Just checked in with NWS Houston. The preliminary daily climate summary up to 1700hrsCDT showed 0.8" of snow had fallen. This would make it the earliest snowfall on record. Heavier amounts were reported around the area. Winter storm warnings continue for a while yet and shift ENE into Louisianna and central MS as the evening wears on. Feel for those folks as they don't have plows and too many spreaders...

Just got an e-mail from my brother who lives in Colorado. He and his wife are in Houston so she can get treatment at some big cancer center there.
He said all kinds of people were taking pictures of it snowing, he was amazed at all the fuss. He asked about it and was told that it has only snowed ther about 20 times in the last 150 years.

can this be? Gore said we are all going too die by runaway global warming. How can there be snow there? Maybe it is a big joke, like Scientology. That would explain why Gore burns through $28K of natural gas a month for his massive mansion.
Hey Chris, do you think this is why Gore has canceled a climate lecture he was supposed to deliver in Copenhagen?

I really wish conservatives would go back to 8th science class and learn the difference between antidotal evidence and scientific evidence.
I could easily talk about how my uncles used to take their cars out onto lake Erie to ice fish back in the 60’s and 70’s and now people are losing ATVs and snow mobiles out on the ice the last decade. But this would be anecdotal evidence, not scientific evidence and prove nothing.
