Lucas County Democratic Party Out Of Touch With The Will Of The People

The Lucas County Democratic Party is out of touch with the will of the people. The recent endorsement of the three candidates for the Toledo Board of Education included the snubbing of Darlene Fisher the incumbent and previously endorsed candidate.

Although I don’t know much about Brenda Hill and Aji Green other than the fact that they have close ties to the root of the problems of TPS, namely the TFT, I have seen the go along to get along Bob Vasquez in action. When Mr. Vasquez was appointed he was perceived as occupying the Hispanic seat vacated by the flip flopper Robert Torres. The Hispanic community needs to ask for their seat back.

Darlene is the voice of the children, black, white, Hispanic, Asian, K-12. She has worked hard, taken abuse, provided direction during some of the most trying times. Still she held steady, never wavering in her support of all children.

I have learned a few things about Toledoans, they love their levies and their incompetent Toledo Public School Board members.

purnhrt,

it's always nice to read what you have to say. :) you hit the nail on the head once again. :)

and I must say this. Out of a new found admiration for Jack Ford, board member, I know board members can do the right thing when given the right information and having the moral fortitude to make a change.

But when you have the information, it is really hard for me to give credence to campaign promises, when it has been proven over and over again that when in bed with the union it is hard to get out.

Go Fisher!

Sure would like to see Chris make that third try!

And we ask why our young people want to leave Toledo. All the good people get demeaned or run out of town. I am apalled that Darlene did'nt get endorsed.

Aji Green, hmmm, we used to have a supervisor in bodyshop at Jeep North by that name. Wonder if it's the same person.

BTW, imho, he was an idiot.

and the same.

For those of you that believe this was an injustice and want to support an independent voice that has truly been working for the community, Darlene Fisher is having a fund raiser on April 14th.

  • Tuesday April 14, 2009
  • 6:30 p.m. till 9:30 p.m.
  • The Distillery - 4311 Heatherdowns Blvd. At the corner of Heatherdowns and Eastgate
  • Party in the downstairs room
  • Suggested Contribution: $20 Individual/$30 Couples

There will be food, drink and live entertainment.

Let me make a comment about how much of a non-politician Darlene really is. At the conclusion of her successful 2005 campaign for school board, she closed her PAC. She held no fund raisers during her entire term. At the end of March 2009 she filed the papers for her reelection PAC.

How many elected leaders have closed their PAC and not held regular fund raisers? From my perspective, she spent her time doing what we elected her to do and not out raising money to be funneled to other elected politico's campaign funds.

If you want to see how far this daisy chain of political contributions extends, go to the Board of Elections web site and look at campaign finance reports for local politicians.

So before you make a contribution to any candidate, see how much of your contribution ends up in some other candidate's coffers. Your contribution may be indirectly aiding a candidate that you don't support!
