Helping Planned Pethood

Just a quick plug for a worthy cause, Planned Pethood. The group - which is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded over 30 years ago - has a goal of reducing the overpopulation and suffering of dogs and cats through educational programs as well as low-cost spay/neuter programs. Planned Pethood also rescues, vets, and places adoptable dogs and cats into good permanent homes.

Planned Pethood is always looking for fosters who are willing to take rescued dogs and cats into their homes until they can be adopted. If you cannot foster, the group is always looking for volunteers to help with projects, donations of money or pet supplies in any amount, or those who wish to become members.

I have been a foster for three years now, and we have also adopted four dogs from Planned Pethood. As someone with experience in working with non-profits, I can tell you that the group really has its act together, and there are many dozens of motivated fosters and volunteers who pitch in and save thousands of dogs and cats each year.

Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this, and also thanks for any help you can give to Planned Pethood.

For being a foster. My wife and I have adopted twice from PP, we've guided a sister to adopt once from PP, at our recommendation my mom has adopted her dog from PP, and my in laws have gotten two from them.

Stellar dogs every one. It's a wonderful organization with wonderful people. If you're looking for a local charitable investment where the cash does NOT go to admin, you couldnt find a better one.

When I wanted to get another dog 5 years ago, I decided to get a rescue from Planned Pethood. This dog brings me joy everyday. My brother did the same getting 2 dogs from them. I have referred my friends to Planned Pethood for their potential pets. This is a wonderful ogranization and in these hard times with people losing their homes and people strapped for cash these organizations are overwhelmed and trying to care for more animals with less resources.
Not to steal the thunder of your post, my vet also just posted on his facebook that Paws And Whiskers (I got my first rescued cat from them), the only no-kill cat shelter in NWO is in desperate need also. Both the PP and the P.A.W. websites have ways to help if you can't donate or adopt. www.pawsandwhiskers.org
Thank you for all you do Mike!
