I heard he was quoting V for Vendetta while shooting up the place. He was chanting "Remember Remember the 5th of november."

There's no doubt that the major had a Muslim name, but no evidence that he practiced religion, especially the violent versions of sectors of Islam. He might have been just a crazy loon who managed to make it up the ranks of the U.S. military and then cracked when he got his overseas orders. Who wants to go to Iraq? But the confluence of a Muslim name, Jordanian parents, sharp-shooting skills, and the killing and wounding of dozens of innocent soldiers does seem to fall into the familiar pattern of how some Muslims like to kill as many as they can before they are killed themselves. Today's tragedy at Ft. Hood notwihstanding, it's a g--damned shame that peace-loving Muslims have no power to stop the slaughter of innocents in the name of their own religion. They kill us. They kill themselves and others while they do it. What a religion Islam must be. I feel bad for Muslim-Americans who are tight with what the U.S. is and what it offers. They'll be under a spotlight again. I hope to God (not Allah) that the shooter was just a deranged psychologist, not a soldier for Islamist blood-letting. But he's dead so we'll probably never know.

automatically make excuses for this guy. "Well, maybe he wasn't a practicing muslim." Give me a break. If it would have come out that he was a Christian and yelled god is great before shooting....you all wouldn't have given a christian the same benefit of the doubt.
When will we stop be over tolerant and coddling the enemy? Maybe after we're all under Sharia Law, wearing burka's and stoning our women and children for petty crimes.
Why do you say Islam is the enemy? Yikes. When you lead with a statement like that, there is no room for reason. I dare you to walk up to the 3,500 Muslims currently serving in our armed forces and say that. The countless Muslims living in America as citizens. How patriotic. No one is making excuses for the guy, just that this isn't a defacto religion-inspired act because he happens to be Muslim. You are jumping to a conclusion way ahead of any facts. You are committing the very act that you claim others do to Christians.
As an aside, I never hear people exclaim "Christianity is evil" when a white Christian murders someone. Never. Ever. I don't know where you do?

I will wait before I say this is Muslim extremism. Everything else just sounds like he was pist off he was getting deployed and tried to prevent it in multiple avenues.

The military WAITED so damn long and refused to acknowledge his obvious hatred towards America and its policies...that now 13 people are dead that shouldn't be.
The media keeps portraying this as some sort of act of of stress from war. I was in the first Iraq war...I have a hard time buying the media spin on this...the guy wasn't even deployed yet....he had been in Texas for most of his military career.
How in the world does a guy become a Major in the U.S. military when he posts websites about his support for Jihad.
This is the result of political correctness and over-tolerance run amok.
