What liberals just dont get....

To take a play off Ben franklin...

"Those who would trade their financial freedom for economic security, deserve neither...and will have neither"

I LOVE THIS CARTOON.

It shows the major WELFARE queens of the nation:

Farmers
Unions
Politicians
Businessmen

So, John Q. Public has to step in to deal with the "freedom for sale" HUCKSTER while these welfare queens howl with impatience to sign their liberties away to Socialism. Mr Public remembered the heart of REAL, free enterprise, which rests upon a foundation of INDIVIDUAL liberty. Naturally, the welfare queens have no use for individual liberty, having their own niches already carved out for them.

(Please note WELL that "too big to fail" only means "IT'S TOO BIG" in the first place. That's another thing we've forgotten about.)

This cartoon was made in the 'Fifties as a broadside against Communism. It has little relevance today. It's interesting historically, but for you to try to make it into something that is a commentary on today's events is ridiculous.

Ah yes...it has nothing to do with today....and I'm the idiot...

I didnt try to make it anything...I simply posted it...

Even my 7 yr old got it....I guess you're not smarter than a 1st grader...

“Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.”

"and I'm the idiot."

Yes!!!!

Oh boy..someone put thier finger on the G-spot...got a tingle up his leg...

Thank you Mr felcher...

“Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.”

Pete, what are you smoking tonight? It has EVERY application to today:

Farmers - Decades of heavy and absurd farm subsidies.

Unions - Auto-company bailouts and "loans" (i.e. bailouts).

Politicians - Watch the cartoon and see how AS PREDICTED they don't dare tell the truth and just keep repeating "all is well".

Businessmen - These welfare queens have raped us for TRILLIONS by now, primarily in banking, but as you should know, banking now supports most business acts.

What's going on at the federal and state levels with subsidies, bailouts, abatements, stimuli, and the like, is PURE SOCIALISM. Even worse: Socialism for the rich.

AND ... just as in the cartoon, you, your children, and their children are giving up your liberties and are being setup to pay for all this crap.

I guess I don't see your point. The focus of the cartoon is on the ISM snake-oil seller, who wants to buy the freedoms of the union guy, the capitalist, the farmer, and the politician. The ISM guy is Commun-ISM or Nazi-ISM personified. This has nothing to do with anything today. To try otherwise is ridiculous and stretching the point to an extreme. As much as I thought the previous administration was wrong and probably criminal, I never thought that our basic freedoms were seriously in question, and to aim this dated cartoon at the new administration is overreaching, although I am concerned about its actions, too.

This is a dated and worn-out piece, but interesting as an historical cartoon.

Liberal-ism.

“Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.”

Conservat-ISM. This is ridiculous. This cartoon is over fifty years old. It has NO relevance today. As far as I'm concerned, a pox on both their Republican and Democrat houses. Libertarians RULE... well, maybe sometime soon.

LMAO...sure kid...how did Bob Barr do last turn at bat?

Gee...wasnt he a life long republican?

Funny thing is...I know a few libertarians....they are beside themselves over what Obama and the dems are doing...they have no problem calling Obama a socialist...

...but I never mentioned party....your mind filled in the blank for you...

Well done Mr pavlov.

Not that I'm comparing the two...but the constitution is over 200 years old...is it still relevent today?

“Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.”

Social-ism. I'll say it!

If man has no tea in him, he is incapable of understanding truth. ~Japanese Proverb

Bah...you dont count...you are obviously some kind of insane feline who learned to operate a keyboard...

“Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.”

Wow. That straw man is going to be sore tomorrow.

Nah...he's fine...he just went out for a cheese burger with grey poupon...

if he only had a brain....

Well, they obviously don't practice what they preach. From Harding College's Student Handbook:

The consumption, possession or storage of alcoholic beverages of any kind is prohibited. This prohibition includes on or off-campus locations. Violation of this policy will result in suspension from the University.

The use of tobacco in any form is not permitted at any time.

That's just the beginning of Harding's infringement on student rights:

The student, by being enrolled at the University, consents and grants to the University the right to enter and/or search that student’s room, with or without the student’s presence, to search his or her possessions that are in or on University property

Did Dr. Utopia write the student handbook? Surprisingly, the handbook did not include a clause requiring those living off campus to give quarter to faculty and staff. It did contain this gem:

The student, by being enrolled at the University, directs and authorizes the University to refuse any item sent to the student through any means, including Mail Services, if the University finds possession of the item by the student would be inappropriate, would violate the rules and regulations of the University, or would be contrary to the mission of the University.

Or in other words, you now get 51 issues of Sports Illustrated and the football phone for $39.

But it gets even worse. This is the first rule in the women's dress code:

Tops must have at least 2-inch shoulder straps. Clothing must not be lowcut and may not reveal cleavage or the midriff. Halter tops are not permitted.

After reading that section of the handbook, I'm left with only one question: How does Harding College's dean sleep at night?

But beyond the draconian no-cleavage rule (which is clearly a product of a demented Bolshevik mind) the school has strayed far from its ideals. Harding's dean should seriously think about a 12 step program to help kick their Ism habit, because only someone shooting Ism intravenously could come up with the "Right to Search" clause and think it would fly.

There's a city full of walls you can post complaints at

Standard alinski technique....

Attack the messenger...ignore the message...I dont give a rats ass where it's from...it's as true today as it was in 1948...

I allways love how people subconsiously pick their online nicknames too...

Hand banana...how appropriate....

The cartoon is from 1948....just a few years after the war...

The reviews from liberals much like yourself are almost cut and paste...

And I'll be DAMNED if I'm going to be apologetic to some liberal who gladly embraces and foments class warfare and communist ideals of the collectivism over the right of the individual.

The actions of liberals speak much louder than their words.

To play off franklin

Those would surrender financial freedom for economic security deserve neither.

MAKE MINE FREEDOM.

“Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.”

Corporat-ISM is what we should be fighting against. Both parties have "bought" into it (and I don't think the Libertarians are any different).

Pink Slip

Here is something I can agree with you on...only where this is heading is more correctly called corporate facsim...

A corporation should never have been deemed to have "personhood"....

Now that the federal Govt has a controlling intrest and a financial stake in GM and chrysler...Ford should be VERY nervous...
