New Look For New Year

Tagged:

Really like the new look Chris, very easy on the eyes. Now if we can say the same for the posts to come this year you've really got something. Thanks for the work on the site.

The new look is OK. I guess, being an old guy, I have some problems with change. But as long as I can use it, it works for me!

Thanks for your vigilance on this transition, Chris. Hopefully, all of the glitches are done for the immediate future.

Still having problems and this look is an emergency look. Everything seems to be working smoothly but it is due to a hack to get the login to work. Basically a botched update to prevent spammers messed up the login and I am trying to work backward to see what the problem is, it is very obscure.

About the look: I am debating whether to update the look to something I wanted to move more toward while I get this hammered out. I will give everyone the all clear when things are done, but until that time, there may be some quirks. Stay tuned....

I still admire all of the time and work you put into it!

... has made it possible for me to log directly in from my home page. (Interesting) I couldn't do that for several months (as mentioned previously).

I have a complaint.

I preface this complaint by noting you really never hear from me unless something is wrong. That means you should assume you did things perfectly OK before, within reason. Hence I am not actually being critical.

OK then: This website endures a significant amount of back-and-forth. Person A says something, and it creates a "tree" of respondents. Since the page width is fixed, then these responses become "taller", in extreme cases being very much like columns. This is hard to read.

There's got to be a better way of handling that. Summary lines for long posts. Horizontal scroll bars for the entire comment section. Etc.

Or Fred can ban wolfman!

Fred has a lot of pull on websites he does not run or administer. I mean I don't even listen to him but the stuff he says on this show has brainwashed me into being a conservative... or so I've been told.

So I think if Fred were to ban everyone he disagrees with since he has that power the site would have less back and forth.

In all seriousness I think there should be a series of buttons for and up or down vote for a comment or thread. Then display the trend or totals on the main page.

It would save me clicking on the links where people are just trying to troll or incite others without putting that up front in the title.

MikeyA

And keep him from using this site to drum up listeners for his radio show.
Most of what Fred and his fellow clear channel employee's try to do on here is trolling and trying to incite incite others. Chris should make Fred pay part of this websites cost for the free advertising he gets. I see the Bain boys stay clear of TT pretty much because they know that AnonymousCoward
over there would rip them a new ass.LOL

So go back to ToledoTalk then. Oh wait... Fred controls it... But AC will rip them..., do you see the flaw in your argument yet?

MikeyA

What I see a flaw in is your reading comprehension. I never said Fred controls anything. I'm just stating facts. If any of you Bain employee's would try to post the bullshit over on Toledo Talk the way you do here, AC would destroy you and you would come back here with your tales between your legs. I can't post on TT because that girl JR banned me. :)

As I pointed out in an earlier post, I'll be trying to deal this year only with factual errors. The above poster claims that any Bain employee wouldn't post on TT for fear of AC. I posted there just two days ago and have posted numerous times previously so obviously the poster is incorrect, and I assume will correct themself below.

Nice try. I'm not talking about those suck ass post you make agreeing with Maggot Threadbear on where to buy a good fish sandwich in point place. Or for that matter the few hit and run post you tip toe in and reply to in Politics. I'm talking about the post that you and your Bain losers flood this site with, the anti-Obama trash you scour the net for. Post that over at TT in politics. That will be entertaining, if you got the balls. LOL

Well see that's why you need to be clear when you post, not after someone calls you out on it.

Can you bring back the associated post and users linked to the comments?

Between the recent changes on TT and here I find myself having to re-learn how I visit and read each site. Kinda like giving up coffee and smokes at the same time.

Hard to follow recent comments and most popular. I enjoyed old format giving easy access of record of comments and from which thread. The old side bar was hard to beat.

Yes

I know, just be patient. While the problem is not 100% fixed, it can be stabilized, until that time, things may be a bit different here and there.
