David Kissinger: Secretary of State Wisely Rejects Dysfunctional Nominees

Jon Husted seeks new nominations from the Lucas County Republican Party

TOLEDO – It came as no surprise today when Ohio’s Secretary of State, Jon Husted, rejected the nominations put forward by the Lucas County Republican Party (LCRP) Executive Committee on June 18th of Kelly Bensman and Ben Roberts for the Board of Elections (BOE). “Secretary Husted wisely rejected the nominations of two individuals that were clearly at the epicenter of dysfunction that has existed at the Lucas County BOE.” Kissinger continued, “What the party needs now is leadership going forward not wallowing in the mud of the past.” As the newly elected Chairman I will lead our party out of the politics of destruction and division and into a bright new future.”

Kissinger continued, “The Executive Committee will meet immediately to forward two candidates that meet with the standards and expectations that the Secretary of State has outlined and of whom the good Republicans of Lucas County can be proud.” Kissinger concluded, “The citizens of Lucas County deserve to be able to put this chapter behind them as quickly as possible and I am confident that the nominees the Executive Committee will be submitting will be fully capable of doing just that.”

“We are not the Tea Party faction, the Stainbrook faction or any other faction. We are the Lucas County Republican Party and we have a responsibility to our cities, our villages, our townships and our county to lead.” Kissinger continued. “We have an important election year ahead of us and it will take each and every one of us working together. Governor Kasich, and the entire statewide Republican team need our support to bring home a victory in November and with your help Lucas County will lead the way.”
