McCain: Obama's "feckless" foreign policy invited Ukraine crisis.

" Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., says Russia intervened militarily in Ukraine in part because "nobody believes in America's strength any more." Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., blamed President Obama's "feckless" foreign policy for inviting the crisis in Ukraine on Monday, telling a pro-Israel group that the president has repeatedly failed to demonstrate American strength in the face of adversaries."
"Mr. Obama "believes that the Cold War is over," McCain said. "That's the problem, but Putin doesn't believe it's over."

McCain needs to act like an American and support his president in times of crisis. Back when Russia and Georgia got into it did McCain claim it was George Bush's fault? I don't remember him claiming Bush's feckless foreign policy invited that conflict.

OH YEAH WHATEVER DID HAPPEN TO "RESPECT THE OFFICE IF NOT THE MAN" AND ALL THAT SHIT THAT THE CONSERVATARDS WERE BLEATING ANY TIME THEY CRITICIZED BUSH WHILE BUSH WAS IN OFFICE AND RUNNING TWO WARS?!?!?!

YEAH THAT'S RIGHT, IT DOESN'T APPLY TO THE BLACK MAN IN THE WHITE HOUSE CAUSE HE'S BLACK AND A DEMOCRAT AND NOT ACTUALLY AN AMERICAN.

Please, proceed with your regularly scheduled echo chamber, Conservatards.

Criticism does not equal disrespect.

In fact, McCain's criticism is both reasonable and limited thus showing he respects the office. I highly doubt he is a birther.

Your disdain however is prevalent. Are you as assuming that McCain wouldn't have described the President's foreign policy as such if he were white? Do you really believe that?

Quit being deliberately obtuse. My comments are not about McCain.

Well AC you then need to look at the thread again. DTOM posted about McCain, PMW posted about McCain, you replied to those two without specifically addressing who you thought was being disrespectful. In fact you only used the pronoun "conservatards", a disrespectful word for someone who feels that group needs to show respect.

Did Bush say there would be consequences and then sheepishly back down when it was clear a "red line" had been crossed?

Bush was a lot of things but when he said something he believed it and backed it up. This President has shown no leadership. He's too busy giving his NCAA bracket to be bothered with a crisis in Crimea.

McCain needs to remember that the Russians didn't care what the United States thought about it when they invaded Afghanistan and Chechnya.

Who was President during the Soviet war in Afghanistan? Yeah, the Republican god, Reagan, the much vaunted strongman.

Therefore Soviet military activity is NOT related to perceived American strength. In fact, the United States can be wholly discounted in world affairs now, since we're bankrupt. If I were Putin, I wouldn't give a rat's ass what Obama said or did, and I'd feel the same if a Republican President was in charge. The USA is irrelevant. We made ourselves irrelevant by becoming economically pathetic.

We have nukes. Russia has nukes. I don't want Cold War 2.0, which is what we'd be getting into if we took the hawkish hardline stance against Putin/Russia. We'll be getting into it anyway and Russia knows exactly what limits they have on action before we get all US+EU+NATO-y on Russia. And China is sitting there ready to back-door Russia, or wait for Russia to overextend itself and possibly draw us off so they can run in and grab all those "disputed" islands while everyone is looking in Russia's direction. Which IS something I'm pretty sure Obama and the other policy wonks are aware of, hence why we're NOT being drawn off by Russia right now.

We ain't got the money to fight a two-front war because Bush charged his two wars up on the American Credit Card, the GOP sank the USA's credit rating with their shenanigans, and they all refuse to jack up taxes on the rich to pay for the wars they want. The GOP can either be deficit hawks or war hawks but not both simultaneously and until I hear ONE SINGLE REPUBLICAN talk about military intervention AND raising taxes (fairly, not just soaking the poor and middle class) to pay for said military intervention, the only kind of hawks the GOP are is CHICKEN (or is that chicken-f***ing?) HAWKS.

All largely true, but then you're forgetting who's Commander-in-Chief. Bush stopped being CINC 5 years ago. Some guy with similar chimpy characteristics (i.e. large ears that stick out) is CINC. And he's not stopping the wars either. He didn't even close Gitmo since he's such a lying motherfucker. So the spending pressure remains in place, regardless of who's being taxed for it.

And to a large degree, we're not paying for these things with taxation anyway. We're borrowing. Heavily. And the heaviest borrowing is happening while Chimp 2.0 is in office.

We already know the GOPers are big spenders. What you're not admitting is that Libbies are even bigger spenders, and they only make up for it with even bigger borrowing. Remember, borrowing admits that taxation must be even larger in the future. Borrowing always invokes a "cost of credit". So if you refuse to tax $1.00 today to pay for your $1.00 spending today, by borrowing you're only ensuring you must tax $1.10 tomorrow, $1.35 ten years from now, or $2.50 in thirty years.

Take a look at the paragon year 2012 for the federal budget. The top 4 items (that neither major party will allow to be cut) consumed over 100% of the tax revenue: SS, military, DHSS (incl. Medicare/Medicaid) and debt interest. We're broke. We're bankrupt. Only Libertarian ideals can save us now, but you partisans are too busy arguing about abortion and who turned off who's microphone.

The Russian economy isn't booming, and they seem to be relevant, and they haven't advanced further in the Ukraine yet. Where is our dog in the fight? It's all a chess game and I believe Russia got the green light as soon as Putin figured out Obama. Besides America becoming economically pathetic, America is getting neutered as well.

"DTOM" {1776} " We The People" {1791}

We got neutered under one Chimpy McFlightsuit who proved our military sucks ass at getting the job done when he couldn't find one Osama bin Laden, let alone do whatever the hell it was we were ORIGINALLY supposed to do when we got into Iraq. Two trillion bucks and nothing to show for it. Now you want us to do what, FIGHT THE GODDAMN NUCLEAR-ARMED RUSSKIES? Why, are you having some kind of Red Dawn fantasies again or something?

Why don't you defend the President you support instead of trying to blame one who is not in office?

If the military is so bad off why is the current President reducing it's size and budget even when our top military leaders say it will weaken it?

If the President doesn't want to fight why is he issuing "tough guy" statements like "a line will not be crossed" or "there will be consequences" when we all know he's too weak to do a thing?

He should keep his mouth shut and keep talking peace, maybe he'll get another nobel prize.... this one for science!
