Only in Toledo do you have to take a class to put out your garbage

Unbelievable, the citizens in Toledo are going to classes on how to put out your garbage.
It won't be that long before this hits the National news. Watching the people on TV they are so engrossed in the class they overlook how stupid this is. It is easy to understand how the politicians get away with this nonsense.

Why is this a problem? There is a new system and many people have quite a few questions. The sessions are designed to familiarize citizens with the new automated trash system. I am sure many seniors and other people without access to the Internet have questions and concerns about the changes.

Would you prefer that the city simply dumps the new system on its citizens and leaves them in the dark?

Pay $3.50 / week for unlimited pickup. No classes needed. All I do is put everything out to the curb same day every week. Don't have to worry about the schedule changing because of holidays, recycling, or how to properly place my trash.

Hasn't the city said that the workers who will no longer be needed in the solid waste division will be moved to other departments?
If this is true, where is the savings coming from? Seems like it will cost more with the new trucks and all.

and if there's a savings, why does Carty want to raise our rates?

It wasn't a class on trash at all. It was a public forum to share information with people and answer their questions.

Yes, they had the cans there so people could see them but it was not some "classroom" scenario where people were "taught" how to put out their trash.

We don't remember days only moments...
