WHY: To become educated regarding economics, capitalism and how tax and spending by our government effects the basic principles of a free market society.

Maumee- The Children of Liberty, a local non-partisan citizens group, will host a FREE educational seminar about economics. Gary Rathbun, President and CEO of Private Wealth Consultants and guest on Brian Wilson's "After the Bell" on WSPD will be speaking. Also, Scott Allegrini, the Children of Liberty's founder, will take the "economic vocabulary" and break it down in terms that the audience can comprehend and apply to everyday life. Recession, depression, inflation, deflation, hyperinflation, taxes, bailouts, stimulus, Capitalism, Socialism? What does it all mean? Why is it important that you know what it means? How does it effect you? Whether it is supply and demand, the effect inflation has on your purchasing power, or just how to read your paycheck, economics is important and the speakers will tackle it head on. The message should reinforce a belief that as Americans, it is our civic duty, to be educated about fiscal responsibility in our own lives, so that we can expect the same of our elected officials.
