Proposed 9/11 memorial

This made me laugh. I guess they would have a good view of it from there new supermosque.

No votes yet

Spineless America thanks to Obama, he goes around the world telling other nations we are shit and he apolgizes for it. On the flip side just because union bosses are stuck up Obama's ass doesn't mean the union workers are. You ever heard of the Blue Flu, how about the Mosque Flu. They might have a problem getting that built if we have any dignity left..

"DTOM" {1776} " We The People" {1791}

I agree we should blame President Obama for the only successful invasion of mainland USA since 1812.

Did I say President Obama? Maybe it was President somebody else. Hmmm, something to ponder.

How has President Obama gone around the world telling other nations we are shit? I would appreciate examples.

Mosque flu? What is your issue with (a) Islam in general and/or (b) the mosque?

Obviously you don’t pay attention to the news, Obama went to visit Chavez and other leaders apologizing for America and its faults which shows that he doesn't believe in America and its roots. i.e. Hope and Change.
As for having an issue with Islam I don't, the issue is with radical Muslim leaders wanting to build a Mosque at the 911 site. Thats like saying, lets build a Jewish Synagogue at Mecca. These two questions show me how uninformed you are. Progressives see nothing wrong with either question you asked.

"DTOM" {1776} " We The People" {1791}

....I'm going to recommend you don't use obviously.

I do pay attention to the news. I am quite aware of exactly the news the trips you speak of, it's not that secret. I do, however, disagree with your conclusion, but wanted you to clarify your thinking so we could have a more informed conversation.

So apologizing and engaging groups that we have had problems with in the past means admitting we're "shit" in your book, or being unpatriotic to our roots? Aren't we adults? Acknowledging that we have done things in the past that we (either America, or the current administation) are not proud of, apologizing when felt appropriate, and trying to work through differences without resorting to violent threats is actually a pretty mature attitude. It doesn't have to take away from pride in our country, past, present, and future. They aren't mutually exclusive. Just as admitting that we admire another country doesn't mean we think any less of our own. Seriously, we are adults. If one can't, then it'd be worth checking their maturity level.

That's funny - you are inferring that asking questions means someone's uninformed? Asking to clarify is a bad thing? I think those inferences reflect your own issues than any of mine.

First, there is no problem with asking questions. Your prior questions leave one to conclude that you were uniformed; second, the problem in my opinion is you don't go around the world apologizing to socialists/ communists countries that hate us and could care less about our policies, they see that as a means to further our demise, a weakness. The flaw in your conclusion is that it can work on a singular basis, It takes 2 to change, that will never happen with countries with dictators like Chavez.. Ahmadinejad, and Jong-il. As for clarifing, I find it mutually exclusive to have to do so with progressives on a continual basis, but I don't mind, flame-on...

"I’m announcing tonight, that I am planning to build and open the first gay bar that caters not only to the west, but also Islamic gay men. To best express my sincere desire for dialogue, the bar will be situated next to the mosque Park51, in an available commercial space.

This is not a joke. I’ve already spoken to a number of investors, who have pledged their support in this bipartisan bid for understanding and tolerance.

As you know, the Muslim faith doesn’t look kindly upon homosexuality, which is why I’m building this bar. It is an effort to break down barriers and reduce deadly homophobia in the Islamic world."

Desiree, who will be more intolerant of Gutfeld's homosexuality--Muslims or conservatives?

Pink Slip

Obviously you know nothing of Sharia Law or who Greg Gutfeld is.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sharia

"Homosexuality
Main article: Homosexuality and Islam
Homosexual activity is illicit under Sharia; however, the prescribed penalties differ from one school of jurisprudence to another. For example, these countries may allow the death penalty for sodomy and homosexual activities: Iran,[167] Mauritania,[168] Nigeria,[169] Saudi Arabia,[170] Somalia,[171]. In contrast in Indonesia (outside of Aceh province[172]) homosexuality and sodomy are legal.[173]"

Now you tell me.

Here's a good read on the obama apology tour

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB124044156269345357.html

The trouble with liberals is they can't handle the facts, their feelings get in the way.

Sodomy is illegal in Texas too...

And you are disapointed I see...

“Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.”

Needless to say, your wife and I won't be vacationing there...

Here is my "issue" with islam.

"We're all riding on the Hindenburg, no sense fighting over the window seats"-Richard Jenni

So don't move to Texas!

Desiree, those are laws of other countries. They hardly reflect the lives of Muslim-Americans. Besides, have you heard of Wisconsin GOP Senate candidate Ernest J. Pagels?

PAGELS: Hi my name is Ernest J. Pagels Jr., I’m a born again Christian, a U.S. veteran and a very conservative Republican. I’m running for U.S. Senate from the state of Wisconsin and if elected I will initiate a bill to outlaw homosexuality, abortion, and all forms of pornography. I think these are three ills that are plaguing our nation and bringing it down. And if elected, I will also initiate a bill for a Constitutional amendment which prohibits Congress and the President from spending more money than they bring in. My name is Ernest J. Pagels, Jr. and I hope you vote for me on September 14.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UbI5pPO0NeE

Pink Slip

So Pagels is the nominee for GOP in the senate?

I'd look again. Johnson is the frontrunner and before he got into the race all signs pointed to Thompson.

I can find crazy candidates for the Dems who don't have a hells chance at getting the nomination. Did you see that crazy guy who ran for President a few years back Kucinich! That dude was a total nutball.

MikeyA

Everyone should probably watch this primer on Islam.

It covers three of the most common misconceptions of Islam.
1) Islam has not been "hijacked".
2) Striving to institute Worldwide Shari'a Law is a religious duty.
3) Muslims are allowed to deceive non-muslims if it helps Islam

Don't blame me,
I didn't vote for a
socialist.

Why don't you do some research on the imam that wants this mosque at Ground Zero, Feisal Abdul Rauf. This nitwit blames the United States for the 9-11 attacks and wants western countries to become Sharia compliant. While you are at it research, Sharia Law. We have a Constitution in this country. We do not abide nor will we ever abide by Sharia Law. Also, answer the question of where the funding for this mosque is coming from, why is this not disclosed. Putting a mosque at Ground Zero is disrespecting those victims that died after Muslim extrememists used our own airplanes as bombs and flew them into the World Trade Center Towers. Why do you not have any respect for those victims and their famiiles plus all of the responders. They are still finding human remains at that site.

While you are at it, you think Sharia Law isn't in play in this country already, read about this NEW JERSEY judge accepting Sharia Law as a defense so a man could rape his wife and get away with it. Do some research on Judge Joseph Charles a family law judge whose rulling was this.

"This court does not feel that, under the circumstances, that this defendant had a criminal desire to or intent to sexually assault or to sexually contact the plaintiff when he did. The court believes that he was operating under his belief that it is, as the husband, his desire to have sex when and whether he wanted to, was something that was consistent with his practices and it was something that was not prohibited."

"An appellate court soon reversed Judge Charles' decision, but the idea that any American judge, no matter who appointed him, would actually rule that Sharia law was a defense for committing a felony should be grounds for impeachment."

EDUCATE YOURSELF before running off at the mouth with your ignorance.

Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf was hired by Bush to work with the State Department and go on a tours of the Middle East with Undersecretary of State for Public Diplomacy Karen Hughes.

Please get a clue...

Desiree, take off the tin foil hat and relax. Sharia law is not coming to the US. As the article pointed out, the judge's poor decision was reversed after an appeal. Sounds like an American court system to me. You wingnuts, always afraid of everything. How do you even put on your shoes in the morning without tripping over each other in fear?

As for the mosque, there were many Muslim-American citizens that lost their lives on 9/11 as well. What about their loved-ones? Even though they were American citizens, they do not count? That is a truly un-American sentiment.

And for your information, many well-respected American conservatives blame US foreign policy for the events of 9/11. Now go back to barking at the moon.

Pink Slip

Your point? After 9-11 there was a big political correctness push to not discriminate against Muslims. Plus, Bush isn't president now, barry is. This is happening on barry's watch.

Funny, obama's state department is using our public tax dollars to send this imam on a fund raising tour for this mosque. Please disclose where your information came from. You seem to run off at the mouth without providing facts. But, you must be one of those that believe if you tell a lie enough and blame Bush, it becomes truth.

CAIRO – Sitting firmly in his seat with a determined look in his eyes, American Imam Feisal Abdul-Rauf appears resolved to bridge the gap between the West and the Muslim world. “My purpose is to spread harmony and peace between the West and the Muslim world,” Imam Abdul-Rauf, chairman of the Cordoba Initiative, told IslamOnline.net in an exclusive interview. “My role is to see how can my work help improve this relationship.”

Imam Abdul-Rauf is currently on a State Department-sponsored tour to build bridges. “This is part of it as the work is huge and can’t be done by one person or one organization,” he said. “It is also to share people like yourself the work that we do. We need people in the media and we need people to talk to understand what we do.” He defended the US government’s support for his organization.

Is it ’separation of church and state’ to send a sharia-compliant imam to build bridges to the Muslim world while filling his coffers to build a Cordoba House overlooking Ground Zero?

This is from a July/2010 article.

He's on the State Department-sponsored tour to build bridges because Bush put him there...

You have -
http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/Foreign-Policy/2010/0811/Is-ground-zero-mos...

"His work on tolerance and religious diversity is well-known and he brings a moderate perspective to foreign audiences on what it's like to be a practicing Muslim in the United States," State Department spokesman P. J. Crowley said Tuesday. He added that the department's public-diplomacy offices "have a long-term relationship with" Rauf - including during the past Bush administration, when the religious leader undertook a similar speaking tour.

Syllabus of the Bush State Department sponsored event with Rauf, David Brooks, Karen Hughes and many others.
http://www.qatar-conferences.org/new-us-islamic/programme.html

He appears at a US-Islamic get together sponsored by the Bush Administration. Well barry obama sat on boards with domestic terrorist Bill Ayers and barry also started his political career in the Ayers home. So using your thinking, barry supports blowing up the Pentagon as the Weather Underground did when Ayers was a member of that terroist organization. We can also use your way of thinking in making the case of barry's connection with Rev. Wright and this imam.

Barry's adminstration is funding his fund raising tour now, We know things about this man's background. Why are our taxpayers dollars funding a trip for this guy? Are barry, this imam and Rev. Wright connected?

http://www.thenewamerican.com/index.php/usnews/politics/4280-controversy... .

From the August 12, 2010 article

"The State Department’s generous offer to finance Feisal’s exploits unfortunately creates a tangled web that cannot serve to bolster President Obama’s credibility. Feisal’s connections to the Free Gaza movement ties him to the terrorist organization Hamas, a group Feisel has refused to denounce, and to friends of President Obama-left-wing radicals Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, and Rashid Khalidi, who promised to launch another flotilla offensive. The coming offensive is to be called “The Audacity of Hope”, the title of President Obama’s book, which was named after the sermon of Obama’s radical minister Reverend Jeremiah Wright."

You see, the clues are starting to add up.

You get proven wrong and you change the subject...at the end of the day, the Untied States Constitution's 1st Amendment allows them to build a Mosque.

Wow! So you think its ok to build a Mosque at the 911 site? Why there? I'll bet you would have a different opinion if you had a family member that died there... Your responses are political correct when the issues don't affect you personally...
You Progressives are part of our spinless America.

"DTOM" {1776} " We The People" {1791}

It doesn't doesn’t matter “what I think”, “how I feel” or “what my opinion is”. The United States Constitution’s First Amendment gives them the right to build it.

You’re scared little school girl; who happily abandons the United States Constitution over your feeling? You are the spineless coward…

Nitwit, put on your big girl pants and read what I have posted. I am saying investigate any and all involved in this project. Where did I ever say anything of the dribble you have written.

Knowledge is Power, liberals like you have neither.

I was replying to ‘tread on me’ you moron...

Try Midol, it may help.

Your doing a fine job of trying to enlighten Socialists/Liberal/ Progressives. You will find that they need constant clarification and when presented with facts they will then spin them back into their Progressive mental models... Carry on we got your back...

"DTOM" {1776} " We The People" {1791}

Let me be crystal clear, DTOM. Many times you are asked for clarification not because people are progressives, but because you posit baseless drivel without evidence or data. When you make an outrageous statement, at least have the courtesy of backing it up. I feel that instead of using your tactics of name calling, that perhaps instead people should ask you questions to provide where your viewpoint comes from.

Their libberish is almost beyond my comprehension.

As in yellow-bellied liberal. You have proven nothing but what a mind-numbed liberal lemming you are.

The issues are, who this imam is, what his intentions are, who is funding this mosque, why build it at Ground Zero. Those questions and more need to be answered. Even moderate muslims do not agree with this. This is a hurtful to all that have suffered, the muslim religion does not believe in hurting people. This mosque situation is hurting and dividing people.

The problem with you liberals is you can't debate the facts.

Although I personally think it is tasteless, cruel and insensitive to build the Mosque in that location, it is covered in the Constitution.

For the same reason that I disagree with the Supreme Court ruling on Kelo v. City of New London. 545 U.S. 469 (2005). That is the "case decided by the Supreme Court of the United States involving the use of eminent domain to transfer land from one private owner to another to further economic development. The case arose from the condemnation by New London, Connecticut, of privately owned real property so that it could be used as part of a comprehensive redevelopment plan which promised 3,169 new jobs and $1.2 million a year in tax revenues. The Court held in a 5–4 decision that the general benefits a community enjoyed from economic growth qualified such redevelopment plans as a permissible "public use" under the Takings Clause of the Fifth Amendment.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kelo_v._City_of_New_London

It's private property. The owner can sell it to whomever they want and the city should have absolutely no say in a persons private property and/or transfer of it.

If a group does not want the mosque located in that spot, they should do what a Liberal group would do. Lay down in front of the bulldozer. Claim it is a "historic" building. Claim it is in a wetlands or some other thing. In other words, protest the buyer until they back off.

Don't blame me,
I didn't vote for a
socialist.

The city does have some say about it. Cities use zoning laws all the time to have some sort of control over what gets built and where it gets built, and I think if it's a religious site then the city has the right to approve or deny the tax exempt status based on location. I'm not positive about the tax thing though as I do not live there. Not to mention that there was some sort of classification on that building because it still has some of the landing gear in it, not entirely sure about the specifics of that either. Regardless, the city of New Yuk could easily put the brakes on this whole fiasco, if the politicians had the balls to do so

The fruits of MY labor are not a social commodity.

It was my understanding that the zoning has already been approved by NY Council. That is when this all started.
http://newsbythesecond.com/ground-zero-mosque-given-zoning-clearance/3875/

NY Council, in my opinion, did the right thing by getting out of the way. NOW it is up to the citizens. The idea of a gay bar next door is great. Also, I suggest opening an adult book store. Give one of the nearby buildings to a homeless shelter. Is there such a thing as an old folks home for ex prostitutes? That would be great across the street.

But, all of those ideas are done through private citizens. NOT the government.
The government did what they are supposed to do. Now it is up to "We The People".

Don't want a Mosque built there? GET OUT AND PROTEST. Make it impossible for workers to tear down the old building. Find out which unions have to be involved in demolition and protest them until they are too afraid to step close to the building. Find out which permits need to be approved, then protest those government departments until they are too afraid to approve permits. It happens all the time everywhere in America, but normally Conservatives do not play this Libtarded game.

Don't blame me,
I didn't vote for a
socialist.

But, let's investigate who is behind this and disclose where the money is coming from. Let's not have another, "We have to pass the bill before we find out what's in it" moment.

The Iman supports hamas...the libtards support the Imam...oh gee...who didnt see that coming a mile away....

“Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.”

Bush vouched for the guy…figured he was ok.

Everyone knows there has been a mosque in the Pentagon for year?

http://www.salon.com/news/politics/war_room/2010/08/05/muslims_infiltrat...

Wait, a mosque? Inside the Pentagon? Which was attacked on 9/11? That's ok, but a cultural center on private property, several blocks from "Ground Zero" in NY City, must be "refudiated?"
