There may be 25 candidates who have turned in petitions to run for Toledo City Council, but only ten have been certified so far for the September 15th primary ballot-- half of those (5) from the coalition of independent candidates known as Teamwork Toledo.
The group that is making local political history as the only coalition of independent candidates to seek local office, Teamwork Toledo is hosting a fundraiser Monday evening, 5:30-7 p.m. at The Attic, 17th and Adams downtown, above Manos Greek Restaurant. The suggested donation is $20 and includes free appetizers. There will be a cash bar.
The public is invited to show its support for the independent candidates who seek to become public servants. Teamwork Toledo represents three basic principles: no new taxes, back-to-basics city government, and a business-friendly community.
All five Teamwork Toledo members have been certified for the ballot by the Lucas County Board of Elections: Kevin Milliken, Tricia Lyons, John Adams, Jr., Michael Watson, and Ty Daniels.
