According to the Mayor in a letter sent to employees the other day the city is in dire straits. We are losing millions of dollars each week that we don't solve our budget crisis. The Mayor says the unions must give concessions. So why the hell did the city walk away from the bargaining table today?
Dan Wagner TPPA head says the city tossed a proposal on the table after lunch and said we have to go now. WTF!!!!!! Apparently Theresa Gabriel had something more important to do? I don't know, I saw her in One Government Center at 2p when I was down there for the TBT petition delivery. She sure didn't seem busy to me, just standing and talking with people including Tom Troy of the Blade. Why wasn't she at the negotiations, why did they just walk out? Now the city tells TPPA call us next week we'll set up a day in the future. WTF !!!!! What happened to the exigent circumstances we are supposed to be suffering?
Thank God there are at least 45-50 thousand intelligent people out there willing to sign the petition.
Blatant Media Alert-TPPA Head Wagner With Fred On Friday Morning

what is the total amount of signatures? Free Press had almost 40, some media reported 45.5.
This whole situation is strange. You have someone say there will be bankruptsy, then you have people in the adminstration saying that is not the case. Then you have different deficit amounts. Does anyone know what is going on?
The number is probably between 45-50 thou once all is said and done, there are still some out there in case we lose too many. but i can't see that happening
Here's to the crazy ones, the rebels, the troublemakers, the ones who see things differently -- they're not fond of rules... You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can't do is ignore them.
Fred,
In Czarty-speak, the "It's MY way or the highway," is a valid management style.
You say your piece and walk out before any meaningful dialog is allowed to take place.
IOW, duh mayer has two defective genes the self-important gene paired with the narcissistic gene; a deadly pair indeed, as it tends to just piss people off.
Hooda Thunkit
Uh, hooda what are you talking about? I don't get the say your piece reference, sorry.

Fred, to sound like a grammartarian, I think Hooda was using an indefinite second person to describe the mayor's management style. The "you" was not you.
...receives them. For Wagner to make a big deal that the written proposals were made, and then not acted upon seems rather silly. Perhaps he read them, and analyzed the content while they were flying through the air. Oh well, the "professionals" of the TPPA are on the job.

Dan heard your interview with Fred Friday. WSPD has a history of anti union propaganda. Why do you think most unions refuse to talk with this station. Don't be fooled they are NOT your friend!

Good heads up wolfie. You might want to get a facebook account too since Dan and I are Facebook friends. When you say most unions are you referring to Local 7, 2058, TTPA, or someone who hasn't been on air yet.
The unions know how WSPD feels but they also know they will get a fair hearing when it comes to coverage. Maybe you should just write them an e-mail wolfie.

The unions know they get a fair hearing till WSPD is done using them! How come I don't hear any UAW union officials talking to WSPD since Mr. Wilson came on board? Come on Fred what's with that Toyota SUV delivering the petitions at Gov 1? Couldn't find a JEEP to deliver your poison?

Methinks Wolfman works for Cumulus Broadcasting.
Tom Schlachter owns the Toyota SUV. His car purchases are his own decision. To my knowledge, he did not consult Fred, Brian, Maggie, or Andy Stuart before purchasing this vehicle.
Two vehicles were used to deliver the petitions. The other was a Chrysler.
Also, WSPD was a participant in, not the planner of, TBT. Tom Schlachter is the leader of TBT.
Thank you for clearing up facts reported in the Toledo Blade story. No Wolfman does not work for Cumulus even though he listens to them quite often. He thinks Clear Channel would have thought he was employed by the Carleton Administration but not, sorry. He is someone who is outraged by this total waste of time and money exploited by your station to evict the current mayor who does not deserve all blame for what is wrong in Northwest Ohio. The lynch mob led by the frustrated underemployed home builder is an act of desperation. The Toledo economy will soon be tested by what has made it great MANUFACTURING (watch Deadline Now (April10th) WGTE) http://www.wgte.org/wgte/watch/index.asp?page_id=242. With area (country) residents not supporting domestic (local) middle class manufacturing these workers will NOT support the area businesses. You can carry pitchforks and torches but it comes down to good middle class jobs for the majority not the hysteria of the investment community scape goating one man. Does wolfman have all the answers no but he does have an opinion!

My station? Alas, I'm but a pawn in the game of politics. I'm just Dobby the House Elf, doing my duty. I don't own any radio stations.
An under-employed homebuilder? I guess that was supposed to be an insult to Tom. Tom doesn't read message boards, so your effort is wasted. He's never shown me his bankbook, but based on his commercial developments I've seen, he's pretty well employed.
Desperation? Oh yes. The more than 100 people who make up Take Back Toledo are desperate. Their desperate for municipal leadership that works instead of engaging in narcissistic ego-fulfilling solutions.
