republican town halls. They are only protests to try to stop an agenda not about the electorate.

I predict they will not equate to a loss of House seats nor stopping the GOP from gaining in the Senate.

MikeyA

The protests are almost identical! Yes. The Tea Party targeted those Republicans they considered to be RINOs along with Democrats they felt were vunerable to losing re-election. The same will occur if the pro-ACA folks find Democrats who state that they will vote to repeal the ACA. And, because of the protests, it appears that Republicans are unlikely to dismantle the ACA. http://fortune.com/2017/02/23/john-boehner-obamacare-repeal/ In short, both are political movements with specific goals. Only the goals are different.
I repeat, while Obama was in office, The Republican-controlled House voted about 60 TIMES to repeal the ACA. Why have Republicans who have now had control of BOTH the House AND the Senate for nearly 2 months, not passed a bill to repeal the ACA? And where is the Republican replacement for the ACA? Republicans have had almost 8 years to unite behind a replacement plan. Where is it?

The GOP cannot beat a filibuster l. So whatever they come up with must get 60 votes. That takes time.

In the meantime they will defund it and it will die the death of 1000 cuts. It's already started.

I think a full repeal and replace will come after 2018. When the GOP holds close to 55 seats.

MikeyA

years were empty gestures.
AND the GOP has no plan to replace the ACA!

It's easy to snipe from the outside. It's tough to govern.

BTW -- There are ways to get around the 60 vote requirement. Both parties have done this. Lyin' Don has called for it. Why is it not happening??

I LOVE your predictions about future elections. They are written in sand at a beach, Mikey! Boehner's predicting NO actual "repeal and replace." Who has a better chance of being correct here...Mikey or John? Hmmm...

And keep that bromance going with Lyin' Don the Michelin Man who never met a burger he didn't like, Mikey! He's keeping his bromance going with Vlad the Impaler!

Not empty gestures when you're doing what you were elected to do.

MikeyA

Lyin' Don the Michelin Man who never met a burger he didn't like is a prototypical bully. He picks on those who are easy prey. (And he picks on friendly nations, too.)

How about North Korea?
How about Vlad the Impaler?

Keep that bromance going, Mikey!

Can't wait for Lyin Don the Michelin Man who never met a burger he didn't like, to make a move against North Korea!

If those Democrats don't get a strong candidate who can get down in the mud like the conservatives can they will lose in 2020 also.
The reason you see all these right wing conservatives all coming to Washington to bow down and run their tongue up Thumps ass even after all the insults they hurled at each other
is because they realize there is a lot of money to be made with this new investigation.
why didn't Thump put Hillary in jail like he promised? Is it because he trying to unite the country? LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

Hope I didn't offend anyone!

Dale, black turnout percentage went back to pre-Obama levels. It doesn't matter that their population grew.

We agree Hillary is a poor campaigner. I noted this before she won the nomination and said it again when people here predicted a Trump nomination would cede her the election.

You and the rest of the Dems are focusing on Trump. You're protesting and blocking traffic. These are failures and exercises in futility. You cannot stop most of the Trump agenda. The GOP currently holds too much power.

What you should be doing is reforming your own party. Trump called yesterday's DNC chair election correctly, it's rigged. And guess who wants to run in 2020? Hillary Clinton (aka two time loser).

Your party is racing to become irrelevant. I was explaining this on this site back in 2008 when people like pink slip were telling me that the demographics were favoring Dem rule for a generation. In the meantime the Tea Party reformed internal party operations and now hold the Presidency.

The Sanders wing could do this but the Trump derangement is preventing it.

MikeyA

counting on a GOP victory. Then, in 2012, you were SURE that Obama would be defeated for re-election. AND, all of the conservatives I read here and elsewhere predicted that the Democratic policies from 2009 forward would lead to economic collapse. What a convenient, and forgetful, memory you have! Aren't you a little young to have Alzheimer's, Mikey?

BTW -- Way back after the LBJ/Democratic landslide of 1964, many liberals were predicting the collapse of the Republican Party. I laughed at them, too. The two major parties are much more adaptable than their greatest critics would have us believe. Don't count the Democrats out so quickly and so easily, Mikey! Wishful thinking on your part?

Where is it?

anything bad.
This is typical of Lyin' Don the Michelin Man who never met a burger he didn't like. Before all of the facts were known to the public about the goals of the mission, here's his tweet posted February 9th, (in three parts...he LOVES tweeting, but there are just not enough characters per tweet for him to fully express himself): "Sen. McCain should not be talking about the success or failure of a mission to the media. Only emboldens the enemy! He's been losing so.......long he doesn't know how to win anymore, just look at the mess our country is in - bogged down in conflict all over the place. Our hero...Ryan died on a winning mission ( according to General Mattis), not a 'failure.' Time for the U.S. to get smart and start winning again!"http://www.npr.org/2017/02/10/514378178/fact-check-trumps-yemen-raid-winning-mission-or-failure-its-not-so-simple
As of February 9th, Lyin' Don was defending the mission as a "success." Now that we know that the primary goals were NOT achieved, here's what Lyin' Don is saying: "This was a mission that was started before I got here," Trump said on "Fox and Friends". "This was something they wanted to do. They came to see me, they told me what they wanted to do, the generals, who are very respected — my generals are most respected we've had in many decades, I believe. And they lost Ryan."
I don't know about those who read here, but when it comes to the success or failure of a military mission, I'll tend to believe someone like Sen. John McCain, who actually trained as a military man, who was part of several missions, and fully understands them, before I'll take the analysis of someone who avoided being a member of the military at all costs!
In addition, when Lyin' Don still considered the mission to be potentially good for his image, he made the decision to order it into action. However, now that it has been shown to have failed, Lyin' Don blames the previous POTUS! Since it is well known that the planning was done months ago, and Obama could have ordered the raid before he left office, which POTUS actually ordered the raid? So...which POTUS should take the blame?
Lyin' Don the Michelin Man who never met a burger he didn't like has been surrounded by sycophants who praise him and never chastise him his entire life. As a prototypical narcissist, he cannot stand criticism! If something goes wrong, he NEVER sees it as his fault. He finds someone else to blame. He can't really help it. That's the way people have trained him his entire life, starting with his doting daddy.

BTW -- Another day goes by, and still no "Big Stick" use on North Korea.
Still waiting!

Lyin' Don the Michelin Man who never met a burger he didn't like, LOVES to attack American judges and American companies. Why not North Korea?

Until Thump releases his tax returns he will never be a legitimate president.

Hope I didn't offend anyone!

...that fits Lyin' Don the Michelin Man who never met a burger he didn't like. It goes, "And it won't make one bit of difference, if I answer right or wrong. When you're rich they think you really know."
Also, most Americans hate taxes SO MUCH, they admire anyone who can legally avoid paying taxes. After all, he's rich. Shouldn't he be able to use his wealth to influence Congress to enact tax loopholes favoring him, and hire accountants to take advantage of those loopholes?

BTW -- I agree with you that among the reasons why Lyin' Don will never issue his tax returns is that they will show he has a NET worth that is not nearly so high as he claims. I also believe it will reveal too much about how entangled Trump Enterprises is both in Russia, and in Middle Eastern nations which have been behind, and/or encouraged attacks on the United States and Americans overseas.

Another day passes. STILL no Big Stick used on North Korea.

The latest off-the-cuff lie being tweeted by Lyin' Don the Michelin Man who never met a burger he didn't like, falsely accuses Barack Obama of ordering the wiretapping of Trump's offices. As Lyin' Don falsely charged: "Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my "wires tapped" in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!" And: "How low has President Obama gone to tapp(sic) my phones during the very sacred election process. This is Nixon/Watergate. Bad (or sick) guy!"
He has no proof, of course. There is no evidence of this being done. But Lyin' Don tells lies as if they were truths!
Here is the action FBI Director James Comey has taken: "The F.B.I. director, James B. Comey, asked the Justice Department this weekend to publicly reject President Trump’s assertion that President Barack Obama ordered the tapping of Mr. Trump’s phones, senior American officials said on Sunday. Mr. Comey has argued that the highly charged claim is false and must be corrected, they said, but the department has not released any such statement.
Mr. Comey made the request on Saturday after Mr. Trump leveled his allegation on Twitter. Mr. Comey has been working to get the Justice Department to knock down Mr. Trump’s claim because there is no evidence to support it and it insinuates that the F.B.I. broke the law, the officials said."
Lyin' Don has no respect for his own country, and America's institutions. He doesn't know who in the world are enemies of the United States, and who are friends. It was fine with him when there was evidence that Russia had hacked into Hillary's email server. Haven't the Russians been antagonistic to the United States at least since Vlad the Impaler has been in charge? Now that there is NO EVIDENCE that the Obama Administration tapped Trump phones, Lyin' Don justs runs with it as if it were the truth!
This shows that Lyin' Don and those who continue to defend his lying, seem to think that Democrats are the enemy and the Russian Czar, oops President, is a good guy. The bromance of Lyin' Don for Vlad the Impaler continues! How exceedingly unpatriotic and un-American Lyin Don is! He seems to fit perfectly into the mold of a true Manchurian candidate!

No Big Stick yet. Every day that goes by with no use of a Big Stick by Lyin' Don's Administration, Crazy Kim is further emboldened!
Talk is cheap. Lyin' Don the Michelin Man who never met a burger he didn't like...all talk; no action; at least so far.

in office. The Big Stick is coming, King Kim! (I think. After all, he said that when he became POTUS, he would not sit back and let other nations make the United States look impotent.)

North Korea. All talk from Lyin' Don the Michelin Man who never met a burger he didn't like?

The latest from that region is that the leader of South Korea was removed from office by actions of the South Korean Parliament and their court system. She left office peacefully after losing her battle in court. Here is an excerpt from an article about the situation in South Korea. It contains several official statements from Kim Jong Un's government in North Korea. Readers here can judge if North Korea seems to be frightened by statements coming our of the current Administration.
Here's a link to the article: http://www.cnn.com/2017/03/12/asia/south-korea-park-geun-hye-protests/
Just one quote from the article: "North Korea praised her removal, describing it as a 'destructive end' for the nation's first female head of state."
Hmmm...

So says the National Review. This publication has been considered to be the conscience of the conservative movement in America for several decades. Here's a link to the article: http://www.nationalreview.com/corner/445594/trump-wiretapping-tweets-wer...

Just to remind all who read here, the entire set of tweets by Lyin' Don the Michelin Man who never met a burger he didn't like, are repeated here: "Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my "wires tapped" in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!" And: "How low has President Obama gone to tapp(sic) my phones during the very sacred election process. This is Nixon/Watergate. Bad (or sick) guy!" This seems to be quite a direct, personal attack on Obama!

Now, the latest on this is poor (I really am starting to feel sorry for this guy) Sean Spicer trying to make it seem as though Lyin' Don was talking in general about all surveillance done by the Obama Administration toward the campaign of Lyin' Don. Spicey's pathetic attempts to somehow explain away the Michelin Man's tweets are simply pitiful! If what Spicey says is accurate, why has it taken him well more than a week to articulate this explanation?

Still waiting.
Lyin' Don -- All talk; no action...yet!

believes Faux News! No surprise there. Faux News has been spewing fake news for decades now! Real "fake news!!" [Oxymoron intended] They appeal to the conspiracy theorists who cannot believe that any POTUS, especially any Democratic POTUS, and most especially any African-American POTUS, would NOT be up to nefarious activities! Well, guess what? According to British Intelligence, the Faux News reports are all, "Nonsense. They are utterly ridiculous and should be ignored." http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-39300191
Here's what Lyin Don believed. These are quotes from former judge Andrew Napolitano carried on Faux News: " Mr Obama 'didn't use the NSA, he didn't use the CIA, he didn't use the FBI and he didn't use the Department of Justice, he used GCHQ.'" GCHQ is the British Intelligence agency. (Spicey quoted this report.)
This is dangerous on many levels. It's bad enough to "bad mouth" America intelligence agencies. But, now Lyin' Don's Administration is bad mouthing British intelligence. The British have not only been our closest ally since World War I, they are also well known as having the most sophisticated intelligence network in the world! No American POTUS, before this one, wanted to have an unreliable relationship with the British and their intelligence operatives.

There are at least two lessons here. First of all, narcissists are always trying to find scapegoats if their plans do not work out. The Michelin Man has been setting up President Obama for that role since he started running for the office of POTUS. It continues.
Second, it is likely that Lyin' Don projects upon Obama, the types of actions he would like to do himself! Are my phones tapped? Maybe. Who knows? Lyin' Don the Michelin Man who never met a burger he didn't like is capable of anything -- legal or illegal.
If he weren't the POTUS, and if he weren't doing his typical insomniatic tweeting at all hours of the night and morning, who would really care? He just does not comprehend why his fallacious tweets are such a big deal now that he is the POTUS. How profoundly sad!

Don the Michelin Man who never met a burger he didn't like. It is Faux News!! Here's what Lyin' Don said today: "But Trump insisted on Friday that 'we said nothing,' and instead sought to put full responsibility for the claim onto Fox News. 'You should be talking to Fox,' he told the German reporter who had asked about the episode."
So, what does Faux News say? "Soon afterward, a Fox anchor, Shepard Smith, said on-air that the network 'cannot confirm' what Napolitano had alleged, and added, 'Fox News knows of no evidence of any kind that the now-president of the United States was surveilled at any time, any way. Full stop.'”
In short, even Faux News can apologize, but NOT our Narcissist in Chief! You see, a true narcissist can never apologize. Here's why: "As soon as by one's own propaganda even a glimpse of right on the other side is admitted, the cause for doubting one's own right is laid." Oh. Who said this? Adolf Hitler.
As Columbo would say, "Just one more thing." "A narcissist is never sorry because he (or she) perceives himself as perfect. He can’t be wrong. He views himself as superior to everyone and, thus, always right." http://thenarcissisticlife.com/the-narcissist-is-never-wrong/ Sound like anyone we know?
BTW -- The entire article is worth reading.

North Korea.

U.S. President Donald Trump on Sunday criticized North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, saying he was "acting very, very badly." http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/trump-north-koreas-kim-acting-very-v...

But will the Michelin Man actually DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT??? What is this? Speak loudly and carry a tiny twig? How far will that take you? TR is rolling over in his grave.

That dick head Kim Jong would never think of pulling this shit with Hilliary. Why do you think Putin got Thump elected? He knew if Hilliary got elected his days of running things would be over.

Hope I didn't offend anyone!

big stick to be used against North Korea. Of course, Lyin Don the Michelin Man who never met a burger he didn't like, may well be intimidated by Kim Jong Un. Here's the latest threat by Kim: https://www.yahoo.com/news/north-koreas-kim-jong-un-160648927.html

We all know how tough Hillary is. Look at what happened to Osama Bin Laden!
Poor Lyin' Don is probably quaking with fear!

North Korea nuclear problem with or without China!
FINALLY! If the Michelin Man who never met a burger he didn't like says so, it must be so. After all, we know that he never, never lies about anything!
Guess that "Big Stick" is ready to fall any time.
Here's a link to the article: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-39475178

the Michelin Man who never met a burger he didn't like! And, I make reference to this because? Here he goes again, our POTUS, referring to Maine's Governor who had bariatric surgery because his being overweight was badly affecting his health: “'Governor LePage of Maine, who, by the way, has lost a lot of weight,' Trump said. 'I knew him when he was heavy and now I know him when he was thin and I like him both ways, okay?'” Here's a link to the article about this: http://www.politico.com/story/2017/04/26/trump-paul-lepage-weight-237638

And here's a link to the article about the latest North Korean missile launch and its failure: http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/nkorea-test-fires-ballistic-missile-...
It is scary to think that North Korea is led by a narcissist who has been catered to all of his life and feels totally entitled to do anything which strikes his fancy. I cannot imagine living in a country led by such a person! I wonder what that must be like?

to be used on North Korea!

a long range missile which their government said was tested to verify its capability of carrying a, "large scale heavy nuclear warhead." North Korea also accused the United States of "browbeating" countries that "have no nukes."
Here's a link to the article: http://www.reuters.com/article/us-northkorea-missiles-idUSKCN18A12B

Still awaiting Trump's use of the "Big Stick" on North Korea.

So, Lyin' Don the Michelin Man who never met a burger he didn't like, tucks his proverbial tail between his legs and skulks home.
No "Big Stick" will be used by Lyin' Don, if Vlad the Impaler says, "No!"
Is Vlad the Impaler the real POTUS now??

missile capable of carrying a nuclear warhead. When is Lyin' Don the Michelin Man who never met a burger he didn't like, going to use a "Big Stick" on North Korea? Ever?? http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/nkorea-tests-another-missile-seoul-s...

Talk is cheap. Maybe The Rock is right. We should have, "more poise; less noise," from our POTUS.
Hmmm...The Rock and Tom Hanks...quite an interesting celebrity pairing for POTUS and VPOTUS in 2020!
http://www.msn.com/en-us/tv/news/the-rock-announces-tom-hanks-as-2020-ru...

of the "Big Stick," on North Korea.

Here is yet another example of a Republican complaining about Lyin' Don the Michelin Man who never met a burger he didn't like, tweeting and talking too much! According to South Carolina and Republican U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, Lyin' Don, "... may be the first president in history to go down because you [the POTUS] can’t stop inappropriately talking about an investigation that if you just were quiet, would clear you,” http://nypost.com/2017/06/11/graham-trump-could-go-down-because-he-cant-...

Mikey was stating on this site some time ago, that liberals hated The Michelin Man's unfiltered, amateurish tweets and other statements. As a partisan Democrat, I LOVE all of this POTUS's idiotic lies and false claims! Keep 'em comin'! As a patriotic American, I cringe every time I check the latest news, because I fear what this educated idiot has stated NOW! It's just embarrassing! Just ask Republican Senator Lindsey Graham!

North Korea yet. Lyin' Don the Michelin Man who never met a burger he didn't like, is all talk and no action. To add a murder charge to the North Korea scenario, we now have the death of Otto Warmbier! Here's a link to an article about this heinous crime: http://www.cnn.com/2017/06/20/politics/warmbier-north-korea-trump-anger/...

Meanwhile Kim Jong Un and every other petty dictator is laughing at our tough-talking, no action POTUS! Oh, that's right. Potuzzi does not want to upset China or Russia. Are there just too many business opportunities to pass up in these two places? I guess democratic countries like Britain, France, Germany, and Canada, just don't count for much with THIS POTUS!! Our Founding Fathers must be turning over in their graves! America first?? Not if we would upset Russia and/or China!

I'm quite sure Otto Warmbier was released because North Korea is laughing at Trump. Sure sure.

This site has become boring because the level of derangement has made it too predictable.

MikeyA

North Korea's people are suffering badly.
Kim Jong Un and his chosen few are laughing!

Mikey...really! When almost all of the posts on this site were from the vociferous right, you posted. Most conservatives talk and write as though they want open debate, but most are like Lyin' Don the Michelin Man who never met a burger he didn't like. In fact, most extreme partisans of the left and the right want total control of the message.
Honestly, Mikey, I thought you were an exception to this. You seemed to really debate, often citing facts, and/or interpreting them from your perspective. Sadly, it seems that I was wrong.

THAT is what has changed in America in the past few decades. Honest debate from both sides, too often gives way to virulent, even violent actions. Or, the opposite. People run away from real debate and hide. They seek the approval of others who think as they do. In this way, they do not grow in understanding what the other side thinks; nor do they grow in better articulating their own views. It's a lose-lose proposition.

See predictable.

All Dale does is deflect deflect deflect.

Of course it was the current administration who got Warmbier released. That is a fact.

What fact does Dale have? Deflections and attacks.

MikeyA

that the maltreatment of Warmbier by the North Korean officials led to his death. And what is lyin' Don the Michelin Man who never met a burger he didn't like, doing about this murder!? NOTHING, BUT TOUGH TALK! NO ACTION!!
And, I will let those who read here decide if I am deflecting away from the topic of the thread, Mikey. The thread is labeled, "Awaiting Use of the Big Stick on North Korea!" Kim Jong Un continues to thumb his proverbial nose at whoever the POTUS is. Potuzzi's tough talk has yielded NOTHING.

It also seems transparently obvious that the only reason Kim released Warmbier is so Warmbier would die in America. This way, Kim can blame American treatment of Warmbier for the death North Koreans caused!
BTW -- Thanks for actually debating. Once again, you bring forward truthful statements which you interpret differently than I do. That's what freedom of speech and open debate are all about, Mikey. And, it fascinates me that you keep defending the POTUS whom you claim you did not support when he was running. Hmmm...
