ACORN beats Buckeye Institute

A federal judge has recommended the dismissal of a lawsuit brought by a conservative group against an organization that promotes voter participation through registration drives.

Magistrate Judge Timothy Black in Cincinnati released the opinion Wednesday in the suit brought by the Buckeye Institute against the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, known as ACORN. (cont.)

ACORN has been charged with election fraud in nevada where they submitted 19,000 fake registrations....

The ACORN never falls far from the Obama tree...

Not surprised you'd support organized crime from democrats though...

The police clerk who rifled through Joe the plumbers records is an ACORN volunteer...

ACORN should be investigated under the RICO statutes.....

“Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.”

Post a link for your claim that the Toledo PD clerk is an ACORN volunteer. As I understood the story, a blogger mistook a "Julie McConnel" (one letter L) on an ACORN membership list for "Julie McConnell" (2 letter Ls), the TPD clerk.

As I recall, the clerk admitted under oath that she did it as a favor to a news reporter, and not in some purported capacity as an ACORN operative.

But post the link, anyways. If I am incorrect in what I remember, I will buy you a coffee.

You may in fact be correct...the last time I noted an item on it ...there was no question of the spelling...

That's new info for me and I'll do a bit of looking....

The only link I could provide would be without that spelling change...an older article...

Do you have a link to the new facts?

“Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.”

Hmmm.....seems to be the case....

I'd still like to them both in the same place at the same time...

I can easily find Julie McConnell..even her address and phone number...

There is no public info available on a Julie McConnel in toledo Ohio.

And the Ohio ACORN site is gone unless the URL changed...

I'd love to see your link to prove these are two different people...

Seriously...if I'm wrong I will admit it...but you're going to have to prove it....people mispell my last name all the time...doesnt mean I'm different people...

“Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.”

'Nevada Secretary of State Ross Miller emphasized the case involved "registration fraud, not voter fraud," and insisted that no voters in Nevada were paid for votes and no unqualified voters were allowed to cast ballots.'

we can conclude that yes, corners were cut by some individuals and improprieties existed, but in reaity it had nothing with the outcome of the election, either in Nevada or nationwide.

Voter registration fraud and actual voter fraud are two very different sets of circumstances.

It's easy, and all too convenient for some, to attempt to make no distinction between the two.

The media unwillingly plays a part, as the main MSNBC headline here is not factual.

Here is the only link I could find to the McConnell-ACORN connection being debunked. It's a right-wing blogger; read down toward the bottom for his apologies at making the connection.

Here is a Blade article indicating that McConnell ran the check on Joe the Plumber as a favor to a television reporter. She later was given a verbal reprimand for her intrusion into the database to try and dig up dirt on Joe the Plumber.

yeah I got all that...and saw a couple updates as well....

But the only proof offered is the mispelling....so where is this other Julie M McConnel?

“Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.”

YOU made the claim, so YOU back it up. I am not going to do your research for you. While I question like many people some of ACORN's tactics, I grow weary of rumor-mongering as a substitute for factual discussion.

LOL

I knew this one was coming.

Forget about it--he doesn't have any 'facts'.

Vintage Zeitgeist:

'Seriously...if I'm wrong I will admit it...but you're going to have to prove it....people mispell my last name all the time...doesnt mean I'm different people...'

Look it up your damn self....there ARE no other Julie McConnell's...and I can find no one with the spelling "McConnel" in NW ohio at all....not one single listing.

http://www.phonesbook.com/840-OH-Toledo/

Oh and BTW...my number isnt just unlisted...it's "non published"..and I can still find myself here...so that dog wont hunt either...

If you guys can produce the other julie...then I would obviuosly be incorrect...

“Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.”

WHO CARES? It doesn't matter it McConnell volunteer for ACORN or not. It has nothing to do with anything. It just doens't matter.

Pink Slip

Couldnt find the other one I take it...so now "who cares"....

Lame but utterly predictable...

“Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.”

For starters, you cannot even seem to handle an Internet search. There are at least four Julie McConnells in Toledo:

JULIE M MCCONNELL
105 CALIFORNIA BLVD
TOLEDO, OH 43612

JULIE MCCONNELL
3125 ILGER AVE
TOLEDO, OH 43606

JULIE L MCCONNELL
3508 WILLYS PKWY
TOLEDO, OH 43612

JULIE L MCCONNELL
859 OAK ST
TOLEDO, OH 43605

Second, you ASSUME (probably because you so badly want the TPD McConnell and the ACORN McConnel to be the same) that this Julie McConnell lives in Toledo. The Julie McConnel (one L) referenced in the blogs as an ACORN volunteer was on an Ohio list.

You know, the state?

It is entirely possible that the ACORN list had a typo, BTW, but this is a moot point.

There are also Julie McConnells in Elyria, Cortland, Marysville, Athens, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Wooster, Barnesville, and Wellington OH, along with probably another five or six cities not worth my time to mention here. All told, there are probably 30 Julie McConnells in Ohio.

US Search lists a "Julie McConnel" (one L) in Toledo, but I am not going to pay the $19.95 to find out her address, nor do I care.

But go ahead: stick to your discredited story, and don't bother doing any research to back up your claims. Never let facts get in the way of a good rumor, dude.

WOW....I cant believe you posted these womans full names and addresses...I didnt even do that...

Yeah it's easy enough to find...but sheesh...that's just not done...

What did you use to find them BTW....I looked with several types of engines and a couple public records searches....only the julie from the article came up...as I noted...

Quite possible the last one you found is the julie on the acorn list...I couldnt find any matches with that spelling and you did....and I also note the age difference...

Guess that means I was WRONG....I can at least be man enough to admit when I'm WRONG....as I said I would...

I didnt just slink off and ignore this post....

Good digging!...now maybe you can find Obama's college thesis and grades...*snicker*

“Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.”

These addresses (and more) are already on the Internet, and I deleted birthdates, phone numbers, and other highly personal info. These four were from another post on the topic at a right-wing political blog, so at worst I am guilty of reprinting info that is already on the Web.

Anyways, thanks for manning up. I apologize for the ALL CAPS indignation that fired you up.

:-}

I can only find ONE Julie M McConnell in toledo public records...

In fact...I can find NO ONE in toledo with that spelling "McConnel"....so even if she is off the grid somehow...this julie McConnel has NO family here?

When you can find me the other "Julie McConnel" I'll believe it wasnt her...

“Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.”

I think the ACORN fear-mongering is somewhat of a good thing, in the sense that it will force them to review and change the ill-advised practice of paying workers per signature. But equating it to organized crime is just stupid.

Pink Slip

The name you should be Googleing is "Georgianne Pitts"

Remember her? The NAACP member who was paying her Voter Registration workers with Crack.

"Defiance County Sheriff David Westrick said that Mr. Staton was working on behalf of a Toledo woman, Georgianne Pitts, to register new voters. She, in turn, was working on behalf of the NAACP National Voter Fund, which was formed by the NAACP in 2000 to register new voters.

Sheriff Westrick said that Pitts, 41, of Toledo, admitted she gave Mr. Staton crack cocaine in lieu of cash for supplying her with completed voter registration forms. The sheriff declined to say how much crack cocaine Pitts supplied Mr. Staton, or to say whether Pitts knew that the forms Mr. Staton gave her were falsified."

I didn't vote for a
