According to the Post, Kaptur was interviewed last week about her activities.

====

The investigations by two separate ethics offices include an examination of the powerful subcommittee chairman, John P. Murtha (D-Pa.), as well as others who helped the PMA Group secure earmarks for clients. The lawmakers received campaign contributions from the firm and its clients. Records obtained by The Washington Post show that the members under scrutiny also include Peter J. Visclosky (D-Ind.), James P. Moran Jr. (D-Va.), Norm Dicks (D-Wash.), Marcy Kaptur (D-Ohio) , C.W. Bill Young (R-Fla.) and Todd Tiahrt (R-Kan.).

and also:

Together, the seven members have personally steered more than $200 million in earmarks to clients of the PMA Group in the last two years and received more than $6.2 million in campaign contributions from PMA and its clients in the last decade, according to an analysis by Congressional Quarterly and Taxpayers for Common Sense.

also:

The OCE has interviewed some of the lawmakers, including Kaptur last week and Moran a few weeks ago. It has invited others in for interviews, such as Visclosky, and posed numerous questions to the members' staff.

Kaptur's spokesman said her office does not understand the duplication but is happy to answer all questions. "The congresswoman has always emphasized openness and transparency, and it almost goes without saying she will continue to cooperate with the OCE and, if it goes to the Committee on Standards, with that committee as well," said Kaptur spokesman Steve Fought. "She has nothing to hide."

I sought out more info on this subject in the Blade.

Looked in their politics/elections column and didnt see anything, and then went to the search and looked under "Kaptur". Found plenty there with Marcy's name in the story, but none regarding this subject...

Maybe if she were a member of the Y...

The last sentence...
The committee, however, has not announced an investigation of any of these lawmakers.

HUH?

That Nancy Pelosi stopped the culture of corruption?

Another example of why we need across the board term limits. The longer someone is in office the greater the chance/opportunity for them to go corrupt.

Corrupt or innocent, why didnt this make the Blade?

Face it, in this city - if the words politician and ethics appear in a story, it's newsworthy - any party, not for just the party the Blade doesnt like.

Look at the clothes she wears?

No wonder she doesn't do any town halls in Toledo

I would be surprised this has any merit. Marcy has made a lot of enemies lately appearing in Moores Movie and appearances on Bill Maher show. Her enemies are digging she lives a simple life in a modest home in west Toledo. She surrounds herself with working class people. I don't see her being corrupted by money.

Those are the facts. What makes Marcy a hypocrite is her stance on special interests:

Too bad her pocket book does not reflect her mouth.

The thing is I have a lot more on exact evidence of donors giving Marcy money then getting a big federal contracts but I don't have enough time to write it. Case in point, look at Xunlight, a PMA client and when they gave money to Kaptur and when they got a big federal award. The evidence is all documented for those who want to find it. It is there with other clients.

There is more, we have not heard the end of this.

An investigation sounds like the right course to take. Perhaps the truly corrupt can get weeded out, and the rest can have their names cleared.

Pink Slip

OK Chris after a quick look at what you had as evidence I agree with Pink Slip an investigation sounds like the right course to take. But we all know she's made a lot of enemies on both the right and the left for her independent streak. I think they've called out the dogs. I don't see why she would need all that money. Her campaigns are never really challenged by anyone but of criminals like Ed Emory. Her constituents are solid. What does she need or do with all that money? Last time I seen her she was harvesting food in a farm field for the local food bank. Would you see Bob Latta do that?

Ok

why is she accepting so much money from a corrupt lobbying group if there is no reason for it? One has to wonder?

If Bob Latta was on the short list, he would be here regardless of being in a field gathering food.

Marcy is the one bringing this on herself.

BS Issue, he first avers

I would be surprised this has any merit. - then admitting he doesnt know for sure.

a quick look at what you had as evidence I agree with Pink Slip an investigation sounds like the right course to take. AH - what a little education will do! But it took Pink to bring you to that conclusion, didnt it?

Would you see Bob Latta do that? - and of course the bringing in of someone completely outside the subject to focus the attention elsewhere.

Lawd, how predictable can it get?

I bring balance to this blog. You can't be objective if only one side is speaking here. If I were like some other posters I would have denied Chris's position totally out of hand but I think it may have some merit and we'll let the chip fall where they may. I still feel I'm a good judge of character as I've stated before but we'll see.

In your first post on this thread, you DID deny it out of hand. It wasnt till someone gave you your opinion did you settle down. Now sit. Stay.
