WSPD Only Radio In Attendance At Transportation Task Force Meeting

Once again WSPD was the only radio station in attendance when the Ohio Transportation Priorities Task Force rolled into Toledo for a meeting Tuesday at 4p. Tom Blaha from Wood County's Development Commissione, and Rich Martinko of the UT Intermodal Institute spoke. Both have been on Fred's show before talking about intermodal facilities. Tom Kovacik of TAGNO and James Gee of TARTA also spoke about their vision of Ohio's transpotation future.
Gee's biggest point was that TARTA needs more funding, funding, funding even though at this point 65% of TARTA's budget comes from us in the form of levy dollars.
The mayor arrived late, and the only other local politicos there were Konop, a couple of Wood County Commissioners, and Darlene? Dunn who is running for Mark Wagners District seat in the Ohio house.
The meeting was just one I will be at this week regarding transportation as WSPD continues to lead all other media print, and electronic in coverage of this issue. Wednesday it's the local Transportation Club dinner, and Thursday the WSPD presentation of Brian McMahon's Intermodal powerpoint at 7p at the Health Ed Building on the Health Science campus of UT (formerly MCO). Enter the property off Glendale and follow the signs.
It's not enough anymore to just have the politicians on everyday as they often speak to only serve thier own career advancement. You have to be there at the meetings and see which ones show up and which ones only talk the talk.

Isn't WSPD the only "News" Radio station? So you should be congratulated for doing your job? Congrats!

Thank you, I will accept your congratulations in the manner in which they were intended.

Have any tv news crews had enough balls to show up to any of these yet? I haven't been able to watch the news to find out.
