Senator Byrd, God, and The Media

Democratic Senator Roberty Byrd spoke publically today about the bad news of Ted Kennedy's brain tumor.

As aired on many live news broadcasts, Byrd actually said ,"My dear, dear friend, dear friend, Ted Kennedy. ... Dear All Powerful and Omnipotent God....Keep Ted here for us and for America. ... Ted, Ted, Ted. My dear friend. I love you and miss you." — Sen. Robert Byrd, D-W.Va

However, after some time had passed allowing for editing, much of the media aired his statement like this, "My dear, dear friend, dear friend, Ted Kennedy. ... Keep Ted here for us and for America. ... Ted, Ted, Ted. My dear friend. I love you and miss you." — Sen. Robert Byrd, D-W.Va.

Notice they removed the reference Senator Byrd made acknowledging God. After all, how dare Senator Byrd do such a thing....doesn't he know our nation as removed God from public life. You think by now...he would learn his lesson...if not from the media...at least from his own party.

Byrd, a devout Christian, grew emotional in his frustration: "How long — how long, O Lord, how long? Four thousand, eighty-one American soldiers have died. Died! One can only die once. Over 30,000 U.S. soldiers have been wounded. By the end of 2008, the war in Iraq will have cost over $608 billion."

Before taking on the war, Byrd gave a tearful tribute to Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, who is the second most senior senator on the Hill. Once rivals in a long-ago leadership race, the two have forged a lasting bond.

"Ted, Ted, my dear friend, I love you, and I miss you," Byrd said, weeping. "And Erma, Erma, Erma, my darling wife, Erma, would want to say, 'Thank God for you, Ted. Thank God for you.'"

Looks like God is here to stay...

Yeah, I saw the god reference in a couple of articles as well. But I didn't see the reference to dead American troops and the massive cost of the occupation. Interesting...

Well, looks like KKK members stick together.

And the brain tumor explains why Kennedy WROTE the lame-a$$ "No Child Left Behind" act that every butt-munching Liberal loves to blame on Bush.

Don't blame me,
I didn't vote for a
socialist.

Well, looks like KKK members stick together.

Huh? You claiming Kennedy was in the KKK? And how many billion$$ was the NCLB Act underfunded, thanks to Bush?

The tumor Kennedy has is very fast growing as explained this evening on World News Tonight. Kennedy apparently recently underwent a procedure to correct a blockage in his carotid artery. If I understood it correctly, an MRI and other tests were conducted to diagnose the condition and most likely would have shown the tumor had it been present at the time.

I highly doubt the Senator had the tumor when the No Child Left Behind legislation was written.

Bush and other Republicans had to be a party to the legislation or it would never have been enacted!

And I highly doubt that Senator Kennedy shared any of Byrd's views or an affiliation with the KKK.

The KKK was a life time ago for Byrd...as a matter of fact Byrd just backed Obama for President.

As for the "butt-munching" reference, what is your obsession with gay sex and all things anal? All this hostility and hate is starting to make sense. It’s obviously your self loathing projected out ward.

Just step out of the closet and accept who you are. You’ll be a lot happier.

why you're one sad, clueless joke.

Kennedy of course had nothing to do with the KKK, so the first sentence makes zero sense.

And many if not most Liberals despise the NCLB Act, while most conservatives embrace it, no matter the sponsor. You must not like it, judging from your words, so you're amongst the crowd you evidently want to blow you, at least on this issue.

Enjoy the company.

One Dem senator openly cries and bemoans the malignant disease that an old friend has and you spin it into an opportunity to spread your "I hate Republicans" message, not once, but TWICE!!

Kudos to you!! Be sure to take 10 hate points for each at the next meeting of your hate group

Pay attention--my comments were in response to others people's remarks.

please explain what your first post had to do with the other person's remark you were replying to?

Sure. Kooz's original post referred to the media leaving out Senator Byrd's reference to God. Neighborhood Concerns posted an article that included the God reference, but also included a mention of Iraq, and the cost, number of dead, etc. (follow me so far?) So then I posted that indeed the God reference WAS included in media reports, despite Koozy saying it was left out. But also I was surprised that the Iraq reference was left out of the reports that I had read, which was somewhat surprising. I hope this clears things up Billy. I'd hate to have this little incident come between our friendship. You're swell...

No wonder KKK loving Nazi Liberals love Kennedy.

Don't blame me,
I didn't vote for a

It sucks when you paint yourself into a corner, eh Libs? That article doesn't mention Ted Kennedy or the KKK. I'm sure the connection is just inferred.

KKK and Nazi's are Liberals?

I was always under the impression and understanding that both are far right parties or groups that advocate one race or group over another.
