Wolfman attends Kaptur Iott Debate

Monday Sept. 27 2010
Wolfman embraced by WSPD staff. Left to right Katie, Wolfman, and Debbie of WSPD 1370 AM Toledo.

The crowd was decidedly made up of Rich Iott supporters 3 to 1. While the crowd did not carry pitchforks or torches they were reminded several times to keep order during the debate. The auditorium was three quarters full but those that filled the room gave a full spirited account for the empty seats. Rich Iott did much better than his WGTE 30 Deadline Now performance with host Jack Lessenberry . The August 13th performance made him look unpolished and unprepared. Marcy Kaptur gave her usual strong performance considering the behavior of the audience even after repeated warnings from moderator Diane Larson.

It comes down to one candidate for working Americans and the other for the owners, the business community. One, Marcy Kaptur voted for the auto bailout helping her constituent auto workers, the other, Rich Iott who believes in absolute winners and losers would have let GM and Chrysler go bankrupt causing 50,000 local auto workers to lose their jobs resulting in a spike of unemployment to 25+% in Northwest Ohio.

I hope both women showered after this picture.

A slight correction here... The bailout of Big Labor and the autoworkers is merely throwing my tax dollars at bad behavior- just like the bailout of Wall Street, just like the pork...I mean...so-called stimulus package- the total combination of the three resulting in an obscenely high deficit that my children and grandchildren are going to be saddled with.

Coming in January, a political satire about the sorry state of American Politics- Jesusland vs. Progressiveville.

How do you feel about GM taking the stimulus money and building a half billion dollar facility in mexico? what'll that do for jobs in the area?

I don't know if you read the Blade Monday but the special report http://toledoblade.com/article/20100927/NEWS16/9260360/0/SPORTS03 outlines this type of behavior. Out sourcing American jobs hurts everyone even Rich Iott. Short term it may boost the bottom line but over the past decade we seen the results of rabid capitalism that brought us huge trade deficits and an unemployment rate that's double digit. They can promote education as the answer but without opportunity of a middle class lifestyle the country faces decline. 25% of the populous has a college education but most will never be able or qualified for further education. So what do we do with these people let them live a life of minimum wage? That will cost all of us in the long run. You may think you can hide and vote extreme right wingers into office but still what do you do with the majority that will live in poverty from policies that favor the few over the majority. At some point moving jobs to Mexico brings the lifestyle of the Mexican to America as we are forced to compete with that wage level.

Paul - the behavior is going on NOW, and it's not the evil right that's doing it!!! The Right didnt vote in the stimuloss package, and the right didnt approve Government Motors spending a half a billion of it in Mexico

The behavior is an attempt to right the wrong that has happened for the last thirty years. I think this administration like the Roosevelt administration tried many different approaches to stimulate the economy. Did they all work? No! But it did help millions who were destitute.

For the record Katie and Debbie where not aware of who I was. I think they thought I was just some adoring ditto head fan of WSPD. Hope I didn't cause them any trouble. They are good people we just disagree. I wish them well!

Looks like you were wishin' to grope them...

And of course because of Congress and President Obama's behavior, my children and grandchildren will be weighed down with trillion dollar debt. The so-called damage done over the past 30 years pales in comparison to the damage Obama, Pelosi, and Reid have done in two short years in order to placate their special interest groups...ie...Big Labor among others.

All the auto bailout and the pork-stimulus has done is reward bad behavior, poor planning, and most of all, enabled the 'culture of entitlement' that runs rampant among certain sectors of our society. Meanwhile, ordinary Americans who pay their bills, don't sign for loans that they can't pay back, go to work everyday and try to make their lives better for them and their families, continue to drown in a sea called the rising cost of living while their wages flatline. I don't see Democrats or Republicans rushing to help them out.

I'm sure it's because they don't have disposable income to contribute to their parties.

Am Heart hits the nail on the head with this post.
It is exactly how I feel an I suspect many others feel this way also.

Don't blame me,
I didn't vote for a
socialist.

This is not the first time we’ve seen a supposedly "polished" speaker dupe undecided voters into supporting them under false pretenses.

I'll let you make the connection...

Reagan???

The ladies look like they are keeping their distance.

You don't live within 2 miles of a school do you?
