Well we are finally free of Carty Finkbeiner. In The Blade I read that our newly inaugurated Mayor announced that the new Welcome To Toledo signs would not bear his name. No ego-massaging signs for Mr. Bell as we had for Finkbeiner. Instead of the new mayor's name being displayed on the signs we will see an image of a rocket! How great! The Blade's cartoonist Kirk stuck Finkbeiner with the title Hizzoner. A great suggestion for all the pundits out there: let's call our new mayor Mike "The Rocketman" Bell! After all I am sure that in the next four years it will be an apt description for Bell and what he does to the city of Toledo. Watch Toledo crash and burn like a misguided rocket.

Here's to the crazy ones, the rebels, the troublemakers, the ones who see things differently -- they're not fond of rules... You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can't do is ignore them.
The Detroit papers used to call Coleman Young "Hizzoner". Look what happened to that once great city! But at least Mayor Narcissist is no longer running (or is it ruining?) Toledo any more.
