Why Is Bush Helping Saudi Arabia Build Nukes?

Holy shit. What do you give a country where 15 out of 19 WTC hijackers came from? Nukes, of course!

Here's a quick geopolitical quiz: What country is three times the size of Texas and has more than 300 days of blazing sun a year? What country has the world's largest oil reserves resting below miles upon miles of sand? And what country is being given nuclear power, not solar, by President George W. Bush, even when the mere assumption of nuclear possession in its region has been known to provoke pre-emptive air strikes, even wars?

If you answered Saudi Arabia to all of these questions, you're right.

Last month, while the American people were becoming the personal ATMs of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice was in Saudi Arabia signing away an even more valuable gift: nuclear technology. In a ceremony little-noticed in this country, Ms. Rice volunteered the U.S. to assist Saudi Arabia in developing nuclear reactors, training nuclear engineers, and constructing nuclear infrastructure. While oil breaks records at $130 per barrel or more, the American consumer is footing the bill for Saudi Arabia's nuclear ambitions. (cont)

I just threw up in my mouth...

Bush has been showing his allegiances for 7 years, and it should be obvious by now to a person with half a brain and one eye open that he's aligned with the wealthy and with oil companies and particularly with Saudi families. Note that that includes the Saudi family of bin Laden.

Bush's REAL enemy is the USA middle class.

It's insanity at best. What the *&^%!?

The biggest regret of my life - the two times I voted for that jerk. Yes, I confess.
I was ignorant. But I was repulsed by the thought of Kerry/Edwards for 1 second, let alone 4 years What choice did I have?

Embarassed

you made the wrong choice, LOL

Otherwise Kerry would be running for re-election and would have been blamed for Katrina, the housing bubble burst, and the oil shock. McCain would win in a landslide and Republicans would gain control of Congress by asking what Reagan did in 1980: "Are you better off today than you were four years ago?"

Within a year we're invading Iran and gas shoots to $9 a gallon. Meanwhile, in this alternate reality universe, oil speculators form a double top and gas drops to $2.50 by Thanksgiving.

We'll hold you to that.

Last time I thought oil would drop to $50 a barrel, things were going as planned until a hurricane crossed the Florida peninsula and gained strenght as it plowed through the Gulf of Mexico. The variable is what happens during the hurricane season this year. Barring any major hurricane in the Gulf, the drop in consumption will cause the oil shock to turn into an oil glut. When the Saudis have said that oil prices are too high, a crash is about to occur.

Throughout history markets have ballooned and contracted. Whenever you hear the phrase "the old rules don't apply", it's time to sell. What is really being said is "the prices aren't being set by the market, they're being set by the speculators". Once market forces are pushed to the background, a bubble forms and suckers are enticed into the market. When the supply of suckers runs dry, the market implodes. I'm not saying anything new, just rehashing every market boom and bust since the Tulip Mania.

Skull and Cross Bones.

John Kerry (Bones 1966) faced off against George W. Bush (Bones 1968) in the 2004 US presidential election, the first time two Bonesman had run against one another for that office.

Obama won't be better - he's aligned himself over the years with many who spewed beliefs that the world should become total Islamic. Far too many for comfort to get me to vote for him. If Obama gets elected, we may well end up a country that requires it's women to wear veils. (and I realize Obama is not a Muslim - that's not the point.)

If Obama gets elected, we may well end up a country that requires it's women to wear veils

I'd expect this kind of horse manure from some talking head on Fox News. This is the kind of scare tactic/rhetoric we need to filter out if we're going to make intelligent decisions regarding our next president.

Please tell me you don't seriously believe this because of Rev. frigging Wright or the fact that Obama sounds alot like Osama (as in bin Laden) or that Obama would engage Iran is some kind of 'dialogue.'

That's interesting considering Obama was just criticized by the Arab world over his remarks about Israel and Jerusalem.

# The U.S. and Saudi Arabia will sign a Memorandum of Understanding in the area of peaceful civil nuclear energy cooperation. This agreement will pave the way for Saudi Arabia's access to safe, reliable fuel sources for energy reactors and demonstrate Saudi leadership as a positive non-proliferation model for the region.

* The United States will assist the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to develop civilian nuclear power for use in medicine, industry, and power generation.
* The Government of the United States and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will establish a comprehensive framework for cooperation in the development of environmentally sustainable, safe, and secure civilian nuclear energy through a series of complementary agreements.

Coincidence?

Or are the Bushies trading nukes for oil?

Pink Slip

American businesses and companies, after all the U.S. signed a memo of understanding and would the U.S. allow Russia or China to build reactors and the systems in Saudi Arabia.
