the autofill?

it kicks us over to Windows mail which must be the default email. Windows mail isn't set up and Ern doesn't know his ISP password to set it up , so we thought to change the default email would be easy solution

So

do you want your e-mail program to launch yahoo instead of Windows Mail? I don't think it can do that. You may be able to set Thunderbird up to check yahoo mail. Is this is what you are looking for?

If you are trying to set up your Outlook or Outlook Express to receive your Yahoo email you will have to subscribe to the Mail Plus account with Yahoo which will cost you $19.99 a year. Then you could download your emails into Outlook™ or other desktop email applications with POP access. After setting up the POP forwarding in Outlook or Outlook Express, you then set Outlook as your default mail program in Explorer under the Tools/Internet Options/Programs tab. This will allow Outlook to open every time you click on the mail icon from the Explorer Tool bar or click on an email link from a web page which in turn should automatically download your Yahoo email into Outlook. Otherwise you will only be able to access your Yahoo through Web mail.

Does this help or confuse the issue?

we are just trying to log onto craigslist. When we tried that , craigs' couldn't verify his windows mail (vista). Ernie doesnt' know his isp password to set up the windows mail. So we thought to make his Yahoo mail address as his primary email . Then craigs' may let him log on.

OIC

Well, I just created a new account with Craigs List using my Yahoo Email account and it allowed me to log right in. Maybe Ernie just needs to create a new account too.
