Latta Announces 2010 Congressional Art Competition

BOWLING GREEN- Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) is proud to announce the 2010 Congressional Art Competition for Ohio’s Fifth Congressional District. The competition is open to all high school students who reside in the Fifth Congressional District.

“The Congressional Art Competition is an excellent chance for high school students across our great nation to showcase their artistic ability, and I look forward to seeing the great artistic talent students in the Fifth District possess,” Latta said in today’s announcement.

Artwork will hang in the Capitol for the entire year of the exhibition. Congressman Latta’s three district offices will accept artwork from March 29th through April 9th. All artwork received will be on display on Saturday, May 8th, at the Dorothy Uber Bryan Art Gallery on the campus of Bowling Green State University.

Artwork categories are as follows:

· Paintings: oil, acrylics, watercolor, etc.

· Drawings: pastels, colored pencil, pencil, charcoal, ink, markers

· Collage: must be two dimensional

· Prints: lithographs, silkscreen, block prints

· Mixed Media: use of more than two mediums such as pencil, ink, etc.

· Computer generated art

· Photography
