Neff Charged In Road Rage Incident

According to the Toledo Blade this afternoon: Former radio personality Troy Neff has been charged with assault for his part in a road-rage incident earlier this month.
Mr. Neff, 40, of Curtice, faces up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine if convicted of the first-degree misdemeanor, which was filed Monday in Perrysburg Municipal Court.
The case is set for arraignment Jan. 2.
Mr. Neff was stabbed in the shoulder, arm, and hand during the road-rage fight that occurred in Perrysburg Township.
Jeffrey Hardeman, 42, of Knoxville, Tenn., has been charged with felonious assault and tampering with evidence. His case will be bound over to the Wood County grand jury.
Mr. Neff and Mr. Hardeman got into a fight after Mr. Hardeman cut off Mr. Neff about 6:15 p.m. Dec. 10 on Holiday Lane, near Mr. Neff’s financial business, Advanced Retirement Solution.
Words were exchanged, the men got out of their vehicles, and fought.

Not a good way to start the new year, or to garner publicity for a business. It will be interesting to see how the media that drooled over this the first time reacts now, including local bloggers who had theories on everything from lawyer choices on.
On a more positive note though Merry Christmas to all.

Since you write posts here, and you just focused on Troy, doesn't that make you a blogger who's focusing on Troy too?

:-)

Neff was charged with a misdemeanor, Hardeman was charged with a felony and will most likely go before a grand jury.

Considering your years of media experience, even related to stories that you don't think are news worthy, I'm sure you know very well what happens. People focus on the initial story, it becomes "the talked" about story, well on the places that cover it anyway, and then people's attention turns to other things. It's why that whole "15 minutes of fame" thing exists.

We don't remember days only moments...

I've got $1 that says he will NOT go before a Grand Jury.

I've got $2 that says if he does, he won't be indicted.

I think there is a good possibility this will go before a Grand Jury, if it does, he probably will be indicted. There's that old saying about a Grand Jury could indict a ham sandwich that comes to mind....

Will Hardeman end up being convicted of felony charges is a whole different scenario, probably not, most times these things are pled down.

So, I'll take the bet GG.

If that's what you want to think Lisa, sure. I won't argue with you.
Here's to the crazy ones, the rebels, the troublemakers, the ones who see things differently -- they're not fond of rules... You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can't do is ignore them.

You are writing posts on a site that has been called a blog, so I was curious as to how you saw yourself.

As to the "15 minutes of fame" theory, I don't think there's much to disagree, on it happens frequently.

I was told once that merely getting out of your car under those circumstances is considered "assult" Maybe that's just Michigan though

Could this guy find more, new, and interesting ways to become a bigger douche bag?

I think the smart money is on yes. He's like J. R. Block. He thinks he can act any way he wants without any repercussions for his actions.

At least it stopped him from posting his lame threads. Can someone please get into a road rage incident with David Ben-Ariel and Nate Chan now?

HA!

how in the Blade article...Troy's lawyer stated that he didn't know the specifics of the case...but he knows Troy is the victim. How can you not know the specifics but come to the conclusion of his being a victim? Typical squirmy lawyer.

man

talk about someone in the limelight dropping off the face of the earth.

even his page was heavily edited and everything about his case removed.

wow lol.

Probably removed/edited  on the advise of his attorney. Yet again, his bragadoccio and  pretentiousness stepped in where he brain should have been.

If more criminals were like him - bragging about his crime - there'd be less need for courts and juries!
