120-employee Kmart to close in Defiance

DEFIANCE — A Kmart store at 190 Stadium Dr. in Defiance is to close this fall, taking with it the jobs of 120 workers.

Having been employed as a tech who performed service in Kmart's as well as the other big box stores, the closure comes as no surprise, although I thought it would been sooner than this.

Are the Toledo stores far behind?

I got first dibs on the blue light

Based on the number of customer cars I see in the parking lot I believe the EOL for the Southwyck K-Mart is on radar. If Southwyck is converted into a thriving Villages of Southwyck, the real estate value of this store may be worth more to Sears and Roebuck then sales profits. Time to sell!

Kmart bought Sears.

The store on Manhattan is looking pretty close to the end.

Putting out any type of merchandise to make the store look full, is one sure sign.

Me and my dad attended a grand opening of a Kresge, in Connecticut, once a long time ago.

You're right.
I stand corrected.
