LISTEN to Barak Obama as he talks about the MISTAKES the founding fathers made, the proper way to "Spread The Wealth", and why he wants to be President.
I recommend that you listen to and try and represent the whole show and what was said, not just this edited, nearly-slanderous You Tube clip. Sen. Obama is one of three legal scholars talking about a number of historical perspectives on the constitution, civil rights, shift of judicial paradigm (to a more interventionist court), etc. This clip re-edits small snippets of the conversation to create an entirely different context.
And you use socialism quite often when referring to Sen. Obama's policies. Would you say McCain is also Socialist? Why or why not? It is unclear what YOU mean by socialism.
From Ben Calhoun, of Chicago Public Radio: In 2001, Chicago Public Radio interviewed then Illinois State Senator Barack Obama about civil rights. Over the weekend, someone posted excerpts of the interview, edited to misrepresent Obama's statements. The item is now catching national attention.
The twist here is that, when heard in the context of the whole show, Obama’s position is distinctly misrepresented by the You Tube posting. Taken in context, Obama is evaluating the historical successes and failures of the Civil Rights movement—and, ironically, he says the Supreme Court was a failure in cases that it took on a role of redistributing resources.
I've already heard enough of Obama Rama Ding Dong's rap. The only thing Obama has going for him is the fact that he, Obama, might do less harm to the United States than his running mate, good old fascist Joe, a direct descendant of the famous Tailgunner Joe that saved us all from Communism.
I'm voting McCain. I don't like McCain, but he's just a little better than Obama.
It seems that the basis of McCain's campaign is nothing more than attacks against Obama.
In addition, McCain has talked to the soccer mom, he has talked to Joe "the plumber," he has talked to the rich, he has talked to the ceo's of wallstreet...
but he has yet to walk down main street, or talk to the "common" people who struggle from day to day because of the decisions made by the Bush administration. Oh, that's right...he agrees with those decisions made by the Bush administration.
Your error is in thinking that Obama will in any way change the structure and policies of the Executive Branch such that prosperity can return to the working class. The government must be downsized -- in comparison to today's size -- to a remarkable degree. Those who earn or invest money must be free to do with it as they please. Securities laws must be enforced. The bailouts (i.e. rape of the taxpayers) must stop.
Obama isn't going to do any of that. He's going to add ruinously expensive social programs on top of the ruined budget of the federal government. You can't add war spending on top of tax cuts without inviting economic collapse. On top of that, you can't THEN add massive social programs, since the collapse will only be made more acute.
Face facts: Ron Paul and other fiscal conservatives were the only sane choices in this election. Obama isn't. McCain isn't. Both of those latter, "major" choices are going to sink the nation but good, from the top to the bottom.
If ''CON' is the opposite of 'PRO', does that mean Congress is the opposite of Progress?
Libs-

This sounds an awful lot like reparations for slavery to me.

So with that being said...I am voting for OBAMA.
Yes we can! Yes we will!
