Standing tall at Fallen Timbers

It opened last October just as the economy was slowing to a crawl with home sales tanking, foreclosures surging, and customers curtailing spending.

But as the Shops at Fallen Timbers mall in Maumee passed the one-year mark earlier this month, it has managed to cling to all but one of its original stores and most tenants remain optimistic about prospects for the 1-million-square foot outdoor center.

Located off U.S. 24, just west of U.S.23/I-475 in southwest Lucas County, Fallen Timbers, with its faux-village setting, has had a mixed year.
