TARTA Trouble

Tagged:

TARTA seems to be taking a page out of the Jon Stainbrook campaign funding in doing some very odd things. Just like Jon, they are also in a bit of trouble....(thanks CL for the tip).
=============
A complaint filed against the Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority (TARTA) and Citizens for TARTA has been forwarded to the Lucas County Prosecutor’s Office.

Citizens for TARTA, a political action committee supporting TARTA’s levy, received $63,000 in loans from 2006 and 2008 from the transit authority to help fund the PAC. According to campaign finance reports, the loans have yet to be paid back.

Under the Ohio Revised Code, no public funds can be spent to support the passage of a levy.

I'm just hoping the prosecutor doesn't take a page out of the Jon Stainbrook scrap book and move this off towards Cleveland and the Cuyahoga County prosecutor. Remember when they did that? Stainbrook was supposed to be a slam dunk on some campaign finance charges and the Milk Toast in Cleveland returned it No Lo Contende'.

I remember reading about this before the election.
