If you did not see the Michael Miller story on Take Back Toledo, take a look at it:

Brian Wilson responds with his own call to arms:

now. Finks is gone soon. Wilson's rant is true but the rancor is over the top and drives many away.

Congrats.
Good post Jeremy
Here's to the crazy ones, the rebels, the troublemakers, the ones who see things differently -- they're not fond of rules... You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can't do is ignore them.
Just because you read it, doesn't mean it is true.
I trust Miller's numbers, but this is also commentary...and Miller--not unlike Fred, Brian, and Maggie--has a talent for seeing and presenting things in his own unique perspective....which helps sell advertising.
This is just the way he sees it...
Really? Drives WHOM away?
Those still "on the fence" about Finkbeiner? Those sooo open-minded they may be pursuaded by facts and logic that Finkbeiner is the Scourge on Toledo?
Enjoy your time in Never Never Land.
You have elected as "mayor" a psychologically dysfunctional megalomaniac with a penchant for tyranny. He has all but destroyed Toledo's economic viability and has a strong reputation for physically and verbally abusing both spouse and employees -- and my alleged "rancor is over the top"? Riiight.
Maybe you can conjure a Kinder-Gentler way to express that reality.
Chalk it up to incredulity that a goup of people old enough to vote would not only put such a blithering lunatic in office again and again -- but feign offense at those who have the audacity to call him out in such simple terms those who voted for him might even comprehend.
Indeed, you have the government you so richly deserved.
(Ya know, you really should see someone about your Stockholm Syndrom.)

"Where Toledo comes to talk"
I have a theory. Perhaps your childish insults and pompous attitude drive away sensible people who would like to replace Carty, but not with someone endorsed by the likes of you.
Chalk it up to incredulity that you, with your limited intellect and communication abilities, are in an occupation where you talk for a living. Only in America!
Maybe you should consider going back to Washington where someone like you would be more appreciated. Or maybe Clear Channel will make the decision for you soon enough.
P.S. Wipe the spittle off of your chin and use spell check next time big guy.
Radio types, at least those at a certain local station, have no need or interest in spelling accuracy, but nevertheless I enjoyed reading about your 'theory.'
Is Carty's threat of laying off policemen just another temper trantrum because city council voted no on his tax credit reduction proposal?
Now, Carty has shifted the blame to city council for the city's financial crisis by voting no on the proposed tax credit reduction. The tax credit reduction would have reduced tax credits for individuals that lived in the city but were employed outside of the city limits.
According to Mayor Carty the public should pay equally for police and fire protection. However, the city council's vote put a damper on that. The only option left, for the city now, is to layoff policemen or raise the fee for garbage pickup.
Furthermore, Mayor Carty stated that even though the City of Toledo will receive a 1.2 million dollar stimulis package for the police department, the amount isn't enough because of the city's financial problems, and laying off police officers is not an option.
Mayor Carty needs to answer some questions. First of all, the City of Toledo has 6.4 million dollars in the rainy day fund. "Why can't some of the much needed money be drawn from this fund?
Mayor Carty, wouldn't the reduction in the police force, or another raise in the garbage fee drive people away from Toledo? As of now, Toledo has 1,974 homes listed for sale, and in December 2008, the unemployment rate was 10.7 percent? How many more will move, and how many will avoid Toledo because of inadequate police protection and more taxes or fees?
Mayor Carty how much of your spending for frivoulous items, such as the shower in your offce, and the new Civic Center eat into the city's budget. ? Carty, why not shower at home? Furthermore Carty, did we really need a Civic Center for entertainment? With the economy the way it is, "Who can afford the price of tickets?"
Last of all, "Is it really necessary to beautify downtown Toledo by planting flowers?" After all, Nero played his fiddle while Rome burned and Carty plants flowers as the city falls into chaos.
