WHY: To become educated regarding the current healthcare legislation in the US House and Senate, and to hear perspectives from professionals in the medical and insurance fields regarding the facts of this proposed legislation.
Toledo- The Children of Liberty, a local non-partisan citizens group, will host a FREE educational seminar about the proposed healthcare legislation before the US House and Senate. With a potential vote slated before the August recess, we will host fact finding seminars for two consecutive days. On Monday, July 27th at the Heatherdowns Branch, the focus this evening will be with a consortium of medical professionals. They will speak to the effects that such legislation will have on quality of care and efficiency. On Tuesday, July 28th at the Holland Branch Library, insurance industry professionals from Kaminisky and Associates and United Healthcare will be present to discuss the role of the broker and the direct insurer under the new proposals. They will give professional insight on competition and the effect of such legislation on small business. The message should reinforce the pros and cons of a national healthcare option, dispel the myths and provide facts based on their professional research of the proposed legislation.
