WOOD COUNTY, OH - Felony charges against a Tennessee man accused of stabbing Toledo radio personality Troy Neff during a road rage incident in December have been dropped.
Last week the case against Jeffrey T. Hardeman, 42, was dismissed after the Wood County grand jury failed to return formal indictment against the Knoxville, Tenn., man.
Hardeman was arrested in Dec. 10 on charges of felonious assault and tampering with evidence after stabbing Neff in Perrysburg Township. The tampering charge stemmed from Hardeman's alleged attempted concealment of the knife used in the incident. He faced prison if convicted and had made an initial appearance in Perrysburg Municipal Court after his arrest. The case was bound over to Wood County Common Pleas Court because the charges were felony level. Hardeman was released on bond shortly after his arrest. He had been in Northwest Ohio for work in December when the incident with Neff occurred. He was staying at a hotel not far from Neff's financial business in the township.

If I ever stab a local talk radio personality, and believe me--I've thought about it, I'm calling Scott Ciolek to represent me.
Remember when the idiot commented on this road rage case.
What an ass!
Not taking away from Mr Ciolek's skills as a barrister, but his client WAS the one who was attacked after all...
Nerf just made the mistake of thinking he got to both pick the fight AND make the call that it was bare knuckles instead of pig stickers...
Troy was lucky he didn't get shot over this one.
I think it's worth noting that even though all charges against Jeffrey Hardeman are dropped, he still spent time in jail, and in hindsight it should have been Troy Neff cooling his heels in the slammer.

Has anyone ever been at that entrance/exit? There by the french quarter??
IT'S HOSED UP!!!
So here this guy from tennessee, probably never been there before was trying to figure it out and did it wrong. He was probably pissed off about it already, and here comes some asshole driving up at him and flipping him the bird... He figures 'yeah, yeah, and flipps him back...
So then the asshole follows him and jumps out of his car, tossing his watch in the grass looking for a fight? Nerf's not a small guy - hell, if someone wouldda done that to me, I'd have hit him with anything I had at hand. you're damn right he's lucky he wasnt shot right there!!
Hopefully Nerf learned that the first rule in street fighting is - THERE AINT NO FUCKING RULES!!!
you have it right TEN FOLD
Let's all pray for our good friend Troy that he receives the help and guidance he needs as he fights to overcome his demons. I watched Denny overcome his a few years back and only wish the same success to Troy. Although his license plate says "okay to envy me", I think he would rather we pray for him now.
Here's to the crazy ones, the rebels, the troublemakers, the ones who see things differently -- they're not fond of rules... You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can't do is ignore them.
I'll second that and well stated, Fred.
classy comment. Now work with your boss on learning how to let by-gones be by-gones.
Fred you are so right and righteous on this.
Troy was always so caring, giving and kind in his comments about you and your show and, dare I say, me and WSPD. We can only wish him the very best and a speedy "recovery" - if that's the appropriate term for someone so tormented and beseiged.
I am sure we are all eagerly anticipating his promised triumphant return to the Toledo airwaves where he will once again amaze and enthrall his listener with his dazzling wit and wisdumb.
