City workers caught on tape stealing have been fired

UPDATE: News 11 had the pictures. Now two Toledo city workers have been fired after they were caught stealing siding from a vacant home.

The city employees are Charles Weidinger and Issiah Scott. Weidinger is a former city worker who left following an accident.

Mayor Carty Finkbeiner saw our exclusive photos Wednesday night on News 11. "He was dismissed," Finkbeiner says, "and there's not any excuse for him being brought back. Shame on the temporary agency that recommended he be hired."

people getting the opportunity of a free trip into employment with The City would be more appreciative and grateful.

Wonderful.

We need more people to do as she did, we are the eyes and ears of our city.

So what? Two city workers got caught stealing and have to deal with the consequences.

Stealing is stealing but let let's keep the various forms of thievery in the proper perspective.

Here's a list of other kinds of thievery that usually is met with apathy, a blind eye, or a deaf ear:

1. Gov't stealing business such as private ambulance companies.
2. Gov't's misuse of the original and legitimate intent of emiment domain.
3. Gov't's social programs funded by taxpayers such as food stamps, welfare, subsidized housing. Some people couldn't live without these programs, but what about those who could get along without it but won't?
4. The on-going situation of "robbing Peter to pay Paul" in order to fund some gov't offical's pet projects instead of basic needs and services. Flowers reduce crime so police are unnecessary.
5. The making up of arbitary offensives by which they impose and extract money from citizens in the way of fines, fees, and penalties.

when their union rep trys to get them back their jobs.
