Greg Rufty, President of the NWORA, will be on Thursday morning at 8:30 to discuss the letter sent by the group to members of city council. The letter takes the council to task over the possible loss of liquor license by Nick and Jimmy's. After 30 years a complaint about noise has put the restaurant/bar in jeopardy. Talk about business friendly!
Also Mike Bell at 7a.

I'll be sure to tune in, at 8:39 after weather, traffic, sports and commercials, for a minute of conversation before weather, traffic, sports and commercials, but I'll hang on for another minute of conversation before more weather, traffic and sports because I need to know if the weather will drastically change from 10 minutes to the next, and whether the previous night's sports final scores might have changed. Fred, just tell the whomever from N&J's to cut down the noise, get on to the next guest, and keep listeners alerted to changes in the weather and sports scores.

Jeremy you sound iike a former producer you know the show so well. The gentleman in question isn't from Nick and Jimmy's. He's the president of the restaurant association. We will cut out the sports from the 40 break if it help move the show along for you. Sports is only on the half hour now as it is so you must just be listening quite a bit, and I appreciate that. As you know TSL is important. Thanks for listening.
Here's to the crazy ones, the rebels, the troublemakers, the ones who see things differently -- they're not fond of rules... You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can't do is ignore them.
seriously?!
nick & jimmy's might lose their liquor license?!
it's one of the best longest lasting watering holes in all of T-town!
that would be a MASSIVE bummer for the city.
After THIRTY years of no complaint, ONE neighbor (who just moved in) files a noise complaint, and our business friendly council is actually considering pulling their liquor license and putting X number of people out of a job.
Perhaps the person who just moved in might've been wiser to think about the fact that they're moving in next to a BAR???
buyer beware!
i can't imagine them being very loud anyways.. as most of their noise would be blasting out towards monroe street.
when I wrote about the issue last year.

Soon anyone who hears any noise from any enterprise will be empowered to bitch about it and petition to have the offending enterprise closed down. It's downright awful.
On a related note, I once worked at the Lighthouse on Broadway and we had police from Rossford come over and complain about the noise from the deck. It was bothering the river folk over in Wood County. The cop told us that these same people complain about the noise the beasts make at the 4:00 feedings at the zoo every morning. Soon we'll be feeding the critters intraveneously.
