Toledo, OH – Friday night, seven grassroots Republican clubs of Lucas County hosted the first annual Lucas County Republican Clubs’ Charitable Dinner, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the Toledo Seagate Food Bank.
The event welcomed special guests Jon Husted, former Speaker of the House and Republican candidate for Secretary of State, and Dave Yost, Delaware County Prosecutor and Republican candidate for State Attorney General. The crowd of over *125* attendees included current and former state legislators, judges, municipal office holders, candidates and other local Republican activists.
“The event raised several hundred dollars and countless cans of food for the Toledo Seagate Food Bank,” said Christine Seles, president of the Fallen Timbers Republican Club. “I am thrilled that in these tough economic times, Republicans stepped up to the plate for a good cause to benefit our community.”
Bob Reichert, *Chairman Emeritus* of the Lucas County Republican Party, served as master of ceremonies for the dinner. The evening culminated in an awards ceremony in which Patrick Kriner was inducted into the Lucas County GOP Clubs’ Hall of Fame to honor his years of service to the party and his continued honorable representation at the Lucas County Board of Elections.
“We’re going to continue on fighting for what is right in Lucas County,” Kriner said upon receiving the award. “I want to thank the Lucas GOP clubs for this recognition.”
The crowd roared with applause and gave Kriner a standing ovation as he exited the stage. “ Patrick Kriner is a dedicated public servant, a model Republican and well-deserving of the award,” said attendee Will Harbauer.
Other award recipients included:
· Abraham Lincoln Elected Official of the Year: Derek Merrin, mayor of Waterville
· Rutherford B. Hayes Phonebanker of the Year: Jonathan Binkley, State Central Committee
· Profiles in Courage: Lucas County Board of Elections
· Blogger of the Year: Chris Myers, Swamp Bubbles. Mr. Myers was unable to attend the event due to a previous commitment and will be presented his award at a future date.
The event was an impressive collaboration by the Lucas County African-American Republican Club, Toledo Young Republicans, Fallen Timbers Republican Club, Sylvania Area Republicans, Greater Toledo Republican Women’s Club, Oregon Republican Club, and the Greater Toledo Republican Club. In addition, a table was purchased by the Ohio Hispanic Republican Assembly. The event *also* included a representative of the Lucas County Republican Party (LCRP) who was gracious enough to video tape the event. As
of press time, it is unclear if the LCRP representatives paid admission to the event. An invoice may be sent to the individuals payable to the Toledo Seagate Food Bank pending investigation.

there was no mention of Jon (Sue) (the Stain) Stainbrook.
