Things voters "know"

First myth:

President Obama tripled the deficit.

Reality: Bush's last budget had a $1.416 trillion deficit. Obama's first budget reduced that to $1.29 trillion.

Don't blame Obama for Bush's 2009 deficit.

"Listening to a talk radio program yesterday, the host asserted that Obama tripled the budget deficit in his first year. This assertion is understandable, since the deficit jumped from about $450 billion in 2008 to $1.4 trillion in 2009. As this chart illustrates, with the Bush years in green, it appears as if Obama’s policies have led to an explosion of debt.

. . But there is one rather important detail that makes a big difference. The chart is based on the assumption that the current administration should be blamed for the 2009 fiscal year. While this makes sense to a casual observer, it is largely untrue. The 2009 fiscal year began October 1, 2008, nearly four months before Obama took office. The budget for the entire fiscal year was largely set in place while Bush was in the White House."

No votes yet

No, but I can blame Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid for passing that budget in the House and Senate.

Another thing voters know-is how to THROW THE BUMS OUT!

"Barack Obama has repeatedly insisted that he inherited the current economic problems and budget deficit from the George Bush deficit. Is that true or is the Obama budget insane? Here is a chart to help clarify where the truth lies."

"Of course, the stock market reached never before seen heights, unemployment was at all time lows and we were rocking along just fine under the Bush administration. That is up until 2006 when the democrats took control of Congress. But why let the facts get in the way of a good repetitive dose of propaganda for the masses?:

Don't blame me,
I didn't vote for a

When Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) gave her inaugural address as speaker of the House in 2007, she vowed there would be “no new deficit spending.” Since that day, the national debt has increased by $5 trillion, according to the U.S. Treasury Department.

"After years of historic deficits, this 110th Congress will commit itself to a higher standard: Pay as you go, no new deficit spending,” Pelosi said in her speech [2] from the speaker’s podium. “Our new America will provide unlimited opportunity for future generations, not burden them with mountains of debt."

Pelosi has served as speaker in the 110th and 111th Congresses.

At the close of business on Jan. 4, 2007, Pelosi’s first day as speaker, the national debt was $8,670,596,242,973.04 (8.67 trillion), according to the Bureau of the Public Debt [3], a division of the U.S. Treasury Department. At the close of business on Oct. 22, it stood at $13,667,983,325,978.31 (13.67 trillion), an increase of 4,997,387,083,005.27 (or approximately $5 trillion).

Pelosi, the 60th speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, has added more to the national debt than the first 57 House speakers combined.

There's your sign...

“Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.”

The largest contributors today's deficit are Bush's tax cut and the wars.

Maybe if you paid taxes instead of relying on other people's tax dollars to provide you with a check, you would want the Bush Tax Cuts extended. Remember there were many democrats that voted in favor of the Iraq war and Wikileaks just disclosed weapons of mass destruction were found. You can thank Bawney fudgepacking Frank and Chris, friend of Angelo, Dodd for the Fannie and Freddie mess.

You should also dislose where your "information" comes from.

"Wikileaks just disclosed weapons of mass destruction were found"

HUH? Where do you get your misinformation?
