Oregon Schools Tax Levy Fails

Well I guess that the people here in the Oregon School District have spoken their piece. With a 29.5% turnout 76% of the votes were "NO"! A 30% turnout for a single issue primary is not to be sneezed at when you consider that at times the turnout for a general election can be much less. And 76% saying "NO!" should...or better...send a signal to those that would like to the taxes for those of us that are still working or own property.

Taxes Are Like Drugs, Just Say NO !

76% of the votes were "NO"

Well, you'd better get ready for war. If the Oregon school district is like most, they have spending plans in place and your silly NO vote is standing in the way.

Expect to see the school district push back through your children. Outright propaganda papers will start arriving, attached to your kids. Cuts will happen in programs having the widest effect on the students. Etc.

They want that money. It's only a formality to give you the vote to approve it ... or so they think. Despite the heavy NO vote, you will still need to organize to combat the coming PR campaign ... which they will enact with YOUR MONEY, ironically.

Or

or they will tear down their school mid summer and begin building a new one with their current funds and then say "oops we need more money".
