Bimbo Gate - The ballad of Donald and Sarah

It appears that Sarah Palin has endorsed Donald Trump. I am so pleased that she did. She helped destroy one Presidential Campaign, now she gets a chance to do it again. Could you imagine Sarah Palin in Donald Trump's Cabinet?

No votes yet

Can't figure why she teams up with big personality NY guy .
But her anti establishment message worked in Alaska

And Palin's "message" worked so well in Alaska that, not only did she not run for re-election, she resigned before she even finished one term! She knew that she was in over her head as governor of a state. Just think if she had become Vice President, or, heaven forbid, POTUS!

Palin's "message" worked in one way. She has become famous and quite rich herself as a speaker to various conservative groups, and a TV pundit for Fox. Meanwhile, her daughter has now had a second child with no husband in sight, and her son has just been charged with assaulting his wife.
Some family values, huh. I guess she fits right in with a serial marrier who would like to date his own daughter!

You know her son's PTSD was caused by Obama! OMG! What a clown show!

the POTUS!
But, let's also add that Sarah is a traditional conservative in at least one way. She claims, as a conservative, and as a "Tea Party" fave, to want SMALLER government, LESS government spending. Now, she is claiming that her son, and others suffering with PTSD, need MORE government help. That means, on this issue at least, Sarah wants MORE government, and MORE government spending. Just like most of the Republican hypocrites, who hide behind the term "conservative," whatever that really means, they don't really want less government. They want to spend as much or more than the Democrats. They just have different spending priorities! When was the last year the federal government spent LESS money than it did the year before under a Republican POTUS? Not since 1955! Eisenhower oversaw less federal spending in the middle 1950s, and budget surpluses. Since then, federal spending went up each year of the Nixon/Ford presidencies, all 12 years under Reagan/Bush#41, and all 8 years under W!!

If Sarah Palin really wants to look at the person who did the most to create a bitter, violent addict, all she has to do is look in a mirror!

She actually drove him to drinkin'!

need and deserve the best medical treatment upon their return to this country, and too many are not being well served by the VA.
I must add that my father, who was a WW II vet, was treated very well by our Toledo VA. I took him to some of his appointments, and he was treated with respect and given most of the medications which he needed as he aged. Sadly, that is not true for too many vets. And, those vets who have mental health problems, too often have to fight the VA to get the treatments they need and deserve. This has been true under both Republican and Democratic POTUSes. It is a critique of our federal government and is not a partisan, political statement.

PTSD does not cause violent behavior. Nor is the individual ever out of their own control.

PTSD's biggest two symptoms are sleep loss and depression.

Her son did a bad thing and needs to be held accountable for his own actions. It is no one else's fault.

opinions when it comes to anything related to the military. You know far more about PTSD than I ever will. I just read this open letter from a vet to Sarah Palin, and I thought about this particular post of yours. I think that this letter reinforces the message you are relating to all of us who read here. Thank you for your post. Thank you for your service.
PTSD is a very serious issue. Your post, Mikey, and this letter highlight this importance. Our vets deserve our full support, not only when they are putting themselves directly in harm's way on a foreign mission, but also when they return and need the help of the VA and other organizations. I really fail to comprehend how we cannot find enough resources to properly help as many of our veterans as much as possible in a multi-trillion dollar budget.

all Obama's fault, according to Sarah!
Rather than to step up as a leader, a mother, a parent, Sarah Palin blames President Obama for her son assaulting his wife! She blames PTSD for Track Palin's attack which landed him in jail in Wasilla. Here's a link to the story: http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/sarah-palin-arrested-son-was-hardened-b... Please note the evidence of an earlier violent confrontation involving the Palin family, and specifically Track Palin, in September of 2014. And also note Track's alcohol level, as calculated by his breathalyzer test in this most recent assault.

Blame someone else when your child attacks an innocent victim. What is the real "elephant in the room," Sarah? Aren't elephants, after all, symbols of Republicans? It couldn't be a case of poor parenting by Sarah and Todd, of course. I wonder if Sarah and/or Todd have ever "gone rogue" on one another? We do know that children raised in homes where violence is common are much more likely to react violently themselves.
Some family values, huh!

In my opinion Palin and Trump are buffoons. Just like what happened in Nazi Germany, thousands are buying into this because they think their entitlement has been compromised.
All politicians should have to pass a Psychological Exam.

And a substance abuse exam as well.

Why are ALL you liberals SO upset about this, when she will ruin Trumps' chances of winning? One would think you guys would be ELATED over this news, instead of TERRIFIED by it?

After watching last night's Iowa Democratic Caucus it was obvious to me that Clinton is the best candidate on both sides of the aisle. To me, Trump and Cruz are spinning Nazi rhetoric and the remainder of GOP candidates are clueless. Clinton appears to be the candidate who knows what she is doing. Sanders platform would be okay in current day China, not the U.S. and the other candidate is not believable.

If Clinton makes it to the general election. It's now likely she will be indicted.

MikeyA

It's likely you are wrong again.

Really? Because unlike you I actually hold a Top Secret clearance. Also unlike you I am familiar with the laws concerning classified material.

I can tell you at this point her indictment seems likely. She not only had classified material on her email but she had compartmentalized classified material on her email. Information like that is not supposed to removed from a SCIF unless handcuffed in a RF blocking case. I highly doubt her server and blackberry were carried that way.

The only way I see her avoiding indictment is through a Presidential pardon. Judging by the stories on the FBI investigation I'm reading one of the two will come this spring.

MikeyA

I think she is headed to the Big House, not the White House.

Yeah the stuff we now know was emailed to her goes beyond coincidental. It speaks to classification subversion on the part of her staff and that does not absolve her from not reporting it and passing it on.

A doc that comes from an outside agency then suddenly has its classification header removed shows conspiracy to subvert the law.

For those who don't know EVERY piece of Intel requires a classification to be written on it, the name of the person originating it, and the date it is to be unclassified/destroyed/archived.

The fact that it is compartmentalized shows it to be a leak directly affecting the national security of the US.

This is serious.

MikeyA

areas of expertise. I have no reason to doubt you now. If what is reported is factual, the law was broken. I, for one, want all who break laws prosecuted. If that is Hillary, and/or one of her staff, they should pay the price for breaking the law.

As one who has worked at low levels on statewide and national campaigns, but at the highest level on a couple of local campaigns, I cannot imagine why someone on her staff couldn't tell Hillary straight out, "Look! You cannot do ANY official business on a private email and/or cell phone account, PERIOD!!" Why take an unnecessary chance regarding the nation's security, not to mention breaking the law? Sheesh!! Is The Donald right, after all? Are all of these so-called governmental leaders a bunch of idiots?

To read my top secret emails you had to go through two coded security doors with alarm systems. These were not reinforced vaults.

To read those type of emails with the classification she had (Top Secret/SAP) I would have needed to go up a floor, through another security door and then into a vault (it had its own ventilation system) and nothing could be opened until the 18" door was closed.

12 years of having a clearance and I have only received one briefing like that.

Coincidentally there are briefs I created from my top secret computer that made my way to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Nothing earth shattering but things my boss needed them to know on our mission. Now, for someone to "declassify" my document, they would need to 1) wait until the declass date 2) contact me in the hopes I'd declassify it 3) get it declassified by an Information Security Official. To do #3 a record of declassification NEEDS to be kept.

MikeyA

your security status. I respect your expertise in this area. And, I believe that this type of security is necessary for such information.

Specially when there is a Clinton in close proximity.

I know you do Dale but there are some on here who would deny that I know what I'm talking about or would suggest I'm on a witch hunt.

However I can affirm that anyone who has held a clearance in the Dept of State or Dept of Defense would confirm that my description of the process is correct.

I should clarify. In my above statement the originator decides and is responsible for the classification. If someone else thinks it's over classified and brings it to the originator the originator CAN change the markings BUT they are still ultimately responsible for the correct classification if they judge in error the originator can be prosecuted.

MikeyA

MikeyA, thank you for sharing with the whole world some of the steps needed to breach your security clearance.

I did no such thing. I explained the expectation of each level of clearance and what the environment would be like to read each. And I gave a layman description of declassification.

Now to breach my security clearance is an easier explanation. Don't follow the rules as I laid out in previous posts.

Of course as usual I don't expect you to recognize the differences.

MikeyA

Here are some of the steps you quoted, MikeyA.

"To read my top secret emails you had to go through two coded security doors with alarm systems. These were not reinforced vaults.

To read those type of emails with the classification she had (Top Secret/SAP) I would have needed to go up a floor, through another security door and then into a vault (it had its own ventilation system) and nothing could be opened until the 18" door was closed"

I admit this information is probably not going allow anyone to breach anyone's security clearance, but if anyone wanted to they are several steps closer to doing it. Maybe we should let your superiors know you are having this discussion. Do you mind if we send a copy of your post to the FBI?

Here is where you are stupid. THAT STUFF is written into laws and policies. Laws and policies are publicly available.

Now had I gives exact locations of buildings, where in buildings, AND the codes... ONLY then is it a breach. You need those three things combined.

Again, I am well versed in the laws. I'm very willing to bet more than you. If you'd like to verify I invite you to provide this thread to the FBI.

MikeyA

it does NOT seem that Mikey conveyed any security information which could compromise his security status or that of anyone else. Personally, I found his information to be enlightening. It all seems to be information that is open to the public.

If he is so willing to say there are security systems, procedures or protocols that's fine, but he took it to another level.

Funny that you are so concerned about me posting information you can look up yourself from your computer yet you dismiss Clinton ACTUALLY keeping secrets on an open system which is a clear violation of US code.

MikeyA

It's not surprising that Palin is now trying to distance herself from Trump.

I wonder if that is happening, or just a political ploy? She will get a cabinet position for her support!

Except there is a key issue. Any candidate she supports won't get elected.

Doubtful, the people who hate her already weren't going to vote for him already. People don't vote based upon who has support from who. They vote based on the candidates themselves.

MikeyA

Palin's support of Trump could help within the Republican Party. The Donald's secular past could be an issue. He is trying hard to convince the right-wing Christians who make up a large, dedicated, activist group mostly within the Republican Party, that he claims that he is really a devout Christian (Presbyterian, I believe).

You are absolutely correct that Palin's support, or lack thereof, will do little to nothing to affect those who already are politically opposed to Republicans in general, and Republican billionaires in particular. But, with evangelical Christian Republicans, Palin's support could mean something. It didn't seem to move the needle in Iowa, but South Carolina is coming up!

I must add how truly hypocritical it is, however, that the three-times married candidate is seeking support from the grandmother of two out-of-wedlock children who preached "abstinence-only" to avoid unwanted pregnancies, in order to secure the POTUS nomination from the self-proclaimed "family values" political party.

Palin suffers from a lack of relevance.

She's a party outsider, yet she holds no position in gov't or the party. So she's struggling to remain relevant. She's latching onto provocative people in order to remain in the limelight. She's really just female version of Pat Buchanon. Her opinions only mean something to about 10% of the party but those people were going to vote a certain way anyway.

MikeyA

your attention on the General Election in November, Palin does nothing to "move the needle." She's not only preaching to the choir; she's a part of the choir. If, however, you're talking about the Republican primaries/caucuses, she could help The Donald with a few critical percent of the evangelical voters who zealously turn out for elections.

Maybe but the only way to gauge that would be to see a state by state breakdown of her popularity. It may have an impact of this state or of that and maybe for a few percentage points. I could be wrong. I just think she only can affect people who will vote for Trump or Cruz but Trump has done a better job of getting a coalition outside of tea partiers. Though I will say some of this is the "bandwagon" affect because some people just support who looks to be the eventual winner.

MikeyA

Agreed!
