Once again the South YMCA Coalition does it's best to shoot themselves in the foot. It really makes you wonder what these people really want and what their motives really are. Teresa Fedor comes out against the Y? please, this organization does more good for kids than any other place in Toledo. So Teresa you're going to throw your support around a coalition whose leader has court cases against him for non child support payments and not paying his taxes. Let's see how this gets you re-elected. They want a new Y built in South Toledo but are going to boycott the organization that they want to build it? does this make sense? How do you raise money for something if it's being boycotted? This just sounds like more craziness from a small group of people who couldn't raise enough interest to save the Y in the first place.
South YMCA Coalition Craziness

We are only asking for the Y to commit to a South side facility . And for some transparency in spending on parties, credit cards , and car expenses. And should the director of a non profit make such a big 6 figure salary ? How much does the governor of our whole state make?
If the members disagree with us , we will know .
Let s see how they feel about these issues and more.
It appears from what has been reported that there has been transparency in spending as the Attorney General has all of the records. I wouldn't turn my books over to bunch of people that make these crazy propositions and I don't know any organziation that would. If you look at LisaRenee's salary analysis it appears that this 6 figure salary for the size of the organization is not out of line. I just don't understand how you propose to have people cancel their memberships, which I would think is the Y's mainstay, and still have them be financially viable to build anything? This just doesn't make sense! It appears that the true motive is just plain meaness without a sensible goal. I have faith in the community that they will see through this kind of craziness.

This is typical of Toledo.
It's residents don't live in reality. They live in a fantasy world where they believe somehow magically the Y won't move, NAFTA will be undone, and the people they vote for time and time again will someone bring about change.

Well, the people that get elected do bring about change - just not changes that improve the city. I thought Obama was supposed to fix NAFTA, but perhaps not. Still, it's early yet, so The Anointed One may still be able to pull off an eleventh hour solution.
As for the Y, it's easy. The people in the south end are tired of being shafted. What, is that so hard to understand? Executive salaries were incredibly high. Nepotism was rampant. The building wasn't being kept up and there was no mention of any financial trouble over the past three or four years. Then, right out of the blue local residents learn that the property is going to be given away to a mega-church of holy rollers. What do you expect the residents to do, Lulu? Even someone as incredibly stupid and ignorant as you are ought to be able to figure this one out without help.

Mad Jack's Shack
Sounds like typical toledo insanity. I think the deer in OH were texting (while driving) one another about this issue? Or maybe Ben had it on the agenda at Childrens Wonderland? Possibly Dan Burns was involved in selling the property utilizing equipment funds from cleveland? Actually, maybe this issue surfaced due to the small seat sizes at the new arena? Maybe the dog warden ought to get involved?
In fact it would seem like he ought to be involved in the deer problem in OH:) Maybe appointing Ms. Fedor as the new dog warden, Y exec., TPS school superintendant, and offical seat size checker at the arena, would solve everything?
Have a Merry, insert your favorite holiday here, time.
Madjack.....if you are the spokesperson for South Toledo that would be reason enough that you're feeling shafted. You still did not answer how your end game of boycotting and having people cancel memberships gets you what you want....a new building. You ask what would I expect the residents to do.....get behind the organization that you wish to keep in your neighborhood and help them to raise the money to build a new building. It is apparent that this organization is of worth to you and South Toledo, so why would you want to criminalize and destroy what you want to keep? It truely doesn't make sense! I mean would you as a business owner say "hey, those South end people really are a great bunch that support us so let's figure out how to build something for them". I think not.....I'd be trying to figure out how the heck to get as far away from the craziness as possible.
Allin.....wow! How better to sum up the craziness.
