GOP cuts funding request to fight Ebola BY MORE THAN HALF

"House Republicans indicated Tuesday that they will provide less than half of the White House's funding request to fight Ebola in the next government spending bill.

According to a source familiar with the negotiations, House Appropriations Committee Chairman Hal Rogers (R-Ky.) agreed as of Tuesday morning to spend a total of $40 million to fight the epidemic in the 2015 spending bill.

This would include $25 million for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and $15 million for the Biological Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) to ramp up production of an experimental anti-Ebola drug, the source said.

The White House had asked for $88 million for Ebola in total, including $58 million for BARDA, which is involved in coordinating experimental treatments during public health emergencies.

The owners of this country will get their vaccine while the 99% get the new plague. We can't be spending our money on the rabble among us. The late George Carlin said it best in 2005.

Tonight the plot thickens with President Obama telling we got to go back into the Hell Hole that the court appointed Idiot-in-Chief George W Bush got us involved with. Remember in 2003 "W" gave the Owners a tax break in time of war instead of sharing the sacrifice we allow these people to rule us.

Still blaming everything on Bush, eh? Pathetic.

Question: Who has been Commander-in-Chief for all US armed forces for 6 years?

Hint: The man's last name rhymes with "Obama".

Obama could end all this war spending tomorrow. He can do it by signing one document, which takes about an hour, including time to draft and print the document. He chooses not to do that. He supports "Bush's Wars" and you Liberals blindly back him on that 100%. Therefore YOU Liberals support Bush's Wars.

Also, your graphic is dead wrong. There's not such thing as an "unfunded tax cut". Tax cuts aren't funded. That's an Orwellism that you've all gotten hooked on. When you cut taxes, you should cut spending. So all these "deficits caused by tax cuts" are actually deficits caused by a refusal to cut spending.

The 99 % will get the plague eventually. This virus will mutate and kill their butts too.

Spend the money in Iraq while the real threat sits in Texas. Did you know Texas has the highest amount of uninsured in the country! Think they will go to the doctor at the first signs? No they'll wait till they can't walk cause they don't want the hospital bill.

Why does the White House request for funding automatically become the minimum acceptable option?

For Liberals, I guess that happens when their boy is in the White House.

The reality is, our federal budget needs to be cut severely. We commonly borrow 25% or more to make up our spending budget. That's criminal. But no Liberal will ever understand that.

The sadder reality is that the four largest spending-budget items consume about 100% of the federal revenue stream. Social Security, military, DHHS (including Medicare/Medicaid) and debt interest... if you're not cutting one or more of these, you're not doing anything fiscally sensible. Those top four items are politically untouchable.

So we're doomed. Ebola is really the least of our worries. You're far more likely to be imperiled by one of the race riots of our bankrupt and mismanaged future, than Ebola, regardless of how the NIH is funded.

Because, if Chimpy McFlightsuit's DC vacation home didn't get what it asked for when Bush was in office, YOU AND YOUR REPUBLICAN FRIENDS CRIED THAT THE TERRORISTS WERE GONNA BLOW US ALL UP IN OUR SLEEP. So since it was epically wrong to deny Bush whatever he wanted, it's logical that it's just as wrong to deny Obama, right?

Seems your memory's got another huge problem, AC. I suspect you've a Vitamin B deficiency.

I never supported the farcical "War on Terror", not even once. In fact I was a big critic of it. Make a note of that.

The federal budget has been out of control for decades now. This crosses party lines.

If it crosses party lines then why do you get your tiny rocks off blaming LLLLLiberals for everything? Once again I ask if you are throwing Bush and Reagan under the bus and call them LLLLiberals.

AC, remember when that heartless bastard Bush spent billions of dollars to try to save millions of lives in Africa and it wasn't until Dear Leader came along that a president reduced funding for the effort against HIV/AIDS in Africa for the first time since the Reagan years?

Patience is a great virtue.

I don't blame Liberals for everything. I just need you Liberals to explain why you voted for Obama twice when it was patently clear that he was going to continue to run the Bush Plan for the nation almost to the letter. I could even forgive the 2008 vote, but to vote for him in 2012 while claiming to be Liberal in any manner, was the epitome of stupidity or willful ignorance.

I don't mind that Liberals have different ideas. But you Liberals don't have different ideas. When your guys get into office, it's the same old shit: More welfare for individuals and corporations. More spending. More borrowing. More of the worst possible government... government that just gets larger, more expensive, and more invasive to our lives.

Blah Blah Blah you didn't answer my question.

The Out-of-Towner
While Bush vacationed, 9/11 warnings went unheard.

"Roemer then asked Tenet if he mentioned Moussaoui to President Bush at one of their frequent morning briefings. Tenet replied, "I was not in briefings at this time." Bush, he noted, "was on vacation." He added that he didn't see the president at all in August 2001. During the entire month, Bush was at his ranch in Texas. "You never talked with him?" Roemer asked. "No," Tenet replied. By the way, for much of August, Tenet too was, as he put it, "on leave."

I've got a great idea.

Let's take all the ebola patients to the VA. They'll end up ok right?

MikeyA

I've got an even better idea! Why don't you and all your fellow no-government conservatives move to Somalia, where the market is truly free therefore the health care there must be the best on the planet?

No taxes are too high.

Republican Cuts Kill,’ which was produced by the Agenda Project Action Fund, mixes disturbing footage of the Ebola outbreak—including images of body bags, hazmat suits, and corpses—with clips of Mitch McConnell, Pat Roberts, Rand Paul, and Republicans in some of the most competitive races around the country demanding more spending cuts. The demand for cuts is juxtaposed against testimony from top CDC and NIH officials detailing how budget cuts substantially hampered their ability to address the crisis.
