Toledo is bigger than Pittsburgh? - bollocks

Now that Toledo is bigger than Pittsburgh, maybe the Steelers should move here being we now have a larger population to draw viewers. They can take the Bullfrogs. Or this means that bump in population is a bunch of you know what?

PITTSBURGH -- Toledo just got a little bigger, and Pittsburgh just got bumped down the population list.

The U.S. Census Bureau has changed Toledo's population estimate for Ohio's fourth-largest city, putting the city's count at 316,000 people. Pittsburgh totals stand at 311,218.

Actually I believe Toledo is bigger than Jacksonville as well and they too have an NFL team.

In fact if memory serves the biggest city in the US without one of the big 4 sports teams is Albequerque, NM.

It's not only the size of the population but location plays a part as well. Being that Toledo is situated between Detroit and Cleveland, by rule, there are not enough miles separating the cities to warrant another professional team here. There are exceptions such as New York and Chicago but those population bases are so large that they can support two or more teams.

Being from Pittsburgh, I have to respond to this. I find it very hard to believe Toledo has more residents from Pittsburgh.

However I don’t blame the Mayor for wanting a recount. The city of Toledo needs all the money that it can get right now. I just wonder what the Mayor will do with the money? How many flowers can you plant? How many $9,999 showers can you install in your office?

I do believe however that if Mayor Ravenstahl challenged the census count for Pittsburgh, there numbers would go up as well.

In addition, if the numbers are in fact correct. Than Mayor Finkbeiner should be ashamed of himself. If you compare Pittsburgh to Toledo, Pittsburgh has so much going on that Toledo does not.

From the all the waterfront businesses, amusement park (Kennywood), waterpark (Sandcastle), nightlife downtown, UPMC Medical Center, Univ. of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Mellon Univ., 2 new stadiums, not to mention the major league sports teams, Penguins, Pirates, and Steelers.

Now despite the recent shootings in Toledo, it is still alot safer in Toledo than it is in Pittsburgh. There are alot of shootings and murders in Pittsburgh.

While we are on the subject of Pittsburgh…GO STEELERS! They will beat the Ravens, and advance to the SUPERBOWL!!!!!!!

Also the mayor even changed his name to Mayor Luke STEELERstahl!

Pittsburgh has a metropolitan region of over 2.3 million people inlcuding its suburbs, far dwarfing the 600,000 or so residents in Toledo metro.

Also, Pittsburgh metro is one of the few areas in the Rust Belt boasting low unemployment in 2008, and even in November unemployment in the Pittsburgh region only reached 5.8%.

..."allowing us to grow our sworn authorization from 900 to 917 and has also obtained a grant from the State that helps us to maintain a fully staffed Bureau for the first time in recent history. The result has been a period in which we have been able to grow our on-hand strength to 892 to help the Bureau meet the needs of our communities."

If ''CON' is the opposite of 'PRO', does that mean Congress is the opposite of Progress?

Census Bureau has a problem.

They may have opened up a can of worms.
