BLATANT MEDIA ALERT! Wagner Confirms More Cops To Retire On WSPD

Dan Wagner of the TPPA says more officers will be leaving before Monday and many will wait to see what council does on Tuesday. Wagner says possibly 30-40 by Tuesday. He also regrets the support given to Finkbeiner when the mayor was running for reelection, but defends the choice based on Finkbeiner's opponent at the time, Ford.

Let's let the contract continue as is. Lay off everyone else but the police and firefighters. Let the next mayor deal with it. If Carty had any brains he'd leave this can of worms for the next fool who is elected mayor. These candidates for mayor will not handle another contract until the end of their term.

For some reason, I've got this image in my mind of a ship, and then some rats. Oh look, something bad just happened to the ship.

I find it ironic that TPPA Dan Wagner would be interviewed on WSPD. For the last few years WSPD has been the right-to-work beacon of Northwest Ohio. Now suddenly the Brian Wilson cabal is concerned about union employees! Rants by the WSPD three amigos about overpaid union workers with unaffordable pensions that the taxpayer can't afford because we are paying for theirs is a constant. Now a friend of labor...give me a break! Ask these community supporters what vehicles they drive and why? Brian will tell you he drives his new full size Toyota Truck so he doesn't have to support union slugs. Well this is the problem this is why Toledo is laying off city workers because to many do not support the local manufacturers I.E. Chrysler GM. How many of these city workers drive the nonunion foreign vehicles? If you buy and drive the nonunion vehicles you promote the nonunion wage scale.

...since they are behind much of the effort by TBT to get Carty to be recalled. They will interview anyone who will put the Mayor in a glaring spotlight of bad publicity. If Carty were to resign today these negotiations to lower the costs of the TPPA contract would still have to be completed. It will either be done by someone from city council, or a mayor voted in a special election. I applaud Carty for continuing to do the work that these braying asses cannot.

What will WSPD do when or if Carty is not around as mayor? The Clear Channel affiliate will need a new victim a local
pariah. This is the Clear Channel model for sucess who will this person be? Will the carpet bagging load mouth at WSPD go back from where he came from? The problems that Toledo is experiencing is not Toledo unique. One person is not the cause I pity for this next victim of the ratings motivated lynch mob radio station.

Kind of ironic - Wagner's finding out that when you toss your hat in with 'the lesser of two evils' you still end up with evil!!

He chose to endorse Carty because his alternative was Ford... OK, Ford was a joke and an embarrassment - true

Maybe he should have just taken the tack that the majority of Toledoans did - chosen "none of the above'.

Ive not missed an election since I moved here in 1989 - Ive voted on every issue and researched every single one of them, but Ive never cast a vote for the mayor, because in 20 years we havent had a choice worth voting for.

brdy and wolf posts are great examples of what is a recurring Toledo problem. If we choose to ignore the deficit, the layoffs, the causes and just blame the radio station it will all go away.
I doubt either is too concerned with what WSPD will talk about without the mayor around since we've done just fine covering other topics throughout the years including education, taxation, your rights, immigration, economic developement and a few others.
What amazes is that they both apparently listen to a station neither enjoys or believes, and to me that's really stupidity on display.
I do enjoy the posts though. They serve to highlight the aggressive ignorance Brian has suggested lives in this city.
I drive a Prius by the way. And the purchase of that car helped to support the famies, union and no union, of all the people who work at White Toyota a local company. When is the last time brdy or wolf purchased a new car to stimulate the economy? What brand are your electronics, and major appliances brdy and wolf?

...only used cars made by Chrysler or GM. That also supports the families of the employees of the used car lots that I frequented. I do not listen to your radio station. Occasionally, I listen to the podcasts your station posts. I am sure you do talk about other issues than the present mayor. There is a lot to be said against all the local unions. I do not ignore the local problems you list above. I just do not have any simplistic answer for them. I leave that to the "conservatives" and their Ptolemaic world view.

Prius Driving Talk Show Host.
FYI- 60 thousand active and retired UAW workers live in Northwest Ohio. You say by buying a mostly imported Prius that you support maybe 20 service workers at your local Toyota dealership. Do they have health care do they have a pension like say the UAW or TPPA... HELL NO! So why would you now become the friend of labor?
I listen to many AM stations why would that matter that I sometimes listen to yours? I've said this before but I believe half of your listeners are intelligent enough and do not buy what you are selling they know you say what you say to titillate your angry audience to stimulate the Pavloft dog pack then rake in the profits.
