Marcy Kaptur home this weekend, should she be?

Stopped at Sofo Foods on Monroe St. this evening, and as we got to the register, the wife says to me "I think that was Marcy Kaptur two people in front of us". Lucky for Marcy, I wasn't paying attention, but sure enough, I see a Ford Five Hundred sedan with the plate MCK 9 backing out of a parking space.

I wish I'd realized it was her. I doubt she gets to talk very often with an actual constituent who hadn't been cleared by her staff. I would have loved to share my opinion on the "Porkulus" bill, though I doubt it would change her mind.

But I'm torn. With everything going on in DC right now, should she have been home? On one hand, I think yes especially if she had town hall meetings (hadn't heard of any), and in reality, if she's home, it's hard to cause harm. But..... If things are as bad as our new president wants us to beleive, perhaps she should have stayed in DC? I'm just sayin'.....

Rather than talking about the stimulus, you could have made a better impression if you had just sat on the hood of her car (which taxpayers paid for)

When she asked you to get off her car, you could have just said, "Squatter rights"--then she may have gotten the point loud and clear.

"Rather than talking about the stimulus, you could have made a better impression if you had just sat on the hood of her car (which taxpayers paid for)"

While House members CAN lease cars that are paid for by taxpayers, Rep Kaptur does NOT appear to do so.

34% of Republican House members lease cars paid for by taxpayers

28% of Democratic House members lease cars paid for by taxpayers

Pink Slip

Number of House members who SHOULD lease cars paid for by taxpayers: 0 %

home for Marcy is where she will live after she isn't the rep from the ninth district. I'll bet she doesn't live in toledo anymore than metzenbaum lived in ohio after they stop helping us

I would submit that everything Ms. Kaptur buys is paid for by tax payers, unless she has some form of outside income. Her salary is tax based. Her retirement fund is tax based. Her housing/office allowance in DC is tax based. Her health care plan is tax based. Everything she has gained through her political career is from tax payers. I only wish everyone in public office could/would understand that.

Well, 2BN, now Kaptur is angling for houses to be taxpayer-paid, too. At least it's a consistent message.

And I wouldn't sit on her car to make a point. The squatting she advocates won't have to be subject to an outright police attack at the behest of an enraged politician. You understand? SWAT might show up and "accidentally" shoot you. Sure, they'll be sorry about that, but you'll still be DEAD.

You can't "address" these politicians directly. You have to do it indirectly. They have to wake up one fine morning and find themselves out of power. That's the only way to survive the rapid-response paramilitaries that politicians command.
