Karen, a Democrat, is back in the news. She admits to taking 625K from clients. I feel sorry for her, I just had to put the party affiliation because the Blade loves to bury this (although in this article they do mention it about 80% of the way through the text) :)

are, abortion and theft!! Kill the innocent, steal from the productive! The screamers and poofs, elect complete idiots, without any background checks. And now, we have a Prez., whose friends and associates ,makes K. McConnels, family and friends look GREAT!!!! My Lord, the DEVIL , hisself, would get elected in any American city,as long as he ran as a DIM! The vote would be 70% to 30%,typical of any American city....all the stupid voter would do, is to check the Toledo Blades',endorsements and...RIGHT THERE, next to the DEVILS name ,there would be a D...and dimwits, would absolutely ,vote him IN!!! My money is so bloody wasted by you jackasses, I should just use it to start the fireplace , I would get better enjoyment out of it,BIG TIME! McConnel, has already been offered a job in the new adm. office. She'll spend NO time in the pokey, and will no doubt,be our next ambasador to KENYA!
After all, William Jefferson is under indictment for corruption charges and has been RE-ELECTED. Looks like the way to be a "good Democrat" is to steal.
"In May 2006, the FBI raided his Congressional offices, but he was re-elected later that year. On June 4, 2007, a federal grand jury indicted Jefferson on 16 charges related to corruption.[2] On October 4, 2008, Jefferson finished first in the Democratic primary and won in a run-off against Helena Moreno on November 4, 2008."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_J._Jefferson
Ted Stevens (R-Alaska) isn't under indictment anymore, he was convicted, of 7 felony charges before the election, and in a close race is leading for re-election in the Senate. I mean, the fact that it's even close is an embarrassment of epic proportions. Corruption doesn't know party lines, and neither party is virtuous. Any attempt to build a case about one party's ethical superiority would trigger a mountain load of evidence to the contrary.
it seems alot of ninny's out there will whine about you if,1) they have no answers, they correct spelling errors,2) if they have no answers, they point out sentence structure problems,3) if they have no answers, they call you names,BOO HOO,40) if they have no answers, they tell you ,your meds. are off, 5) if they have no answers, they crybaby ,to you,SO, PLEASE, SPELL COUNCIL FOR ME!
is another Dim., who, unlike R's,( who get run out),still has his committe chair. Not only do you thieves steal my money...you bribe me with 'stimulus checks' ,which , of course, IS MY MONEY!! And , I await, BRILLIANCE, from Dim bloggers here, who will rationalize ,why their core convictions are ALWAYS immorale, illegal, sinfull, OR ,ALL THREE!!!!!!!
Sen. Ted Stevens, convicted of seven felony counts of failing to report more than $250,000 in gifts, mostly renovations on his home. Is this not stealing and is he not a Republican?
And what about all of this money spent for clothes for Governor Palin that now no one knows where they are.
A thief is a thief, doesn't matter the race, the gender or the political affiliation.
Palin is a thief? Oh please illuminate me with your logic and provide some links stating that.
No, she's not a thief, she's a wealth-spreading librul diva.
http://www.newyorker.com/talk/comment/2008/11/03/081103taco_talk_hertzberg
The Palin thing is a real non-issue.
Purnrt now wants to dictate how the Republican Party spends its money. You got to join first, Twila, then you can complain about how the money was spent. Otherwise, it's none of your business.
exascuuse me but you don't know me well enough to call me Twila. I submit as purnhrt. I know that your former boss and I have had our issues but why do you come at me the way that you do? Is this a hold over?
I could care less how the Republicans spend their money but the clothes issue and the Palin issue are now non issues but a mere week ago they were a big issue. I don't have to join the Republican party to complain, First Amendment Right, right?
Since you don't care how the Republicans spend their money, why are you eluding to Palin being a thief? You can say anything you want under the First Amendment; but you'd better have the documentation to back up what you are stating. Where is your proof that she is a thief?
Still waiting...
I'm still waiting on the documentation that Iraq has weapons of mass destruction...
Here is the documentation that Iraq has weapons of mass desctruction.
http://www.cnn.com/US/9812/16/clinton.iraq.speech/
"Earlier today I ordered America's armed forces to strike military and security targets in Iraq. They are joined by British forces...Their mission is to attack Iraq's nuclear, chemical and biological weapons programs and its military capacity to threaten its neighbors," said Clinton. "
And if you didn't believe Bubba Clinton, like I didn't, would you believe this? From the United Nations Website in an address to the United Nations Security Council by Hans Blix one month before the war started.
http://www.un.org/News/Press/docs/2003/sc7644.doc.htm
"On the so-called “Air Force document”, found by an UNSCOM inspector in a safe in Iraqi Air Force Headquarters in 1998 and providing an account of the expenditures of bombs, including chemical bombs, by Iraq in the Iraq-Iran war, he was encouraged by the fact that Iraq had now provided that document to UNMOVIC. The document indicated that 13,000 chemical bombs were dropped by the Iraqi Air Force between 1983 and 1988, while Iraq had declared that 19,500 bombs were consumed during that period. Thus, there was a discrepancy on the order of about 1,000 tonnes. In the absence of evidence to the contrary, he must assume that those quantities were now unaccounted for.
Regarding the discovery of a number of 122 millimetre chemical rocket warheads in a bunker at a storage depot south-west of Baghdad, he said that that was a relatively new bunker and, therefore, the rockets must have been moved there in the past few years, at a time when Iraq should not have had such munitions. The investigation of those rockets was still proceeding. Their discovery did not resolve, but rather pointed to the issue of several thousands of chemical rockets that were unaccounted for. Their finding showed that Iraq needed to make more effort to ensure that its declaration was currently accurate. Inspectors had also found, at another site, a laboratory quantity of thiodiglycol, a mustard gas precursor."
Purnhrt, what do you expect, he comes from the Carty administration. The same administration that led a pre-meditated political kill alongside that no longer relevant pointdexter Block, in highlighting Jim Hartung's affair. The old political guard have a habit of calling people out as intimidation.
[Edit]
In case you don't happen to know what a pointdexter looks like:
John Robinson Blockade
Yes, but I worked for Jim Hartung for six years. I still count him among my close friends. Are trying to imply that I was complicit in what happened to him. If so, you are ill-informed.
I didn't imply a thing my good sir. I simply stated the old guards weaponry of trying to publicly smear an individual to silence them or discredit them, leading by example the has-to-be-a-virgin pointdexter John Robinson Blockhead.
I can't remember the details, but wasn't it you that ran down the steps of one government center with the public records of an individual the city was embroiled in a lawsuit with? I can't keep up with the daily Toledo shenanigans that occur by the hour.
I believe it's actually spelled "Poindexter."
I'm too out of shape to run down the steps of Government Center. I rode the elevator. Nothing in that file but the facts, all of which are public record.
about "First Amendment Rights", Twyla.
Seems he has his own interpretation of what the First Amendment to the Constitution is.
"but you don't know me well enough to call me Twila. "...
"First Amendment Right, right?"
Twilla, only an idiot would suggest limiting someone's speech while quoting the amendment that gives us free speech.
For the record I both added an extra L and called you an idiot in an exercise of my First Amendment Right, right?
MikeyA
I didn't know you and Carty had issues. You never came up in any of my conversations with him.
The clothes were a big issue for people with small minds. Not anybody else.
And please, feel free to call me Brian.
Now, that is what I call illumination! Is that illumination enough?
Although [23] victims were identified, McConnell Hancock faces only one theft charge because state law requires that the charges be lumped together. Authorities said because the series of theft offenses occurred under similar circumstances they are considered a "continuous course of conduct."
I betcha anything that if you or I had been caught up in that, we'd be hit with 23 charges, as suitably changed charges that allowed them to rack up the number. This is just another example of the system acting to protect its own.
It was wonderful for the Blockade newspaper to start out saying:
"Former attorney Karyn McConnell Hancock [....]"
... which could have easily and more honestly be worded like so:
"Former attorney and city councilman Karyn McConnell Hancock [....]"
So the Blockade is ALSO protecting her.
Let's continue analyzing this farce:
"Throughout the investigation, McConnell Hancock cooperated with authorities by allowing investigators to comb through her files, her attorney Jerry Phillips said."
So what? You cannot legally withhold such things through the process of discovery.
"[Jerry Phillips] added that the amount stolen from the various clients is higher than the actual loss because in some cases, McConnell Hancock paid back portions of what was taken."
So what? It's still felonious theft.
It's good that despite all the attempts to shield her from the consequences, she's heading for jail as any high-volume thief should. I work for my fucking money. McConnell-Hancock obviously stole hers ... in fact, she managed to steal about as much money that I'd make over most of my working life. Let that bitch stew in prison for this outrage.
14 comments before GZ (and thank you GZ) makes one comment on subject?
And as far as GZ's comment I betcha anything that if you or I had been caught up in that, we'd be hit with 23 charges, as suitably changed charges that allowed them to rack up the number. This is just another example of the system acting to protect its own.
Spot on. Who wants to bet that her jail term (if any) will be measured in months, and not years? And after she gets out she'll go right back to doing what she did before? Like GZ eluded to - if you are willing to totally submit to your lord JWB, you are therefore forgiven the sins and laws applicable to the common man...
I wonder if her husband will step down, per 1Timothy 3:11 "In the same way, their wives are to be women worthy of respect, not malicious talkers but temperate and trustworthy in everything."
The thinking behind this reasoning is that if a man cant care for his own, how could he properly care for a larger flock?
Has this type thing happened in other churches? Yes - not so often with the spouses of the leaders, but you see it more with their children. Do the leaders generally step down until they can take care of their families and get them right again? Yes they do.
You're welcome. 8^)
It's pathetically stupid that we accept that she used her professional position (and as a court official, as every acting lawyer is) to steal from 23 separate and disconnected individuals. Yet there is only one count of theft. This is monstrous. The prosecution is effectively claiming that the only important fact of her pattern of abuse is herself.
It's exactly the same as if I had robbed 23 separate and disconnected individuals on the street, in my professional capacity as a robber, yet only receive ONE charge as a result. Obviously that would never happen ... since I'm not a prior Councilman, not a lawyer, and not closely related to a member of the judiciary.
Notice also that she resigned from being a lawyer. We should follow up on this, since she should be DISBARRED. I'm suspecting that the resignation will remain recorded, and the disbarment will not occur. Hence I smell a set-up, where she pops out of jail (measured in months, not years, as you suspect) and slips back onto the bar, since a resignation is much, much easier to get over than a disbarment.
Should I write the Ohio Bar Association to inquire about her disbarment?
Googling only shows her resignation, not a disbarment. Is it possible to disbar a resigned lawyer?
if history has taught us anything, it is that ANYTHING is possible in life.
ABRA-CADABRA !
Look for more magic in this case.
Your comments used to be insightful, but lately, .....
I think your state of unemployment is getting to you, sir.
From the WTOL article:
And even though the former attorney could serve up to eight years, this visiting judge says she's also eligible for just probation when sentenced in the new year.
How anyone can defend her from serving any jail time for stealing 620k is beyond comprehension!
- Just the KAT, thinking out loud again.

Summit County Ohio Jail Mugshot of James Traficant, Aug. 1, 2002
"In 2002, Traficant was indicted on federal corruption charges for taking campaign funds for personal use. Again, he opted to represent himself, insisting that the trial was part of a vendetta against him dating to his 1983 trial. On April 15, he was convicted of 10 felony counts including bribery, racketeering, and tax evasion. The House Ethics Committee recommended that he be expelled from the House, and on July 24 the House voted 420-1 to expel him. Gary Condit was the lone "no" vote and there were nine members who voted "present." Traficant was the first representative to be expelled since Michael Myers's expulsion in 1980 as a result of the Abscam scandal.
After his expulsion, Traficant ran as an independent candidate for another term in the House while incarcerated in a federal prison in White Deer, Pennsylvania. He received 15 percent of the vote (27,487 votes) and became one of only a handful of individuals in the history of the United States to run for a federal office from prison. The election was won by one of his former aides, Tim Ryan.
In March 2004, the Federal Bureau of Prisons moved Traficant to the Federal Correctional Institution, Ray Brook. As of July 2007, the Federal Bureau of Prisons listed Traficant at the Federal Medical Center, Rochester, an administrative facility providing specialized mental health services. Traficant has taken up artwork while in prison."

Whatever happened to Marc Dann?

I would certainly hope that my name did not come up in any conversation that you had with the mayor, but I am sure that the organizations that my name is associated with came up in conversations. I am also quite sure that you knew that these organizations and individuals had issues with the mayor.
Since Brian is the name that you submit under what else would I call you? As stated, I submit under the name Purnhrt not Twila. And don't feel free to use Twila on Swampbubbles, now if you see me out and about and you know for sure it is me, feel free to call me Twila.
As far as the "clothes" being an issue for people with small minds, Ms. Palin and her dad must be included as they are keeping the clothes issue going with their stupid statements, such as Sarah is frantically going through her closet to see what belongs to her. Huh? You don't know what belongs to you that is in your closet?
I see with dad's statements, that the apple does not fall far from the tree.
Just call her R.C., that is how we know her best.
It's 10:18 am. Shouldn't you be teaching some kids right about now? No wonder our public schools are in disarray.
don't let tpsteacher24 actually be a teacher.
